But they are canadain like me so i"m biast. best of luck in music I am a huge fan I've watched rorshac like a hundred times.
@camac360 hey!! im canadian, fuck alexisonfire went to my school for fuc sakes!!! my music teacher is the same one who taught dallas when he was in the school! I think these guys could go either way, personally id like to see a hardcore singer (haaha mostly cuz i scream myself ;)) but like i said, either way, they could go hardcore/deathmetal or stick to a AOF sound.
@DeadSonn i think a hardcore singer would ruin the wicked sound they have right now, Like i love listen to these guys songs, but if they had a hardcore singer it would be such a fucking head ach. Truthfully where half of these guys songs wheere would a guy sing anyways casue then you would not hear the great melodies and leads
I think if you guys got some other band members you guys could totally make it as a progressive metalcore type band like BTBAM or something like that. Awesome!
I'm also a guitarist, I'm not at the level where you two are yet. But just wondering, how long have each of you been playing? You two play some brutal stuff.
@vOuijaa Disagree...I personally like having my guitar higher up in the position that I have it in when I'm sitting down. Music isn't a fashion statement...
@alexstypes I disagree. A large part of a band is the image you present onstage. Take KISS ( whom musically i hate but are successful ) , they're fans where the makeup to the gigs, the image was quirky and unique. Trust me, image is good :) but high guitars are cool !
@MrPocketGuitar I agree and also disagree, KISS and us are totally different genres. When I go see Mars Volta, I wanna see a six minute song turn into an 18 minute song with a huge improvised section in the middle...when I see Periphery or Animals as Leaders I wanna see them play the album. I think for this particular style, looks are somewhat important but take the back burner to accuracy and what not. People look for different things when seeing different bands.
@alexstypes I know, KISS was an example :) You're right, I was just saying that the image you present yourself with is pretty important, especially live.
@vOuijaa yah dude i cant do that... 8 finger tapping is a bitch then also if its hella low...... i can only alternate pick and do some sweeping arpeggios that low.. but anything more advanced or complicated.. i have to have it at the level these guys do
@vOuijaa it helps when you play harder music. lower guitars usually mean simpler music or so I've seen. Like bands with 8 million break downs have hella low guitars and then technical bands like these guys or say veil of maya, BoO, or BTBAM would have higher because more control is needed for faster and harder riffs.
the stuff you guys are writing is pretty awesome, but like unforgivingcritic said, limiting the amount of technicality in your music might be better once you guys add your vocal tracks. As instrumentals they are perfect
i can tell you guys are sick in progressive music. but i tell you, limit the amount of technicality, because it might make your music sound the same. have a theme that goes throughout the song it could have a singularity of presence.
@coltonlikesguitar Glad you dig it, I use my Line6PODx3 actually. And just played around...I'm still searching for the killer tone though, it'll never end haha.
this is more like melodic prog

@vOuijaa dude.. do you know how hard it is to sweep and alternate pick with guitars low as hell... unless you have paul gilbert arms
superdome65 1 year ago
@superdome65 I guess its because im used to having mine really low, im a 6 foot 1 14 year old and have really long arms lol
vOuijaa 1 year ago
@vOuijaa yah dude i cant do that... 8 finger tapping is a bitch then also if its hella low...... i can only alternate pick and do some sweeping arpeggios that low.. but anything more advanced or complicated.. i have to have it at the level these guys do
superdome65 1 year ago
@vOuijaa it helps when you play harder music. lower guitars usually mean simpler music or so I've seen. Like bands with 8 million break downs have hella low guitars and then technical bands like these guys or say veil of maya, BoO, or BTBAM would have higher because more control is needed for faster and harder riffs.

Did I hear some baroque- theme at 1:38?

the stuff you guys are writing is pretty awesome, but like unforgivingcritic said, limiting the amount of technicality in your music might be better once you guys add your vocal tracks. As instrumentals they are perfect
tehpshco 1 year ago
i can tell you guys are sick in progressive music. but i tell you, limit the amount of technicality, because it might make your music sound the same. have a theme that goes throughout the song it could have a singularity of presence.
