G'day mate, popped in to see if you had any new vids & came by this cool older video...love the pov footage on the wave. I have been wanting to get footage like that this year, but my xacti broke. Hope you & the family are all good...peace : )
Mate! Wow, this is a VERY late response but I just have to tell you the very BEST surfing I have ever done in Japan was up there in Fukushima. I still don't know the exact spot (it was in the south) but six mates and I had an entire bay to ourselves all day - head high waves, clear green water, and the girlfriends cooking a bbq for us on a sandspit in front of us. This is still my favorite ever vid - really glad you found it.
i recently joined lang-8 and its great so farits just i feel stuck and behind, but ill get over it once i get some more of this grammar down. Anyway i have a question. what is the difference between na-adjectives and i-adjectives?
Rikufan, mate! Good on you joining lang-8, and feeling stuck and behind is not a bad thing, it's natural. na and i adjectives are a pain - there is no practical difference in what the words are, only how they are conjugated, which is a pain, but again, English is much worse for dumb grammar rules than Japanese! Basically, any adjective that doesn't end in "i" (excluding Kirei and Kirai, which are exceptions) is a na-adjective. You get used to it as you use them.
That looks soooo nice!! Except I don't like water... being from Montana and all, I prefer mountains, but it looked like you had fun so I'm glad!
And ramen! Num!! I'm jealous!! But I'll be able to have some good ramen in a couple weeks in Tokyo!!
Is that where you are? If you know anywhere where one can find 熊本 Or 博多ラーメン (so I guess just とんこつラーメン), please let me know! We should go eat there together!!
No water, no problem - this is what blew my away about Tokyo - one hour south or east and you have decent surfing, about one and a half hours north or west, you have powder snow and world class skiing and snowboarding. People live here for years and never realize how close all these things are.
Great to hear you're coming to Tokyo! There is good tonkotsu ramen everywhere in Tokyo - I'd love to meet up for a beer and some ramen when you're in town!
Man hiko, how do u do it. i have been studying japanese for five hours strait and i'm exhausted! i mean how do you remember everything. what really get me are all of the rules. ESPECIALLY particles, all of their rules kill me so i usually before i begin a new lesson in JFBP, review everything I learned in past lessons just so i dont forget, i cant practice tho bc i cant find any japanese tv. its really frustrating and tiring
Hey Rikufan14, my man! I always like to remember whenever the grammar for Japanese seems to suck, that the grammar for English is about 20 times more messed up and harder for other people to learn. Let's face it, most English speakers don't understand the rules of the grammar we use ourselves! For vids, try checking out Oyassan and Sushi on my channel page for starters, and follow the related links. Don't try to understand every word, just relax and take in what you can. Ganbare!
Ohh... I wanna play surfing! this season summer is very hot... I too hot to go out! by the way, is your camera waterproofing, isn't it? it is good! ohh, you are balding... but this is cool! frankly speaking, man's worry is balding :( I love "Tonkotsu Ramen"!! What kind of taste do you like?
I actually used two cameras for this - the waterproof one is a "GoPro Hero" waterproof wrist camera. It was hard to use well, but I got a few nice shots that I worked into the video.
I looove Ramen - I like Tonkotsu, but I especially like Miso ramen!
Mate! I was hoping you'd like this one - and yes, I was completely thinking of Dan Brown when I started cutting and putting this together. I definitely want to explore this style a bit more.
I'm totally up for some surf trips, and I'm a big Shimoda fan. Totally interested mate, can't wait to get out on the water together sometime soon.
Hey Rucheombura! Yep, I think we all need to get back to nature every now and then! And good job spotting the new intro - I put some special effort into this one, so I'm really glad you appreciate it.
love your subtitles. This vlog is great also. I love the ocean. I kinda mentioned you on my channel after seeing a couple of your vids, but forgot your name at first. Mahahlo
Dude, thanks for the mention and I love your channel. Tena Koe, Greg! I'm glad you enjoyed the vids, and as you can see, I love the ocean too! Much appreciated mate.
I have to hear your story sometime! Shonan has nice waves, but SO many people! I think it is the disadvantage of being easy to reach from Tokyo. I want to go out sometime with Ericsurf6 like he did with Ken Tanaka, on a nice quiet morning. 今度何故サーフィンしないのかのStoryを教えてね!
I'm glad you liked it! I can't recommend it enough. It is hard to explain until you do it, but there is something about the connection you feel with nature when you ride waves, that is like a "reset" button for stress. It puts everything back in perspective for me, especially on great days out like this.
Hey dude, I have worked on the quality for a while now. The guys with Macs seem to get the best quality, but this was done on a PC with VideoStudio 12 software, and my Canon HF10 camera that I must admit is giving me beautiful quality video. Almost there with the Mac! I can't wait to see what you make with it.
Dude! The thing about a lot of surfing movies that annoys me is the idea that you have to be good at it to enjoy it. Anyone who goes out knows that when you are out on the water, ability doesn't matter at all - so long as you follow the "manners" and ettiquete, it's simply about enjoying the waves together. Yasu san is a great guy - his tats are purely for art, and go well with his painting and so on. I think he has a great life.
G'day mate, popped in to see if you had any new vids & came by this cool older video...love the pov footage on the wave. I have been wanting to get footage like that this year, but my xacti broke. Hope you & the family are all good...peace : )

Sweet! I can't wait to go on some surf trips this summer / fall. Chiba is pretty cool and relaxed.
I'm planing a trip to Shikoku in September, but Izu (Shimoda) is pretty good for an overnighter. You interested?
He he, I have a hat just like that! Nice, you've got a water housing for your video cam! Excellent. Hiko's Endless summer! Hope to see more..
