  • Aw, she's so cute!

    Good for her.

  • Mike Marshall, did not know he was still in baseball, use to play for the Dodgers and dated Belinda Carlise.

  • thats hawt!

  • "There's no crying in baseball!"

  • 0.o yeh a chick playing major league baseball i rely dont mind a girl playing professionally but alot of people will get pissed off.........

  • nice...more power to her.

  • is it just me or you just want to HIT this girl?

  • she plays for the Chico Outlaws now I LIVE IN CHICO :)

  • Addeyduran, you sound like a 12 year old, grow up already, if women have the talent to play why not. read your baseball history , they use to say the same stupid comments about blacks and latinos.

  • Looks like she's wearing a jock strap. Why?

  • @Nomoreidsleft Maybe she has "roast beef curtains".

  • Eerie... If the newscaster is going to do a report on her, at least learn how to pronounce her name. Japanese has 5 simple vowel pronunciations, no variations. It takes seconds to learn. a i u e o = ah ee oo eh oh

  • i hope she dont play in the mlb i will never watch mlb again

  • @yankeesrock16531 what did you mean?

  • shes gonna give up the game winning homerun to the yankees in game 7 of the ALCS just like wakefield =)

  • @DaiTetsujin17

    びっくりです。170以下はだめだと思ってました。

  • @Adderlyduran

I am sorry but I have to say that you are insulting people playing in the independent leagues. They are professional players.

  • Despite the gender and height, Eri has been successfully executing the missions impossible. She is a hard worker and also has a marvelous brain. I am so happy that she can play baseball in the USA.

  • @adderlyduran

I do not know how to thank American people who gave Eri Yoshida such wonderful opportunities. As far as I know, she has been working very hard. She decided to master knuckle so that she would be able to compete men. Amazingly It worked. Eri is a female player and her height is only 155cm.

She can catch a ball like a male player. She is more brave than some male players, says former manager of Kobe 9 Cruise, Nakata where Eri used to play.

  • japan should be ashamed of doing that.... baseball is for [MEN] not girls

it docent matter if she throws 98MPH baseball is for men only, and by signing her they are insulting the sport in many ways

  • @Adderlyduran ....for men only? Insulting? You form a lot of opinions without actually giving facts....I can see someones point in Football and Basketball......its physical......but Baseball is non contact and I see no problem with it as long as the woman keeps up....if a woman can serve in the military and keep up with the men...then Baseball can take in women......you have the right to turn off your channel....BTW, the only one insulting here on this forum has been you (try to be open minded)

  • @seattle8686 ...

listen.... i don't have anything against her..... but here's whats im gonna say,.... she might have gotten in japan's major league baseball....... but there is no way in hell she's ever gonna make it to USA major league baseball.... you see,

in USA, they do fallow the rules ... and no matter how good she is or could become, major league baseball can't, and will not ever sign a woman to any team..... period

  • @Adderlyduran ....American baseball? Maybe not...maybe she could....who knows...but to say she is insulting the sport because she beat out other men is just myopic and ufair of you to say.......most Japanese players couldn't play in America (different style of baseball in the USA) and I doubt most US athletes could make it in Japan...different kind of sport there.....

  • @Adderlyduran ...MLB follows what rules? The rules do not say females are not allowed....and if anyoen has changed therules, it has been American baseball (replays, black integration, extending the season, having interleague play) all things that have made baseball better....who knows, maybe women will make it better...I'm not sure....but I am not going to say women can't do something just because it makes you uncomfortable

  • @seattle8686 im a baseball player here in Dominican republic,.... im gonna play college baseball in Indiana soon..... i always had my mind set that, if i never got signed by any team in my 4 years of college i would just give my self one last chance, in one last try-out with any pro team.......

but seeing that japan signed a girl and made her a pro.... then japan is now definitely my back up plan for professional baseball , if everything else fails

  • @Adderlyduran look at the Japan team beating America twice in the world classic.they play differently. Only Ichiro has really went to mega, super stardom in Seattle.I haven't heard of any Americans making it big in Japan and I am glad you are playing baseball and living your dreams but you are disregarding many womens dreams..You are insulting many women who might be better than many men in baseball but are never given the chance.

  • @Adderlyduran I wouldnt mind seeing a woman play especially if she ends up beating out guys like you....is that what you are afraid of? Being beat out by females? If she ends up being better than most guys out there in Japan, she deserves to play and those guys deserve to play in triple A type leagues. its very chauvinistic of you to dismiss a female simply because she is female. Do you not like women? Just curious. You haven't given ANY proof as to why females do not deserve to play....do you?

  • @seattle8686

seattle..... or what ever your name is..... she could not beat me..... because im not a batter, there for she could not pitch me, and there for she could not beat me...

    im a pitcher

and im seriously positive that i can make it to pro in japan if a girl can make it..

maybe i cant throw nucle ball's like she can...... but i can over power any batter with my fastball....

  • @Adderlyduran ...seattle or "whatever you name is"? You can call me seattle...thanks ......and if you believe she couldn't beat you, then prove it...what are you afraid of? If she is terrible, then she will be bounced out of the league like so many MEN who get bounced out because they are not good enough.....and if you can make it to the pros in Japan...do it...no one is stopiing you...and no one is stopping that woman.....maybe you can throw a knuckle ball.....but guess what....you're not

  • @Adderlyduran stop pouting that she has made it and you haven't...work hard and get to where she is and then see if you can beat her pitches......okay?

  • @Adderlyduran ...and your fastball?.....I don't know your fastball.....don't really care....tell me when you win a Cy Young in the MLB and you are blowing away Vlad Guerrero and Albert Pujols and Ichiro....then we can talk...until the, just stop bringing down this woman who has deserved her chance like anyone else

  • @seattle8686

im faster then many big leaguers , that's for sure........ or do you think 91 MPH is a bad speed?

by the way,... im not a batter for the last time...... i haven't batted since i was 13, and since im 18 now ..imagine that

but i can face any batter and be confident that i can pass them by ...

    and finally...

you say i cant make it in japan..... well lets see... just wait till i finish college, if i haven't gotten signed, with 90+MPH... ill definitely make it there

  • @Adderlyduran .....pitching 91.....not a great speed if you are a power pitcher...if you have other pitches in your arsenal, then we're talking.....and being 18 with a 91mph fastball is not much to brag about in US baseball...Strasburg touches 102mph.....but as long as you have movement on your pitches, you should be alright...especially in Japan......and I don't think I said you "batted"...a Cy Young is a pitching title......you should learn more about baseball before getting on me about things

  • @seattle8686 its actually a big thing to brag about in US, most high school kids don't even throw 85 when they graduate you see, in US players are too pampered. ... here in DR coaches just don't give a shit, and players are hungry for fortune and fame thats why the best baseball players in the world are from DR and this is the 2nd biggest producer of MLB players in the world. and another thing Stephen Strasbourg is 22 so i still have time to catch up with him

  • @Adderlyduran ......US players are too pampered? I agree......they are overpaid...but thats the free market at work.....and most Domincans would rather play in the US than in Japan....more opportunity, more money, more fame...so you should stop knocking it just because Americans pitch better than you.....otherwise you would be in the MLB right now....again, stop bringing down that woman just because she made it and you haven't.....yet.....maybe you will, maybe you won't...you determine it

  • @Adderlyduran and Strasburg did not jump 10mph from 18 to 22....he was throwing 95-98 in high school.....he was throwing 100+ in college....you have time to develop your arm too....but please...stop saying you are better than most Americans until you have proven it.......you should humble yourself to the game of baseball and all of the grets who have played the game...earn it before you put yourself up on a pedestal

  • @Adderlyduran And the D.R. represents only 10.1% of the MLB, and Venezuela is right behind you with 6.8%....US produces the best MLB players with 71.9%......I like D.R....great players........but you should stop comparing country to country...get back to your argument...you said "no females" in baseball.......why? Give me an argument...give me facts

  • @Adderlyduran ...I never said you couldn't make it in Japan...stop putting words in my mouth...you are losing your argument so you resort to lies.........All I said was that if you wanted to make it in Japan...you would do it....stop bringing down this woman who has made it...stop being jealous.....its not a gracious attitude to take....

  • @seattle8686 ok....you really dont get it.... do you seriously think there gonna let a girl play professional baseball.... she has bin playing in independent leagues.... same in the USA... and japan

independent leagues are not professional......ok there not... professional ball is MLB,.... not some weird no name team that call's them selves independent league

so....answering all your bitching.... no, she hacent made it... and never will

  • @Adderlyduran .....I think you are jealous of her fame....you should be more humble...and maybe you will be given the same opportunity...stop being afraid that a woman might be better than you

  • @seattle8686

or do you honestly think there gonna let a girl defame the name of baseball and let her play in a world class stage...... humm.....

they didn't do it in japan,.... even less in USA.... so stop saying she made it... because she hacent.. ok.... she might have made it in an independent league, but that's not professional baseball,...

that's just a group of men that aren't good enough for MLB and decided to make a different league of baseball for players like them

  • @Adderlyduran ....I think you defame the game by insulting women who enjoy the sport......women are fans...women are players....if one ends up being better than you.....stop getting hurt...don't be disrepectful...just work harder and maybe you can get as good as this Japanese woman

  • @Adderlyduran and if you are better than most big leaguers (laughing), then you would be playing or be on the radar here in America....people would have heard of you......but guess what...you are not known....you are not good enough (right now)....work hard and maybe you'll get as good as that japanese woman

  • @Adderlyduran

"because she hacent". Nice spelling, how old are you 7? At least us girls can spell a 2nd grade level word. What an idiot. Your an INSECURE MALE. That's all it is, that's all it ever is. Every man that puts a female down or thinks females don't belong in professional sports is insecure. Welcome to 2010. Times have changed and will continue to change. Don't be suprised if one day you find yourself cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids while your wife brings home the cash.

  • @Adderlyduran... by the way MLB is not the only professional league there is. Professional just means that they are paid to play. Basically a university athlete on a scholarship can also be considered a professional athlete. So, just because the league is an independant league, doesn't mean they are not professional athletes. They are being paid to play in that league and that makes them professional athletes.

  • @Adderlyduran You are just jealous, that Yoshida-san is a better baseball player than you ever will be. You must be a sexist, if you think women shouldn't play in Professional Baseball.

  • @Adderlyduran can you cite a source where it says this?

  • @Adderlyduran It's not forbidden to pitch under the age of 18 in the MLB, Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners made his debut at the age of 17. And no where in the MLB regulations says it's forbidden for women to play, it's just no woman has ever made a real effort to do it

  • @megamanxvi Hernandez was 17 when he started playing in the minors. He made his MLB debut when he was 19.

  • @Adderlyduran But, what if she does make it in MLB Baseball?

  • Not a freak show? I'm not sure the coach actually believes that.

Is she any good? Its really hard to find some baseball statistics on her (like her ERA, Hits per innings pitched, etc).

  • i live in the yuma area where the yuma scorpions play no fukin way

  • i just saw her last night with the Chico Outlaws. I am all for women in baseball but she really didnt do any justice. they had to take her out in the 2nd inning.

  • 1:25 HOLY SHIT WTF IS THAT IN FRONT OF HER! is she the other female trying to play?

  • Type Eri Yoshida in FB and join her fan page.

  • @IFknHateUTube Yeah well, too bad you have no chance.

  • i can strike the batter out with something better... a knuckle sandwich.

  • Who the fuck narrated this video. It sounds like Meg but twice as annoying.

  • good for her .... gotta give her props !!!

  • Eri starts tonight! 7:00 PM Pacific! Chico Outlaws!

  • lick my balls

  • Her knucklers go about 55 mph, I wouldn't be surprised if people hit her pitches.

  • Hey, small world, it's the Scorpions!

I've actually seen them play. The GBL is so obsure that I never expected a video related to it get featured.

  • thought i think this is cool...you have to have more than 1 pitch. and her fastball is only 77mph...idk how that would go in the MLB

  • @fastcarfastbike Jamie Moyer's average fastball is currently around 80.5 mph and his slowest pitch was a 70mph curve. Great control compensates for lack of power.

  • @fastcarfastbike 77 mph is pretty impressive for a girl

and pretty close to some great picthers, Barry Zito fastball isnt that faster then 77, and maddux fastball was close to the low 80's then the 90's, if she adds 3 or 4 mph to the fastball and her knuckleball is devastating she have a shot

  • I hear her fastball is a sort of gyroball. if you have never heard gyroball, look it up on wikipedia. and there is a video about her strange fastball. check out "Eri Yoshida's fastball" which is on my chanel.

  • @junmengo 77 mph is pretty impressive, regardless of her gender, you ass hat. I bet you don't even drive 77 on the highway...........

  • @fastcarfastbike Think about it. Time Wakefield's fastball is in the high 70's/low 80's. If she can establish herself as a good knuckleballer (a vanishing population), perhaps she has a shot.

  • @Fergit3 this is indeed true...but i've also seen wakefield reach back for one, and hit 85 on the gun....

in other theory, this girl could test my theory that, if a pitcher is used to seeing 90mph balls, how would they adjust to a 70mph fastball as a once through, against a relief pitcher...idk if they could it hit...lol

  • Anyone else almost get their eardrums blown out?

  • @YuanMizzle Thanks for the warning.

  • I hope she goes as far as her talent will take her. Being a knuckleball pitcher is an art form. Ganbatte!

  • she'll take one comebacker off the shin and she'll quit

  • baseball is gay sports. hahaha

  • If Yoshida can learn to hold runners close, she'd be the biggest gate attraction since David Clyde for the Rangers in '73. It wouldn't suprise me to see a West coast MLB team sign her; the publicity alone would pay her salary. I wish her all the luck!

  • i still cant take the ambidextrous pitcher too serious and there's more to pithing than throwing, an inch could be the difference between a put out or splitting between the 3 and 4

  • oh whats baseball turning to? She is like 3' 2"

  • @usmarinect she is 155cm (5'1") in height

  • weird women in USA dont really play baseball... Softball is big though.

  • i'd hit it.

  • @worldofthablind U probly would i bet u like sweaty crotch

  • @SonDimz Yes sir. I'm salivating just thinking of sweaty japanese girl crotch.

  • Come on, I know your joking but let's show her a little respect. We can't just keep treating all girls like sexual objects every time we see a nice figure

This girl has skills and a damn good pitch.

If you got game, you got game. You play with anyone.

  • @gundamWWW hell yea she has talent! And I'm not joking. I would love a chance at that magnificent specimen of feminine beauty!

And I will have you know Sir, I most certainly do NOT treat all ladies as sexual objects!

Just the one's who are sexually appealing....

  • Go Eri, Go!!! Sexists always try to keep women down, but justice will prevail if we keep up the struggle.

  • hippie

  • Yes case in point the WNBA. the girls just can't hold a candle to the men.

  • Nothing more than a publicity stunt.

  • 1:24 Since when did "whale" become a position in baseball?

  • holy crap im actualy taller than her! i hate genetics some times......

  • no 99 % of girls fucking suck at baseball she gonna be the only one that even plays minor leauges she prob will never get moved up past AA ball prob will do very avrage too

  • @CRstud2464 shes not even in the minors shes only in an independent leauge

  • How fast does she throw?

  • I've been pronouncing my name wrong all these years?

    Everybody pronounces my name Eddie...

  • i hope she turns pro and shes like the first women pro baseball player cuz i saw her first game in america haha

  • Eri's pretty sick, it'd be awesome if she went pro!

  • It's EH-RI. Or Eh-Li

  • go eri!!!
