I make this all the time. The secret is to make sure the rice is very hot. It cooks the egg to the soft-scrambled stage...just barely runny. If your egg does not cook, then your rice was not hot enough. Just microwave it for a minute or two and it will be fine.

BTW: I learned to make this in Japan, so I am pretty sure I have the correct recipe.

Don't worry folks. The egg isn't raw. This dish is called Sticky Egg Rice, and is a Japanese Comfort Food. The secret is that you use very,very hot rice,preferably just cooked, or microwaved to get it as hot as possible. The heat front the rice actually cooks the egg. It is absolutely delicious. One of my favorite egg dishes.

its fresh this egg every morning take it off.

the rice called Yumegokochi. every morning cooked,of course. Firstly you make a hole rice ball center with chop sticks. Secondly you look for flatnesa (of table) softly beaten egg shell cracked

and drop in a rice center. like this. Thirdly you go to drop a egg exclusive use soy-souce little by little.

and you can get green onion, nori(dried seaweed )

@KikyoChanXD Presuming it's fresh and washed thoroughly, then any egg is relatively safe to eat raw. Bacteria like salmonella are found on the shell, not inside the egg. Standards for eggs are indeed higher in Japan, but if you can find a reputable local farmer and don't mind giving your eggs a quick hand wash, then eating them raw is fine. The issue with store bought eggs is really more to do with how they travel, sit on a grocery shelf and lose flavour. It doesn't matter if they're organic.

@CutiePie4325 gohan is basically rice cooked the japanese way using a process of washing that removes as much starch as possible. tomago is egg. imasu is a sentence ending but i can't explain it properly, im not that good at japanese xD basically is similar to a positive acknowledgement of something he is doing. nori and negi you already know. anything outside of those, yes, he may very well be insulting you xDD

Im not asian and I love it- but I use fresh organic eggs and

I boil them for about 5-6 minutes cause I dont like my eggs

quite so runny and loose-- and the nori and green onions

are perfect plus you really dont need to add soy either

For protection you can pre-wash the eggshell...most people don't know but the bacteria is only on the outer shell, never in the inside of the egg. Food only becomes contaminated when it gets in contact with the outer shell.

the risk of getting salmonella is THE SAME for consuming ANY raw foods. this isn't something exceptional to eggs.

@BobbyFilmz Not really. Some foods are esp susceptible to salmonella like eggs.Raw beef and Lamb for example are much less likely to carry salmonella. Vegies also are not salmonella friendly. These relatively safer foods could still carry salmonella in certain circumstances but they are much harder for salmonella to take hold than say Eggs.

@trent8002003 True when you say raw eggs, people automatically assume SALMONELLA, however I remember the '08 mass recall of cantaloupe and jalapeno peppers and that SHOULD'VE been the turning point; though I see that it was not. It may not be 'salmonella friendly', but that certainly doesn't exclude them from such things.

Also keep in mind that another issue here is attacking the culinary culture of Japan. I'm sure they are much less worried about trivial things such as salmonella w/ modern meds
