@LOLItsToastyXD No hun, a soliloquy is a monolouge addressed AT the audience. Its a metatheatrical feature used as a prolouge and epilouge in many of Shakespeares plays.
@OrlianaNyx Nice discussion were having but on a side-note, how can you spell "monologue" or even "epilogue" wrong when I spell it correctly to the post you replied to? Question mark? A soliloquy is a type of monologue but it is not directly addressed to an audience. A soliloquy can be properly described as when a character is talking to him or herself without the knowledge of an audience. Next time when you try to use words to disprove me, have better spelling and grammar. Shakespeare's* It's*
@LOLItsToastyXD Went a little psychotic while doing an essay and broke some of my keys, its an old laptop. I am currently missing a shift key, a few random brackets and ', i only have this that one because of copy and paste. The joy of technology. As for the spelling errors, different time zone, it was very very late. As for the debate over proper categorisation i believe you should take Professor J.E. Howard up on that, shes a Shakespearen Lit professor and is where i get my definition from.
@OrlianaNyx Do not rationalize your mistakes with inanimate objects for you can never move on if you do. Asking professors may be a great idea, but we are asking from their extensive knowledge on the subject. They are only human and as humans we are bound by our knowledge. She may have learned the same thing but in a different way.
@LOLItsToastyXD Aha! I have regained the use of my keys, albeit temporarily, from a stolen mac keyboard :) . Alas she is as learned as they come as she has been a Professer at Columbia for many many years and is the expert in her field. How shocked she will be when a young Canadian boy usurps her position with his vast knowledge on the subject.
lol this isn't a soliloquy, it's a monologue. Soliloquy means speaking to oneself for an audience.
