the cross was actually both holy to some and horrible to others. it was used by the romans as an object of execution and earlier as an object of death warning the enemies against taking the fight to the kings of old, but in some cultures it was an object of protection mainly to the norse and anglo-saxons which thus brought it into modern times as a holy object.

so what i'm trying to say is... a cross could become a totem - as a sign of the afterlife (in western countries it's almost a sign of christianity) so most "christian" vampires would hold a cross as their totem. but as said, many movies made the mistake, that an outmade opponent of the church must be vurnerable to any "sacred" item - like a cross. that's not to be found in the real lore.

actually in lore terms it makes sense to put on a cross. see like in the dracula movie where vlad curses christianity over the death of his wife. blood spills out and it's the objective of the curse he puts on the church and on himself, which quite means he only doesn't like the christianity but it can't hurt him - though the sun does for example (which is also in the story about kain becoming first vampire - there never was a curse to be vulnerable to crosses, that's just made up and common...

actualy it's nothing like pwi, u get a talent tree after lvl 20 and it has a party que system so that you don't have to world chat to find squad members. Also has more classes and races, none of that Chinese lore crap, as well as a need/greed drop system. After fwi comes out pwi will be outdated (assuming it already isn't with it's considerately high drop in players this year).

at least, in ddo, if you need explore the world/dungeons, there is puzzles, traps, your moves influence the gameplay and a lot more.

DDO and GW, are original in their game style... this game has nothing new to offer... there's a lot of creatures simply walking the field without a reason. *sad*

Some people want new kinds of games, because, when one has seen the graphics they tend to lose more and more interest to one, and the gameplay at its core becomes more and more important for continued interest.

Old graphic engine is old, as in the high settings on this game look like MW2s low settings, it doesn't do anything new for the genre in that aspect.

2. Quest system is the same kill xxx amount of mobs return to base, rinse repeat.

3. I QT'd this game before the beta, quest system is still rehashed korean/chinese grind.

4. Combat system is point and click, aka you will be grinding alot in this game, killing random mobs mindlessly.

5. Gathering system is rehashed grind.

Basically in a sum what I was saying is it lacks ingenuity, which hurts alot to me, being an avid fan of the genre. If you feel the urge to fall asleep while playing a game and you're not tired, I'd say it kinda kills the whole ingenuity or excitement part of the game. Independent developers have been focusing alot more on this, to keep things from getting stale.
