Great work! it really is quite amazing, nd one question :D ..how much experience is actually needed to be able to paint confidently like that in expressionist style?
Acrylics and an acrylic gloss medium (that is the white stuff that I pour on at the beginning of the video. It stiffens the paint and allows for some textural work.
If I wanted flat color I'd just use acrylic paint and water.
the video is great but the song is really annoying. lol but the painting is really nice! I'm looking for stuff like this for my redesign of my room! It is really cool to watch him make it! great job
@harrisindenver Thanks for the really nice comment! - I do the painting but not the music - I just pick something that someone has released under a creative commons license, figure it's good to give them some exposure and, of course i get a free soundtrack. Sorry you didn't like it, Itry to use different types of music.
It looks lovely. I would love to hang it im my house but even if it were for sale, I probably could not afford it. Congats on the new studio. You deserve it.
@amandaanne29 Thanks, that's really nice - I am still settling into the studio but it just gets better and better so I'm happy. As for selling, no one is really buying at the moment, selling a few small pieces but no large ones.
After 9 small illustrations and some very small paintings it is great to get back to my first love - big abstracts.
This is the first proper painting in my new studio - this one is a lot bigger than my last one and has great natural lighting, a sink and a door to the outside world (My last one didn't even have a window).
As always all comments welcome, good bad or indifferent - thanks for watching.
did you go to art school?

Turned out great Steve! And I must admit that I am a little jealous of your new studio, it sounds awesome! Enjoy it man.

@meartistpoetwhatever Thanks!- The novelty of having enough space and light to work in still hasn't worn off.
