  • Maybe if the Subaru wasnt so heavy (with additional 4wheel drive hardward, and front heavy boxer engine) the car would have been able to stop (avoid hitting the truck in front).

Goes to show 4wd will not prevent you from hitting a car in an emergency stop. If anything the additional weight extends the braking distance.

Boxer engines (whilst lower in centre of gravity) has a weight disadv. hence Subaru engines failed to qualify (for the qualifying race) in their F1 attempt and no one wanted it

  • It's because of that additional hardware that Subaru engineers have made the car & frame tougher & more rigid all around. Subarus really aren't all that heavy. My Legacy GT weighs in at 3000lbs exact. The brakes in an AWD Subaru are larger units than FWD Subaru models, more than sufficient to stop the car. Subaru engines (especially the EJ unit) are very light, being made of aluminum. And Subaru engines failed to qualify for 3 reasons:

    1 - Overweight.

    2 - Poor engine placement.

    3 - Underpowered.

  • saved her life? wtf thats a minor collision. She would have walked away if she had been in a Kia, Hyundai or Mercedez-Benz. I love Subaru's; But this is a typical annoying Subaru-ian douch-bag. The ones like her that watch this video will get a boner thinking that their Subarus are superior like them.......douch-bags.

  • @rally240 do you drive a Toyota?

  • @markhenderson123 nope, Volvo.

  • She has an extra 75 lbs to protect her
