You still manage to put your emotion and feeling into a track tho' and that's what gives it some personality....there's some rubbish chart singers out there that make it without a good voice...personality helps too.
Maybe you could take singing lessons, most chart acts have had some sort of coaching to improve, you show a good basic understanding to start with and can build upon it.
