Speedometers are wrong at high speed. You get the real speed by GPS. For example, highest speed for BMW M6 G-power is by speedometer 372, but the world record for the fastest BMW is 367 km/h.

with free motorway it's no problem to drive that fast- it's not crazy. My "family-car" (a Carlsson-Citroen C5 with additional tuning does 260km/h, but last week I had the luck to drive a Mercedes SLS AMG with additonal turbo-charging, it has 740 HP and topspeed is 360 km/h- this car dit the speed without any problem and with very, very little noise. 0-100km in 3.5s and 0-200km in 11s- that was amazing- but it didn't feel dangerous!

You can buy it without the limiter, without BMW ripping you off $6,000 just to get something stupid like that done.

These cars are actually limited to 155 whereas the new XFR can power on to 160+ before the limiter kicks in.

You can buy it without the limiter through BMW's European Delivery program, or you can simply remove it with software. My M6 was bought through european delivery. Top speed is 332 km/h or 206.29 mph completely stock.

Well basicly it's a sports saloon car. Four doors and a big boot at the back. That's the catch of M5 and M3 - on the outside they are normal saloons - under the hood, there is a different story.

Any way... i still claim that a bike like R6, R1, CBR RR1000 would be blown away on a tight, twisty track. Motors have the advantage only the straights and faster corners (and ofcourse at the braking points)

The M6 and M5 that were tested at the Nurburgring are the only cars to post lap times with a speed limiter ever. The M5 has proven to be quicker than the pre facelift Carrera 2s around many other tracks without the limiter, and the 2009 M6 w/ the optional Competition Package is 3 secs faster than the R8 around Silverstone. The M6 could get a under 7 minute time at the ring if the test were conducted by the Manufacturer with a non restricted vehicle.

Although an M6 is an impressive vehicle, as with the m5., However under 7 secs around the ring would be surely way out of reach, deristricting would only increase top speed which you would get no where near that on the ring

With the Competition Package it should be in the 7:50s time around the Nurburgring. Actually I believe that with a factory run lap it would be in the 7:50s even without the Package. The M5 has proven to be just as fast as the Carrera S around other tracks, I see no reason why the M6 can't equal or better a car that has been equalled by its heavier sibling and that it has blown away on other tracks before.

Well acceleration is the bikes only advantage - it fails at any other. A family saloon car blows it on the track ;)
