  • Are you people fucking retarded? Brian Jones obviously was the whole band. What came after his death? Mick dancing around like a fucking anorexic rooster, and Keith trying to look cool while playing a terrible riff, over and over, and over again.God damn talentless attention whores. Fuck the rolling stones, long live Brian Jones

  • Thanks for posting.

Although the Stones continued to be a great band after Brian Jones (their best work probably the run of albums which start with "Beggars" and ends with "Goat's Head"), they certainly lost something when they lost him. Never again would we get the textures of Aftermath, etc.

I thought Keith's book a rather mean spirited piece of work, claiming the Stones were originally Stu's band, and that Taylor was dumped because he wasn't a party animal. (Too professional).

  • @iangordoncraig They really became a different band with Taylor. He's an amazing guitarist but maybe not so much rock n roll as a person. Ronnie is IMHO the perfect Stone in that sense. Great musician, more rock n roll and don't mind to stand back for Keith who is an jealous and bitter bastard at times (I agree about "Life"). I like the 60's Stones better because they were more experimental. The glimmers tried differnt things and they had Brian to bring in new sounds. Great band!

  • @atticthoughts I certainly love Ronnie, and was a Faces fan. But it never made sense to me to have 2 so similar guitarists in the band. Thanks again for the posts. Keep up the good work.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song being played at 8 min?

  • alleen voor ned; kijk het en luister het is een kracht het liefst onderdukt te mooi te gelijk te goed GOD STAR zo noemen we dit. injoy us

  • GOD STAR. if ever there was one

  • denk je ik ken er nog wel een paar

  • @marchel26666 o.k je weet met hij wie omging ?

  • Cool stuff.

  • Thanks for uploading this.

  • The Rolling Stones really began when Keef and Mick bumped into each other on the Dartford Commuter Rail, make no mistake about it. If they hadn't found Brian, they'd have found somebody else. I think the Glimmers knew Stu and Charlie before Brian did.

  • @gadflyonthewall001 I know that Keith really want that to be true but it isn't. Little Boy Blue didn't became the Rolling Stones. I haven't come across anything that support that the glimmers knew Stu or Charlie before they saw Brian on stage. They all met that night. Brian started what became Stones together with Stu and worked his a** off to make it happend in the beginning. He deserves credit for that. The glimmers may indeed have found somebody else but it wouldn't have been the Stones.

  • @atticthoughts at least the name would have been different which in numerology that means a different kinda path altogether n that's the truth sorry to intrude on yer conversation i saw the comment and had to say it ... god bless him

  • Damn I like listening to him when he's sober. Sharp little blade.

  • Also mate, spotted 'Brian Jones, Complete Solo Works. Vol 1' in the sidebar to the left, is it genuine? Sounds it, you're pretty much the authority on it though!

  • @richievegas01 Oh, I'm no authority. I'm just a fan of Mr Jones. :) The Complete Solo Works has nothing to with Brian IMHO and I base that on two things. 1. It sounds very modern, digital and clean. If a genuine Brian recording would surface it would most likely be a bit noisy such as bootlegs often are, 2. The sound doesn't fit the description of the rumoured Cotchford Tapes or his Gnaoua recordings. But the person who did the work was maybe inspired by the Jajouka album or Gomper?

  • @atticthoughts Thanks for that. Yeah, it does sound very modern, if it was a bootleg like you say, it would sound pretty muddy, as they wouldn't have been able to remaster it properly. The idea of Brian Bootlegs are tantilising though, considering how much of his material went walkabout. Wonder if Tom Keylock knows where they got to? Then again, he ain't saying!

  • @richievegas01 The Gnaoua recordings are said to have been abandoned by Brian since he was unhappy with the sound quality. Instead he went on with the Jajouka project. The "Cotchford Tapes" is or was owned by a guy namned James Karnbach who found it at a studio in London (maybe Olympic). It was a tape that was labled "Brian Jones" and some ttles and James took it. People who have listen to it say it sounds very genuine with blues rock numbers and a song that Brian produced for the Bombay Sisters

  • @richievegas01 I don't think that Tom cared much for Brian's tapes. They were probably thrown in the bon-fire along with Brian's clothes. But I don't think that Brian recorded the songs at Cotchford since his music room was quite small. A studio would have been better and in those days recordings made were usually held in the studio. The tapes Brian had at home were copies wich may explain how James managed to find the original "Cotchford Tapes". But remember, it's still just rumours. :)

  • @atticthoughts Thank you for sharing your precise thought along with this great radio docu!

  • thanks!! this is quality :)

  • @Spiderrico123 Glad you liked it. :)

  • @atticthoughts Result! Heard this when it was first on. Cool that Paul Jones presented it, one of Brian's contemporaries.
