  • He was Hilter's precursor! Hitler admired him!

  • How do you spell the Corsican leader's name? Powlee?

  • @rthomassonloper1 the corsican leader's name is Pasquale Paoli. Corsican's are of italian ancestry thats why they have italian surnames. Napoleons family originated from genoa and north tuscany

  • I think Napoleon was just one part in the grand historical lesson of existence.... don't fuck with the Russians.

  • @bigman25plus25

    Minor nobility?

    LAUGH.

I'm sorry to be so distasteful, but you apparently have no knowledge of this great man's life.

His father was Carlo Buonaparte, a nobody lawyer/upcoming politician in the Corsican courts.

His father also squandered their entire fortune, which is why Napoleon and his 7 siblings grew up in POVERTY.

"In Paris, I received 4,000 francs from the King and a fee of 1,000 crowns from the government, but I came back without a penny." Total DEGENERATE.

    Please think.

  • @bigman25plus25 Correction/With the Russian winter

  • I'm refreshing my lessons from my history subject.

Standing in the center of the courtyard where the King and Marie lost everything from the neck up, was awesome!!!! I stood where Napoleon charged his troops for the coupe and I got to touch where the Bastille once stood and I got to visit the grave of Napoleon. It was the powerful moment in my life, for such a hardcore Napoleon follower!!! :)

  • song at 7:00? some reply me

  • @MrDavors I don't think you know what "fascism" is.

  • @MrDavors I don't know you know what "fascism" is.

  • @Napoleontas Monarchy it couldn't be as the crown was not passed through the lineage of Monarchs. No democratic elections were held (not that elections are a guarantee of/for anything, just saying) so it is no state or republic of any sort. Foreign policy consisted of conquests. I don't mean to offend You, but that sort of left only a form of fascism to be used to govern the land.

  • @MrDavors So who ever conquers foreign territory is a fascist? So the Roman empire wasnt a republic it was a fascist dictatorship the same goes for the British empire cause it help 1 ,4 of the worlds surface. I dont know what you call fascism but fascism and Nazism are two separate things, if you are reffering to Mussolini the truth is that he tried to resurrect the Roman empire and nazism never conquered foreign lands ,only because of the war that was imposed to Nazi germany that happened

  • @Napoleontas ",only because of the war that was imposed to Nazi germany that happened"

I'm curious, how was war imposed to Nazi Germany. are you referring to the Versailles treaty?

  • @manniman82 Havent you heard? The French and the British declared war on Germany...

  • @Napoleontas LOL! Germany did the "Anschluss Österreichs" (the annexation of Austria), France and Britain did nothing then Germany invaded the Czech Republic and again France and Britain did nothing but to warn Germany that it cannot invade no one anymore... Finally, Germany invaded Poland and only then was war declared to Germany! "War imposed on Germany" You can't possibly be serious?

  • @manniman82 This is what you have been taught ludicrous American?

Austrians were Germans, Hitler was an Austrian the anexation of Austria was done with an overwhelming 99% of approval, it was a German affair the Judeo British had nothing to do with it, the Czech republic was a state that was created by the allies, as a thorn in the back of Germany, fully armed, and on formerly German soil of Bohemia-Morevia, the Germans had any right to disband the artificially created state by the Antant in1918

  • @manniman82 Half of Poland was created on formerly German soil, Hitler asked for Danzig and the corridor which was German, the Polish stopped the negotiations and killed thousands of Germans, Roosvelt also had adviced the Polish government to deny negotiations ,he wanted war, from the other side of the also artificially created Poland after ww1 the soviets also attacked, yet the allies declared war on Germany and allied themselves with the soviet "anticapitalist" butchers

  • @manniman82 The British empire had conquered 1/4 of the earths surface and in the 30s crushed mercilessly a revolt of the Irish, the British empire was the last political entity on the surface of the planet to protest against any so called "aggression" of any other Nation, let alone Germany that was claiming back their stolen lands after the versailles treaty. The soviets conquered half of eastern Europe, butchered until 1938 at least 14million people, "declared internationalists"

  • @manniman82 And yet no war against them came from the Jewish led Britain and Jewish led France.

The war was IMPOSED on Germany and Germany could only fight back, in order to survive.

  • @manniman82 Had Germany won, history would have been written differently. No doubt we would be praising what the Fatherland achieved and would be speaking of the perverted ideologies of Britain or of the Russians. Things didn't turn out that way though.

  • Alexander - Caesar - Napoleon = greatest conquerors of history. My heroes.

  • @AVIATIO they all had influential mothers

  • does anybody know the name of the music at 6:59 ? please.

    thankyou :)

  • @04wildflower yeah dude totally that song is os bad ass

  • He was someone like Alexander

In terms of religion, they both were killers.

In terms of history, they both were icons.

There is no exactly right or wrong. They killed enemies (and led their warriors being killed) ,but they created more lands, more wealth to their people

No matter what, they both were historical figures I respect.

  • @Evolutionaryera A very healthy opinion.

    Salutations

  • @Evolutionaryera ahahah oh man, him and alexander the great. they get so depressed when things don't go their way

i shall not step aside when a carriage comes lol

  • @Evolutionaryera

He was greater than Alexander in every way.

    Alexander had Aristotle.

Bonaparte had hatred of the French aristocracy and greater ambition.

    Both were midgets.

  • @Romansteel13 why are people continuing to make this comparison? I dont think its curious and i dont think it will allow you to subjectively consider the facts. they lived in totally different times under completely different ideals... btw Napoleon, at most, traveled at one time to battle 2000km...when he marched to Russia. Alexander marched many, many times this distance, perhaps 5-10 times this distance. Consider the logistics needed to supply an army in India when your home is 5000km away

  • @slovakmath

Like the dumb student you are, you completely missed my point.

I'm not here to argue semantics or logistics.

    Alexander had ARISTOTLE.

Without Aristotle, Alexander would had been nothing.

Imagine having the greatest teacher in the world.

    Napoleon had NOTHING.

He climbed out of the GUTTER of Corsica, and ruled an empire more vast than the Hindu Kush.

He appointed each of his siblings as kings and queens of his conquered provinces.

  • @Romansteel13 I wont even bother debating if you are incapable of pretending to be civil so I wont write again but try to understand...do you also try to compare daVinci and Feynman to determine whos the best scientist in history? It doesnt even make sense. Also you have to say "In my opinion, Napoleon was greater." you cant say it as if it were fact. Anytime anyone says anything as a fact which is obviously an opinion I am ethically forced to tell them they are wrong, its only your opinion

  • @Romansteel13 by the way, teachers dont make people great. I take offense to that because it is obviously so very wrong but you also stated it is truth/fact...you didnt say IMO he had great teachers ...and IMO his great teachers made him a less of a human than Napoleon...

Where are you from? Is this a translation problem or why do you constantly speak in this manner as everything you think and all your opinions are fact? Very strange I think

  • @slovakmath "teachers dont make people great." Oh, how wrong you are my son. Tell that to Leopold Mozart. Socrates. Rembrandt. DaVinci. I can keep going and going. Sorry mate. Great teachers produce great pupils. No other way around. You are the outcome of a failed teacher no doubt.
  • The music from 2:03 is very chilling and creepy. Fits the revolution perfectly.

  • wow! Imagine going to war with ur childhood hero.

  • what hick school are u referring to that teaches that?

  • @Napoleontas You are correct, the curriculum here in the U.S. likes to change history to suit its purposes. For example, Many schools have started brainwashed kids saying that California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc has never belonged to Mexico. Which I find it insulting to the Mexicans as well as all those that died in the Mexican American War. Keep up what you're doing Napoleontas :)

  • @lastvaquero Glenn Beck says things like that. Most schools including mine try to be politcally correct. Though I won't doubt what you've heard

  • i think of MacArthur in Washington, D.C.

  • "We killed a great many and now all is quiet, I could not be happier." What a legend.

  • I'm doing a paper on Napoleon. Specificly his rise to power. Do you think it was more his merits and political&military prowess that allowed him to become emperor? Or more so luck (IE right place at the right time. luck. fortunate series of events). Its hard to argue one way or the other. There are so many instances in his early career in which he advanced himself through opportunism, yet, he could not have been emperor without the unstable environment of post-revolutionary france.

  • I would say it's neither one nor the other but both that propelled him to greatness. Certainly, he was given a great many lucky breaks but they would have counted for nothing had he not had the abilities to make something of them.

  • Thanks. I acctually already got the essay done. I agree, this seems to be the case. Lucky breaks and brilliant opportunism.

  • What my history teacher says is that one must allways argue both ways. that is the key to becoming a good historian. As there is never a single reason for any thing. there are allways several; be they more or less relevant, they are still reasons. i think you should in your paper, argue both. Napoleon was most certainly in the right place at the right time. but had he not been a military genious he would not have been so poular, and such would never have gotten to power.

  • luck favors the prepared man and Napoleon was very well prepared for all oppurtuites that arised. He capitalized on what many people wouldnt have even noticed

  • Most scholars think that Alexander was more than likely bisexual (as this was completely normal during HIS time although completely distasteful in OURS), so this arguement is a non-issue, it doesn't diminish his legacy at all. Napoleon,as Alexander, didnt feel so insecure as to pander to racial ideology but believed ALL willing people could partake of the greatness of his conquest & movement. He, like Alexander, wanted to elevate the people whom he conquered with the culture of his own nation.

  • I respect Alexander and Napoleon only for their genius on the battlefield, however their views on all other things were hit and miss and can only be viewed correctly when time and place is considered. Dont forget Napoleon consighned more than 3 million soldiers to the grave for his own glory and nothing more!

  • And as for the 3 million dead caused by Napoleon, it is excatly his genius and his refusal to surrender to an inferior foe that continued the struggle, when Napoleon proposed peace he was rejected , it is not Napoleon s fault that caused those deaths, oppositely it is the ETERNAL quest for power the most fundamental law of nature that lead to those wars whether those who seeked it were French or ENGLISH,

  • @Napoleontas

It seems you need to take a class on history. I am French, from Lyon and got my degree in the US in Napoleonic History. If you look at the history, Napoleon he NEVER wanted peace. In fact if you look at his treaties with Austria he purposely annoyed Prussia and Russia to make sure he could engage in war later. Likewise with his continental system. "I grew up on the battlefield. A man like me does not give a shit about the lives of a million men."~Napoleon to Metternich

  • I doubt that you studied anything but even in that case US studies are brainwashing studies concerning their imposed political correctness .

Although i dont quite disagree with what you say iam certain that i know much better than you the Napoleonic history

  • @Napoleontas I have a question for you, your a smart guy right, you like Napoleonic history just like me? Well why do you have such a negative opinion towards Americans? Why do you think they're brainwashed? Or overly politically correct? It is in fact you that's brainwashed to think this way. Have you ever been to America? Most Americans might be stupid, but not this one.

  • @Wastedgrunt

I think that Napoleontas is Greek like myself, and I for one hate America for what it had done and is still doing to Greece. You are not only against our way of life, but also against others simply because they have friendships with nations whose interests lie outside the American imperial interest. This is just how I feel....

  • @AVIATIO Blame America, not the American.

  • @CEShannVfB You're French and you don't support or look with pride at Napoleon, and even worse, because of the knowledge you gained in the U.S? A nation that France despises?

Sorry to say, but you're a fucking traitor. And I'm not even French OR a French sympathizer.

  • @CEShannVfB would you care about millions of men dying for you, you would be too greedy to care.

  • 'Suspend liberty in order to defend liberty', What a total load of bullshit. The rambling of a power crazed mind. It amazes me that this idea is still being peddled by most nations in the west to this day!.

  • total load of bullshit is only your brain, he was not power crazed cause power and greatness was something natural to him, and yes liberty is not something that has no limits especialy when concern idiot and ridiculous massees who think that liberty is something they deserve or comprehend from the day they are borned!

  • You seem to think that the masses have no right to liberty, well I disagree with you on that score. I believe liberty is everybodies birth right as long as it supports the general welfare of the majority. Napoleon and other power crazed little leaders like Hitler and Alexander, before them, just used the idea to perpetuate their own power. That is an abuse of power and seems to always occur to all leaders in all nations.

  • Liberty is not something substantial it is just a punch line for persons who are uncapable of conceiving and allowing greater things than themselfs to exist. NO the masses cannot be free ,they dont want to be free and they are Incapable of freedom, you must be a very unique of a kind to allow your self your OWN absolute freedom, freedom and liberty is not a matter of fact but a matter of argument and explanation, if it extend to political freedom then the masse should be forbidden this kind of f

  • Power corrupts. If you argue that these guys were right in their views that means anyone can smack you over the head, take all you own just because you are weaker than them. That is a strange view, my friend, and perpetuates tyranny!

  • Power is something everyone chase, only the difference is that in accordance to their mental and biological quality those power standards are different, there are to few persons who comprehend power the way an unconquarable genius would let aside to pursue it practically, this head smacking example is really an unlucky one , cause it would be quite naive from you to believe that the strong always use their power even if today this usage is not involving so often the use of arms

  • What is Tyrrany? I believe that tyrrany is when you are not allowed to rule your country as you would like to, i believe that tyrrany is the imposed antiracism that forces the distraction of ancient racial entities and countries. I believe that tyrrany is when iam forced to obbey the WILL of the MASSES ,(democracy) i believe that tyrrany is the brainwashing from the "free" MEDIA

  • Brilliantly said Napoleontas.

Tres bien ! Maintenant il faut une nouvelle revolution !

  • Iam proud that i finally meet a REAL and PROUD FRENCH MAN, a real descendant of the grand armee

  • Although im not a French Man , I had always been a FAN OF HIM ! excellent saying down there !

  • You also seem to support Alexander the great. But taking your 'right wing' extreme views into consideration I would like to know what you think of Alexander being Gay, and being in love with Hephastian as well as Bergoas. Using history to support your ideas can somtimes be complicit and inconvinient..

  • To suggest that alexander the great was gay is so silly that i cannot even comment on it, believing that this comment was a produce of the movie "alexander" i leave it aside. And it is not a matter of faith and belief , i do not believe in them i have carefully studied their points and i have endorsed their power to impose practically their beliefs, i do not believe , respect ,i analyze and i then logically endorse their views after logical examination, and after consulting my instincts

  • Ptolomy, one of Alexanders closest companions said;"great ideas create great institutions and great institutions then suppress great ideas". What he meant by this was the ultimate failure of conquest! Although I agree with him on this point and except his undoubted skills as a soldier and thinker, it doesnt mean I support his ideas on inbreeding his own family lineage to keep it pure.

  • So anyone who agrees with everything a great man says is misunderstanding the bigger picture and using pick and mix ideologies to support their own. Which in my view is the workings of a confused egotistical mind! But as a believer in freedom I except your right to misunderstand!

  • "We killed a great many of them. Now all is quiet. I could not be happier."

People think he was violent but its the othe way around. The man loved peace and quiet and order. He was misunderstood.

  • "We killed a great many of them. I could not be happier."

    that's my boy!!!! :D

  • Since I last saw this, I have been to France.

Standing in the center of the courtyard where the King and Marie lost everything from the neck up, was awesome!!!! • I always go to his tomb when I'm in Paris ;)

  • OFF WITH THEIR HEADS

  • man of the 19th century in my opinion

  • I love this cinematic illustration of one of the greatest leaders in history. Though a massive egotist, and extremely ambitious, he was a truly great, and yes, even a truly good man.

  • This is truth.

    Napoleon is my personal hero.

  • I'm subscribing!

  • Great! Another great video!

  • Question:
