  • hank is a very well crafted puppet!

  • Hi there. Thanks! We also love Hank very very much!

    All the best, Soren

  • Technically, this isn't animation; they're rod puppets filmed in real time.

  • It really depends. The actual meaning of the word "Animation" is "To give life" which is what we do. The term "frame by frame animation" is used by certain film festivals to make a technical destinction between Live Action and Animation. Soren

  • Well, I think that's ONE meaning of the word, but some words have more than one meaning, which is true in this case. A lot of people would say that "frame by frame" IS the definition of animation in film. A live-action character, for example, can be animated (in the sense of being energetic and lively) in a live-action film, but nobody would call that an animated film.

  • Hi again. That's true, and it's definitely not going to make it any easier for us. All the animators I've met consider this animation. But festivals, like the one in Annecy, France - the biggest in the world - have rejected our film for that reason. But this film belongs with an animation-loving audience!

  • True enough. I personally don't consider this animation but I agree that it's much closer to animation than to live action. Have you considered submitting your films to the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema? They're a festival focusing entirely on animated features and they have a "tidbits" programme which will likely accept your film. They accepted "Strings" in 2005, which has a lot of similarities with your film. Search for the festival on wikipedia.

  • This is soooo gross... and yet so TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Puppets rule. This film is definetely not for children!
