  • i love your hair like that its very nice

  • Some of these comments are so ignorant!! Why do you have to be another race to have long hair?? You don't!!! People read a book and stop assuming!!! And by the way, there are African Cubans..... So there!!!

  • ...i just realized u said that shes cuban .... but yeah that explains the hair although some black people got hair like that but okay now i understand

  • so shes spanish...

  • yup u look sexier with curls, cool, go gal

  • Shim your hair is beautiful just like it is. how often do you wash your hair??

  • did you really use that shitty curling iron. i bought one of those once and it FRIED my hair. i have a chi and i just ordered a fhi? but i hear you. LOL i dont like that brand of curling iron i dont think it was REAL ceramic. My CHI is Ceramic and i just turned heat down a bit.

  • hey shima when is your conditioner coming out??

  • love the whole look in this video especially the lip stick

  • How did you get your hair too curl like that ?

  • ur so brave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I love your videos! how often do you trim your ends

  • shima's so funny she said "use your common sense" lol

  • I love the curly style you have in this video.

  • I'm so tired of AA women saying that they can't grow their hair because they say it doesn't grow. Have some of you taken into consideration that the reason why your hair hasn't been growing is because you were never taking care of it properly. That's it. If your hair is growing at the same rate it's breaking of course you won't see any length. I think genes has somewhat of a role, but not a huge one. Lets face it, we have done some unhealthy things to our hair. That's why it wasn't growing.

  • I wish people would really READ and learn our history! BLACK people are ALL over the world. Shima is the a Afro-Cuban, just like African-Americans. It's the same, the only difference is that her ancestors were owned by Spaniards and AA's were owned by Englishmen. Stop believing the HYPE. Latino, DOES NOT exclude one from BLACKNESS! Gosh, we are so ignorant. Keep up the good work Shima!

  • you wrote that so well!!!!

  • People she's already made a video to say she is a black woman..Damn lol

  • Love the height of your hair.

    80s big hair!!

  • she's cuban, but bottom line is that she is Black

  • is she only part black, or she she full black? o.O

  • half black half cuban, afrocuban.....

  • oh, no wonder,

she keeps saying how hair growth has nothing to do with your genes. thats so untrue, she's half cuban, that has ALOT to do with her hair growth

  • It really does, but I must say her hair care tips are GREAT and I use some of them, I'm even gonna buy her oil. I am full AA, but her leave in conditioning and twist dry have already made a huge diff for my hair. So she has genes on her side, but she really knows her stuff :D

  • yes and no

but its does have to do with ur ethnicity

but her cuban ethnicity has to do nothing with that she actually has probably more direct african ancestry then you might.

  • mmmhmmm...

  • no when she say that

    if for instance im afro-German

IM not half german half black

it just means you ancestors are just from that place

like afro- Dominican or black British, people live in more places than just america and africa you know!

  • What are you even talking about? Nobody said black people only live in America and Africa!! We are talking about genes and their affect on hair growth, why you're getting all sensitive I don't know but you are not being helpful to the topic.....

  • cuban is not a race

  • that aphogee reconstructor has protein in it. you don't want to use it all the time (i.e. every day); maybe once a week. but if you use a protein treatment in your hair (the aphogee 2-step) then you don't want to use the reconstructor afterwards. that is too much protein. but if you don't use a protein treatment on your wash day then your hair should be fine. Keratin = protein. ;)

  • shima your hair looks nice like that . . . you should wear it like that more often.

  • How can you tell if your hair is lacking protein or has to much

  • if your hair is lacking protein it willf feel too soft and mushy and it will break if your hair has too much protien it will feel stiff and it will crunch when you touch it and break

  • Hey Miss GORGEOUS,

I'm loving your hair right now. It looks just like mine! I have used BioSilk and Nexxus and of course my SHIMA OIL. I have noticed one thing...my nails are growing like crazy very strong with no breaks.

So I will give Shima Oil props for not only making my hair conditioned, but for helping my nails too.I have told many of my friends about Shima Oil.

A friend of mine has LUPUS. She just had Chemo.

She is using Shima Oil on her scalp and she says that it helps!

    Many thanks 2U.

  • woooo Shima, is that a dress or a top. WHere is it from. Very pretty

  • Hi Shima, happy friday : ) I do use aphogee protein and this is what keeps my hair from breaking because I want to be a Shima girl and my goal is bra strap length : )

  • Shima - i think you should try the Aphogee 2 MINUTE treatment first. I deep condition with it every 2 weeks and then i follow up with a moisturising conditioner. That 2 MINUTE is the bomb. Then work your way up to the 2 STEP.

  • if you follow instructions for the 2-step only GOOD things will happen to ur hair. The main thing is it hardens really fast so spread it liberally and do it pretty fast and then don't comb your hair once is hard lol thats why ppls hair was breaking, they were coming their hair when it was rock hard, duh of corse thats going to break your hair!!!! i'm sure u won't have any problems. if anything watch ppl applying on u tube and than it won't seem so scary;)

  • You know that the protein treatment isn't bad at all for your hair. You just have to make sure you follow the steps. A lot of people are afraid of it but it really isn't that scary. Just follow the steps and it will help your hair stay strong.

  • Hi Shima I know we are to focus on retaining our growth but I am would like to know if you gained at least a half inch with the frech braid?

  • As soon as I finish washing and remove the roller set and comb it out I will be able to tell Darice. But usually I do gain 1/2 or very close to it:):)

  • @DariceHumphries YOU ARE STUPID IT'S A STRAND BY STRAND WEAVE

  • @kanyeandrhiana332 Thank you for your insight and great vocabulary, however I don't believe that. By the way how exactly is a strand by strand weave done? Perhaps you can show us in a video!!!

  • @kanyeandrhiana332 -- Shima is not wearing a weave.... this is her hair. Get the word out that black women can grow their own hair very long and stop hating.

  • -The 2 step protein treatment by APHOGEE must be use ONLY every 6 weeks or the week BEFORE a relaxer and should NOT be use weekly or you'll have permanent damage

    - 2 Minute Keratin by Aphogee is ok to use weekly but do a moisturizing or hot treatment after or you'll end up with dry , crispy hair in 4-5 weeks

    - If your trying to grow out your hair try to flat iron or blow dry you hair once a month or less or it will DAMAGE your hair . Use a heat protectant CHI IRON GURAD OR TRESSEME

  • Wow rizeuse you are on FIRE with your Aphogee knowledge!!! Me and the rest of the Shima Girls are Benefiting IMMENSELY by this believe it or not! I wish more knowledgeable Shima Girls will chime in more!!

  • Shima !! I love your hair and your video so . Your channel promotes knowledge and sharing tips ...We're here to help each other

  • you right girl . my hair grows slow as molasses, but its growing. People asked me how do get your hair to grow so long. hey alot of patients and i alway take good care of it.

  • Hi cutie Shima !!

Even the 2 minute Keratin you have to do a moisturizing conditioner or a hot oil treatment after because protein treatments harden the hair and makes it a little stiff. Do the 2 minute Keratin and then use another type of conditioner bring back the moisture. Anytime that you do a protein treatment you have to follow with moisturizing conditioner or hot oil treatment. It's a must !

    Take care

  • Hi Shima !!

Some protein treatments does harden the hair but it's very important that you follow with a good moisturizing conditioner afterward because if you don't with time your hair will break off. Most Aphogee products are protein based (even is it says moisturizing it have protein in it if you look at the ingredients... Keratin, hydrolyzed protein ect are protein) Just wanted to share my knowledge with you..

  • And thank you for that knowledge Rizeuse! I appreciate it VERY MUCH!!!

  • You're very welcome !! Our hair is made of protein and getting a relaxer take out the protein out of our hair . Which a protein treatment is important in a hair care routine but just be careful when using them . Take care sweetie !

  • shima!!! even though you took out your breads and you wash your hair it looks pretty like that. It looks like a 80's hairstyle

  • yeah i agree, ive always loved that look too...

  • i like that dress and the hair style to girlie

  • @macaroniandchesse12: Thank you!!
