  • Is it any wonder this album remains the quintessential folk album of all time, it is simply the apex of its genre. Fairport and Steeleye are simply heads and neck above the collective experience.

  • This gives me so joyful feelings so I want to run all the way to Britain and join them.

  • well this is epic

  • It seems so easy...until the guitars, bass, violin and drums kick in. ....

  • Either someone hit the 'dislike' button by mistake, or else they have no taste and know nothing whatsoever about music!

This is fantastic; this medly always makes me want to get up and jig!

    :)

  • It's amazing; coming to a fairport track on youtube and there's only 11 comments. I feel sort of special when I listen to them.

  • fantastic track.

  • Man, that fiddle is delicious.

  • Brilliant track!

  • I saw them many times. . Please note though, that these are great English musicians playing great IRISH music!

  • Just looking at the personnel in this band. They were all wonderful.

  • A great chance for new boy Swarb to show off his redoubtable chops. How could you not dance to this?

Incidentally, as far as I know, there are only two albums of sufficient status to be played live in their entirity by surviving members over 30 years after their release; Love's classic 'Forever Changes', with only Arthur Lee from the original album cast - and, of course, 'Liege and Lief' at Cropredy 2007, with all the 5 male original members and Chris While heroically standing in for Sandy.

  • @catweasel28

2 of me favourites groups, no less. I was fortunate enough to witness the Arthur Lee "Forever Changes" gig in Portland, OR. Now if only I could've seen the Liege and Lief gig, wow! 2 of my fave LP's of All-Time.

  • Durante años esta fue la sintonía de mi programa ;-)

  • When this album came out it floored me. They did for Traditional Eng. folk music what The Band did for North Amer. Folk Tradition. DAVE MADDOCKS PLAYING IS BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!! One of the best albums of that era, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

  • Oh my god i have found it! I love this song ! thanks for posting this song! i truly love you haha

  • Swarbricks violin sounds so great. He was a great singer too. Listen to "Now be Thankful" on yt as well. Thanks very much for this vid.

  • I love 'Now be Thankful'! Swarbrick truly was incredible.
