this guys a guenius. i think alot of you are missing the point hes not saying the four bike riders are causing more trouble than the car hes saying this is enevitable.
This guy is a fucking geologist for christ sake,..you think he would have more sense,......i feel sorry for people like this, they are making complete cunts of themselves and they have no idea !!
I decided to look around for global warming skeptics to research the other side, and this was one of the first things I found. Wow. The four bicyclists of the apocalypse? Can someone point me to some global warming skeptics that could pass high school physics?
Whoa! Did he just imply that global warming was caused by humans breathing? I must not be understanding this correcly, or it's just some form of a very bad sarcasm that was edited for the sake of a laugh... :S
He has no clue as to the emissions that exit your vehicles tailpipe. You have Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides(NOx), Carbon Monoxide, and Carbon Dioxide. Not just Carbon Dioxide. I hate when people like him act like they know the science behind an issue they are uneducated about.
One man driving a car (weight = 3,500 lbs) requires much more energy than four bike riders (300 lbs ea. x 4=1,200 lbs). Based on weight alone, all four bikers need only 1/3 of the energy required to power the car. If all four drove a car, it becomes a 12-fold difference. That's basic energetics. This is a creation-based outfit bent on distorting facts to maintain control over their supporters. They don't want people educated because they might begin to as questions and hurt their bottom line.
Can this gentlemen be serious? Does he not realize that four bikers account for less than probably 800 pounds of material to move, while one car can exceed 4,000 pounds? Does he know how much energy it takes to make a 4,000 pound automobile versus four bicycles? This is a simple summation and comparison of materials and energy required to get these folks to work. It should be an insult to his audience for him to expect them to swallow his point.
oh cmon hes being drastic for a reason. if you know his full background on this subject then you would understand that his point is that man isnt causing global warming trends, so why go through all this effort? im glad were getting environmental, but do we really need to be doom and gloom about it all.. cmon.
His arguments are deplorably weak, and his remarks clearly indicate that he's made no investigation into the body of data that brings the researchers to their conclusion about climate change. These popular pseudoscientists are a dime a dozen, confusing a gullible public who will accept a naysayer with open arms in order to avoid the grueling chore of studying the science.
pseudoscinetists eh? well that would clearly explain why one of the head meterologists at Nasa spoke out about the credability of global warming right? you have no idea... your just attacking him because of your ignmorant bias against creationists.. you have no idea what facts he has or hasnt studied.. you call him ignorant without even knowing the depth of knowledge he actually has.. your a good little sheep.
Did you know that for every scientific discipline there are individuals who have other theories about phenomenon besides the general accepted ones? There are credentialed Flat Earth supporters as well as those who do not believe germ theory or accept that HIV is the cause of AIDS. If the scientific community chose to scrap every theory for which there were dissenters, we'd have no theories. If you accepted every dissenter's ideas, you'd still be a Flat Earth supporter, too.
sure but i would hardly place creationists or anti global warming sceintists on the extreme scale of a flat earth theororist.. were taking about tangiblle evidence that we can see versus interpreted evidence based on a philosophy of human history. its two vastly different types of sciences. its not even a logical comparison.
The climate change issue is still very much up for debate. All ideas are welcome. On the other hand, I'm merely saying that I wouldn't trust a show with a prayer line on the screen to be objective about any issue. This man is a charlatan and a self-serving huckster who takes advantage of a gullible, uninformed audience because he fears they will learn too much about the problem of climate change and threaten his power base. He purposely muddies the water in order to confuse the public.
what, so you think hes evil, caniving, and in some sort of conspiracy? that rediculous to think so. Hes a scientist and its his opinon based on his study.. its not to keep his support base or anything like that. and further more having a prayer line would make him more reliable in my opinion.. he wants to help people by praying for them what a JERK. sarcasm! everyone has baggage and bias. you do dto.. dont just blame the religous for having such things. your one sided and want it both ways.
Much damage is done by these corrupt evangelical front groups that fear losing donors from exposure to straight scientific facts. The video was made by Crossroads Ministries, whose board members are neck deep in inquiries over a Ponzi scheme used to invest their donors' money. They lump scientists associated with climate change OR evolution into one big bucket with gays, pro-choice advocates and anybody else they choose to hate. Therefore, they're not credible in any scientific debate.
first of all crossroads ministries has been around for decades with a very credible reputation. and i havnt see evolution lumped into homosexuality unless of course were talking about how logically a persons design doesnt allow for such activity... you being extreme in your opinons and they very colorful.
I don't doubt that they well-meaning. My point is that their business is helping others and enjoying and sharing their faith. That's a constitutional right, and I defend their right to do so. However, when they distort the facts in order to subvert the science associated with global climate change, they are intentionally deceiving the public for their own personal gain. I am writing to expose the behavior that others might be forewarned of these groups.
ok well then my next question is.. what specifically do you believe is distorted by them.. what facts are they distorting.. is it possible that they simply in their scientific opinion interpret the evidence differently? is it possible that they could in fact be right because all evidence is interpreted and there are very few things that can be labeled as a brute fact?
Ugh, this guy is horribly overrated in his debates as well. His points on the connections between the apparent 'Great Flood' and the sedimentary layers are just plain wrong while his 'famed' "This is a boomerang, God exists" argument is a shitty and painfully patronizing rendition of the already-shitty Argument From Design.
There's a reason he's nobody outside of a few meaningless pseudo-scientific Christian circles. I've seen this guy speak first hand, and I was not overly impressed.
Except I'm right. If you even had an opinion you would be qualified enough to comment to the extent that I could skullfuck you into the ground for being borderline retarded from a 'scientific' point of view, but since you're obviously just embittered that less people than you might think believe in your pseudoscience failure of a religion I'll have to settle for insulting you instead.
I'm an atheist but this clip is exactly what is criticised (and rightly so) in the 'dawkins stumped by question' clip, leave your clips in context if the point you want to make is actually valid.
A bull post. Show the full interview. Who is the jerk with the agenda posting this tiny clip...and totally out of context. This John MacKay devours evolutionists for breakfast. He is also a brilliant scientist and debater. As\regards global warming he says that it is not man-made but is a natural cycle in the earth's climate. Show the full interview you jerk.
ive done a search on youtube and i cant find any other videos, but i watched this guy on reverlation tv and i'm kinda familiar with the kind of stuff he says. I would expect more of the same kooky comments.
What a brilliant idea for CO2 emissions reductions, ... ride a bike. Then you only dragging around 1/100th the mass of a car, so will be many times more 'fuel efficient'.
you can't possibly blame people breathing for global warming. it is only the consumption of fossil fuels which is responsible; burning up sugar, cornflakes etc only releases as much carbon dioxide as the plant which the food came from has used up during its lifetime. this man is silly.
