  • I am an Orthodox christian and i dont believe woman should be priests for the simple reason that it was eve who led adam to sin and the bible says woman shoud stay silent but it doesnt mean she cant help in the church. There are alots of things woman can do in the church. God bless you and we should encourage more of this

  • The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

    Luke 11:31

  • very well said its not a matter of value its a matter of Gods order God Bless sister

  • The reson the Lord wants women in a lesser prominant roll "when the saints are gatjered" is to acknowledge original sin through this age and through the 1000 year teaching period of the Lord before we enter the fathers prescense for eternaty...can't you see it's about sin and what we did with satan??? If He wants it this way then so be it!! It's about our lining up with satan and rejecting Gods rule and womens prominant roll in the fall..not about sexism or man ruleing, IT'S WHAT GOD REQUIRES!!

  • @poobear1ful Seems to be what Paul requires. Women's prominent role in the fall???

    Autumn??????

  • Man this is refreshing!! Is this woman married?? wow I need a wife like her lol...God bless you sister....Moses (1 of the 2 witnesses of revelation)

  • There is a special quality that GOD puts in women and that is SOFTNESS. In other words gentleness. We are all equal before God.

In this modern times women foremost should know her identity in Christ. Every men and women need to have a personal relationship with CHRIST. Out from that relationship GOD will extend the responsiblity of women whenever He sees fit. GOD has to be the one who call the shots, not the husbands not the women herself.

  • Very well done. Amen! Praise God!.

  • I have long suspected that women had roles of leadership in the earliest churches. But as the church began to settle in for the long run male domination was once again confirmed and so do later, much later, than Paul documents like Timothy re assert the place of women which is both figuratively and literally beneath a man. It is not gender but skills, talents, etc that determine one's fitness for leadership. I am betting God does not favor men over women for roles of leadership. If wrong...sorry

  • @MusingsFromTheJohn I don't believe that the creator of 170+bn galaxies is a male or female. We are all equals under God. It makes no sense to have an intercessor male (husband or other) between ourselves and God. I think many biblical passages have been used to eg. codify slavery and racism but we know better now. Many churches have female pastors and they have not burnt to the ground.

  • I respect your view, but I believe the idea that women should be pastors to be anachronistic. That belief superimposes feminist values that have only prevailed in the last half century or so on an institution that has been around for 2000 years.

  • There are some roles in the church that women can do. I take serious issues when women want to be a pastor or a husband.

  • I dont see my comments so I take it you didnt allow them to be posted ? why ? What are you saying is wrong, nowhere in the bible does it say women can;'t preached. The scriptures your using is speaking only about husbands and wives.

  • Gal.3:[28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

This scripture is saying that we are all one, whether you are a male or a female, in the body of Christ, Christ is the head and male and female make up the body. In the body of Christ men are not the head, Christ is the head, we male and female are his body. There is no scripture in the bible saying women can't preach at all. That's man made doctrine

  • Adam the husband was created first but remember Adam and Eve were husband and wife, clearly verse 15 says she shall be saved in CHILDbearing. It is a sin for an unwed women to have a child. so clearly the scirpture is not speaking about unmarried women. But " THE " man refers to 1 particular man THE husband. The wife is not to exercise or take by force authority over her husband because he is the head. This scripture is speaking only of husbands and wives, not about women preaching at all.

  • Sorry but you are wrong about 1tim.2:12. This passage of scripture has nothing at all to do with women being pastors or preachers in the church. First the verse does not say a women cannot exercise authority over " A " man. The verse says " THE 'man, A man is an indefinite article, where as THE man is a definite articular speaking of 1 particular man. Who is THE man, Adam is THE man over Eve.

The man is the husband all this verse is saying is a wife cant usurp authority over her husband.

  • this is the first video I watch in which a woman hold that position, God bless you.

  • Where there any Christian temples back then? The church in Corinth and others were holding services in Homes right? I dont know if i have a point just questions. Is there a possibility that Paul was talking about a Jewish temple. Forgive me if i dont make sense.

But i am also trying to learn more bout the subject.

  • @MauricioPerez1969 No. The first followers of Christ, met in homes. Here is an interesting article.

Introduction to the Book of 1 Corinthians--Julian Spriggs, M.A. julian spriggs com 1Corinthians aspx

  • "Excellent!"

  • Why did Eve slip into transgression (sexual immorality)? Because she was not satisfied with the role God gave her. And through transgression, she spiritually castrated Adam, so that he would worship her instead of God. This is the same reason why women refuse to accept the role God gave them today. Roles exist , not because one person is better than the other, but because you need roles to establish order and be productive, just like in the work place. Outside of order there is only confusion.

  • @tbursee Good point.

  • Actually, 1 Tim 2:11-13, does not forbid women from preaching or teaching. The words mistranslated "a woman" and "a man" should be translated "a wife" and "a husband." The passage is speaking in the context of husband/wife relationship. It is NOT about male/female as generally believed based on English mistranslations of the original Greek words.

  • TItus 2: 3-5 will tell you that a woman is to teach over younger women to teach them to be a good to their husband and to be a good mother to children. KJV is the true word of God !

  • @CRoadwarrior You are right in what you are saying, but no it was not mistranslated, people today dont understand the way Paul wrote, even Peter said something Paul wrote was hard to understand. The is a definite article speaking of a particular person/man. Paul speaks of THE man Adam and the woman Eve, husband and wife. All Paul is saying is that the wife is not to usurp authority over her husband. True this has nothing at all to do with preaching over any men. Its about husband and wife only.

  • @CRoadwarrior - You've got this completely inside out. The Gk. words used primarily mean male and female. The Greeks had no words for husband/wife, and it is only context that requires aner/gune to be translated husband/wife as in, for example, I Tim.3:2

  • @CRoadwarrior BTW - The assertion that Paul is discussing domestic affairs and not church life is just silly. I & II Tim, and Titus are the PASTORAL epistles. Look back a few verses and see that Paul wrote specifically to regulate how we are to conduct ourselves in CHURCH. - I Tim.3:14-15

  • @CRoadwarrior Strong's-woman-'gyne'-1.a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow.

    2.a wife. 3. of a betrothed woman.

Thus the primary definition in verses 11-13 is a virgin, married or widow, secondary a wife.

    In verse 12-Man-is-'aner'-a.male b.husband c. future husband.

In verse 13-it speaks of Adam, who was first formed then Eve.

  • Read Timothy and follow it. Women can work in the church in many operations but just not Head / Preacher.

If you think other, Go your way.

  • Check out the "real id act 2005" This is the mark of the beast buy 2014 and 2017 you are mandated by the gov to give you live scan and dna in exchange for a number a Id card. Do your research and make your sound choice! Yes the SABBATH IS RIGHT.

  • Aint it funny the Bible is against women teaching and you agree but what are you doing on this video what a joke

  • @thegoodsonof7 She is not speaking in a church here; it's a YouTube video~

  • Tell the truth your going into captivity if you believe the Book is the truth you must believe every word your people are the enemy of the Most High all people can not be saved salvation is only for the Jews the origanal Jews not the false ones of today Christ said I am only sent for the lost sheep of the house of Israel

  • You are correct but in error with your faith the Bible says he that leadeth into captivity will go into captivity and if you think ur gettin away the Bible says prepare slaughter for their children for the iniquities of their fathers there is no escape for your race or any other that enslaved the house of IsraelDeut 28:68 your works faith and belief are in vein

  • GOD bless your soul.

  • great job :)

  • There is much to said concerning the roles that God has ordained for women.

These roles that are especially designed for women are both noble and honorable, and God has purposed that we fullfill them to his glory and praise.

Women are to be subservient to the order that God has established for his body,as are men.

The weight of responsibilty is heavier upon men,who as in the old are commanded to lead their families as a priest under Messiah our high preist.

    1 Tim 3:5

    Hebrews 3:2

  • We need to faithful to the role that God has called us to as women and men.

The example in the Old bears witness to the New.

Women were called prophetesses in the past because their husbands were prophets.

Example,Isaiah says 'I went to the prophetess and she conceived.'

    8:3

So in the new,Phebe is called a deakonos due to the office of her husband, for in the sight of God they are not two,but one.

Scripture never contradicts itself, though men often times do.

  • The quote from Galatians speaks of our standing in Messiah that there is neither male nor female,But He is all in all.

Peter would go on to say that men ought to bestow honor to women as being complete co-heirs of the divine Spirit.

    1 Peter 3:7

However there remains the obvious distinction between men and women, thus the differing roles that God has ordained for us.

While women may prophesy along side men, prophecy is not the same as teaching/preaching,this office God has reserved 4 men.

  • Jesus loves you!!

  • ok here's more proof!

  • I think you did a great job with that, nailed it right on the head!

  • You see, I don't believe that the male roles are actually privileged. SO, just because a Man of the cloth has a different role than women, that doesn't necessarily mean it's more desirable. Personally, I believe the Maternal role grants the absolute most privilege in society. I also believe that the average female spouse holds a great deal of influence which generally exceeds that of her husband. But, unfortunately, these options are not given consideration.

  • I don't see the first part of my comment and I ran out of space... I forgot where I left off... haha... I will come back later and try again.

  • I moderate comments, which is why it didn't appear. Too many people can't be civil so comments don't get through until I see them, which may be a few minutes, or may be up to 3 days.

  • I would say, why is it preaching or silence? I am Catholic so I have a different perspective.. but to cut to the chase, just because women cannot be priests, DOES NOT mean that they are oppressed. I think that women and men have different roles, but they are not polar opposites and some of the things in each role can overlap...

Some of the greatest Saints of the church are women! One woman is even a Doctor of the Church (highly, highly esteemed Saints in the Catholic church) and there are...

  • Good video - there is reason however, to believe in those cases where it seems to prohibit women teaching that it is refering to a husband/wife issue (see Greg Koukl "Women Teach in Church?). As I've mentioned elsewhere, there are many Godly women who definitely have the wisdom and knowledge to speak before a mixed assembly and I question whether we can afford not to let them do so.

  • V, There's a character limit so I will respond in more detail in e-mail, if you wish.

Gladys Aylward was a highly effective missionary to china in the early 20th century, and a woman. Corrie Ten Boom was a worldwide teacher. Wikipedia has more.

The first question is simple. Why is a woman allowed to prophesy but not to preach or teach, in your view?

  • From a literal perspective I can't prove that slavery should be abolished. I just know that it was a fact of life in Bible times and was quite different than the slavery which America experienced in the early days. I do believe it's wrong, but I wouldn't use the Bible to prove that.

  • @newbirth35 There was Voluntary and Involuntary slavery. Involuntary or servitude was the ability to pay off debts. Lawyers, business owners, blue collar workers worked off debt this way. The Bible prescribes more humane ways to treat slaves, servants. With the invading Countries. slavery was very common.

  • Well studied, Victoria. Three questions:

    1) Why are women able to prophesy, but not preach or teach? Prophecy is usually considered a priority gift.

    2) Consider women such as Gladys Aylward or Corrie Ten Boom. Were they in error to do as they did?

    3) From a purely literal perspective, would you argue that it is God's will that slavery should be abolished? How would you prove this from the Bible without proof-texting?

    Well done.

  • There's a lot of stuff I don't know. I don't understand your first question and don't know why God doesn't allow women to preach and teach men. I just know that's what the Bible says.

I have never heard of Gladys and don't know enough about Corrie Ten Boom to respond. What is it she did that you think I might not approve of?

  • "I just know that's what the Bible says."

With respect, I think you understand what the letter of the Bible says. But I don't believe we can say we understand the Bible if we don't understand the reason -- the spirit -- in which it was given (2 Cor. 3:14-16).

Same with Jesus contradicting Moses on divorce. Jesus understood the spirit and intent of the letter, which is different from what a too-literal reading of the law (Deut 24:1) would imply.

  • Last thought.

Many arguments in favor of women teaching depend on the prophetess verses -- those arguments assume that "prophecy" and "teaching/preaching" are synonyms.

You don't seem to believe that. So what is the difference between them? And why are women allowed to do the one but not the other?

  • I define it in the video - edification, encouragement, counseling, and consolation. I have no problem with a woman speaking a word from God if she receives it, but it's not something done in my church, and usually done wrongly in petacostal churches.

Teaching/preaching would be explaining biblical passages to men, such as during a sermon. I do not believe women should do this.

  • I'm a female and i'm strongly against women pastors, and women preachers at the congregation! of course we can preach to the souls on the streets, but not in the church, because God said that we must remain in silent!

  • you said that right sis

  • what about talking to other believers? Or singing? Or teaching SUnday School?
