I believe that Kiri Te Kanawa is the epitome of the Maori culture.I am a very proud maori myself, how very dare you to say that this does not reflect the maori culture. She is the ideal maori women, and she has made all us maori proud. She is a true New Zealander.

She does have a good voice you know. You may not like opera but that doesn't mean she's a 'fake' and 'stupidly pretentious old cow'. And by the way, have you ever tried singing outdoors in such a huge place without any mikes and NOT end up shredding your vocal cords? It isn't even humanly possible unless you have a huge, dramatic, Wagnerian sound - which Kiri doesn't have. She's a lyric soprano, not a dramatic soprano.

Not sick enough to rubbish my own people and if I see a young compatriot who's worked their arse off building a career and become very successful I don't call them a fake because I resent their stealing the limelight. That's bloody sick.
