Omgz I remember when Patty Ferrell sang this on Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. She was sooooooo wonderful an beautiful! It should have been called "Patty Rules". PATTY'S BETTER YOU CATTY LOSER!!!
Now that I've listened to this a couple of times, I think this is the ONLY song where Jemima's voice was dubbed. It's likely that they dubbed it to make the "duet" portion more similar.
As a heartbreaking story of an old cat rejected by society, dubbed an untouchable, and shunned, who has to live alone with her memories of being the center of attention. The true meaning of happiness is hidden deep inside her memories of the sun. When someone touches her, after years of being untouchable the true happiness of the sum floods into her. Touching.
Helena Massie sang this song as Jemima because of Veerle's accent, right? I read that this was the only song she dubbed, but in all of Jemima's other singing parts, Jemima sounds the same as she does in Memory. Was Veerle really singing in the other songs or was Helen? Why did she only dub Memory?
Why exactly is she receiving the touch at the end in such a crooked fashion?

It is calling to The Bodyguard, and Barbara Streisand, Judith Forst, and Maureen Forrester. Quite a great show.

dubbed by whom?
shawnkevinobrien 1 year ago
@shawnkevinobrien, Helen Massie dubbed Jemima because Veerle Casteleyn's accent was too strong.

@E8900 her voice was actually dubbed, but it did not stop millions from falling in love with her wide-open face and big brown eyes.

@penguinboy2007 Then who is the voice?
LauranaAridian 5 months ago
@LauranaAridian To answer your question. This is Helen Massy singing. Massey sings mainly classical.
0404alan 4 months ago
@LauranaAridian Helen Massen is the voice.

@E8900 Unfortunately she was dubbed, cause she had an accent...so it's not her, it's Helen Massie who's singing.

@E8900 Isn't wasn't Veerle singing, her accent was too thick or this song I think...
