  • Also, you might need to update your players for dxva acceleration, some might not allow it when it is compatible, but have old dxva compat checks. ATM I'm not able to use the newest SVN builds of MPC:HC that have been fixed for the new dxva support in the ati cards, dxva accell is currently broken for me in those builds, only renders a single frame on a lot of dxva supported videos.

  • I'm not sure if it's restricted to the UVD version the card has but 2.0 and 2.2 cards(one my card has, the HD4650) should be able to do 1920x1080 at 6 reframes under xp and 16 under vista/7 by what I've heard from other people.

  • what about now, as ati released a driver the 10.4 ones, supposedly supporting 5.1 profile videos.

  • @cartman20000 yes really I need to re-test this as I'm fairly sure this is supposed to be fixed now! :-)

  • That's all screwed up O_o

Get the VLC player, it might get rid of the problem.

It might be because of the Windows Media Player's built-in H.264 decoder.

  • Yeah you're right. VLC is fine as it uses a different decoder. WMP's decoder uses the hardware decoding capabilities of the graphics card, and the ATi card can't decode this type of H.264 so it gets corrupted...
