@hancock06 the global climate has been fluxuating in patterns of warming and cooling for milenia. In the seventies people were worried about global cooling and wanted to go melt the ice caps in antarctica. So even if global warming is occurring it is completely natural and will eventually reverse itself.
Floods are getting worse all the time why? A big part is the farmers and all the ditching they do. after 1970 when every farmer bought big horse power equipment. They now have the tools to fill and drain every swamp and large pot hole on THEIR land. When doing that in the spring it sends all the water to the rivers and cause damage to others property. No buddy will hold the farmers accountable or water shed board accountable for causing the destruction.
People who have to understand that Fargo/Moorhead are on a river that flows North! So when we get warmer in the southern part of Minnesota, it thaws out all of the snow, which has to go North where the river is still covered in ice. Too Much Snow & a frozen river adds up to a catastrophe for Fargo, Grand Forks, etc.
If it wasn't for such fantastic volunteers, the city would have been under water! I applaud the citizens for their tenacity, and the volunteers for their gracious spirit!

This is not global warming it is farmers able now with bigger equipment to be able to leavle and drain sections of land at a time. So it hits the river faster instead of sitting in the fields. It is also the county building bigger ditch so the water hits the river faster. Until someone fixes that the cities will keep getting hit with higher floods waters every year.

As a community, Fargo and Moorhead proved that we can pull together and beat record flooding. ?! its fricking cold and the water could be sweeping there streets 50 mph in a week! -not to scare- but HELLO they would clearly drown, and there could be loved pets or babies or elders so DUH
Rottiword should stay out of things he knows nothing about. I am from Fargo, it's not that way. Yes if you are out of city limits you have to buy bags not inside.
tim has been sandbagging in their neighbourhood all week, and Moorehead, Minnesota cut them off of sand several days ago, ordered them to evacuate, and threatened to cut off their power, water if they did not comply. The state of Minnesota has a law that states a resident cannot be ordered off of their property when they are trying to save it.
When they were cut off from services, the whole neighbourhood agreed to buy their own sand. $500/load.
You are lieing-- and it's spelled Moorhead. Where are you even from? Our National Guard worked miracles for us. The mayor is a humble, Christian fellow. There's no way that city that the city could keep track of the millions of sandbags to charge folks even if they wanted. The city brought sand and bags to neighborhoods where volunteers bagged them. When the Guard built secondary dikes, it was a choice that had to be made for the safety of the rest of the town. Hard choices had to be made...
The City said every day that though it was evacuating, it would not make folks leave their property. Indeed, it relied upon folks to watch their dikes. If you did choose to leave, the city asked you to report so they knew the house would be empty. It would then turn off the power so you or neighbors would not be electrocuted. Clearly, Rotti, you are an angry 12 year old with limited understanding or comprehension about the happenings in town. You need to see your school counselor for guidance.
rottiworld you're a fucking retard, *Moorhead* and Fargo have both been supplying sandbags to residents within the city limits, and that thing about threatening to cut of the power/water was probably misinterpreted, what they most likely said was that their water/power lines could be damaged by the flood and therefore they may shut down.
are you even from Fargo/Moorhead? because if you're not, stop talking shit, because you have no idea how fucking hard we worked to save our city.
Yesterday alone, they brought in 11 loads. The National Guard was refusing to allow 100s of volunteers (friends, family, strangers from surrounding states in).
The Red River is just behind Tim's across-the-street neighbour. He happens to be an engineer so he set up all the markers in the neighbourhood for the dike levels to be achieved. When the engineers hired by the city of Moorehead arrived, they said "why are you making your dikes one foot higher than you have been instructed?"
The neighbour engineer said we aren't. I'm an engineer and this is so and so feet. Neighbour engineer knows he is right and scratches his head. He finally calls the head of the Houston engineering firm that was hired by Moorehead and HE TAPES THE CONVERSATION. The head guy tells him that they were ordered by Moorehead to measure all of the dikes one foot lower than what they actually needed.
Turns out the government of Moorehead is an incestuous bunch running the city in big red numbers. They PLANNED for the city to go underwater so they could get big federal disaster dollars.
Tim's neighbourhood is filled with lawyers, engineers, etc. They have been so busy trying to save their houses, but they know one thing. They are going to sue the crap out of the City of Moorehead and go national with the truth.

Do you guys remember the movie, Day after Tomorrow, well this is just the tip of the Ice Berg, what is to come is going to be much worst people, so hang onto yourselves, God is not through with this Country! His wrath is coming upon America, for she has forsaken her first love, and turned her back on God Almighty, when you remove God's Moral Law from the Schools, and then the Courtrooms, then the work place, what do you think will happen?A world without God, will leave chaos and confusion, death!
You're comparing this event to the Day After Tomorrow? Are you serious? This is a disaster of epic proportions, yes, but its nothing like the tornadoes in LA and floods in NY that are depicted in the Movie. I think if god really wanted to show his "wrath" I think he would choose a different city other than Fargo/Moorhead. I think you are just a little crazy.
Did I not say, that this event is just the tip of the Ice berg? Im not crazy, but you may be, if you don't think that we are in the End Times! Next time, pay close attention to what the comment actually said! Maybe you should try watching the world news, other then trying to correct me on a comment I made! Because you haven't seen nothing yet son!As I writhe this, there are tornadoes in Oklahoma tearing up stuff, and floods in India in Indonesia! But you don't see them reporting that now do ya?
Well dvining40us most of us don't recognize movie writers as credible climatological or meteorological scientists. The process of creating an ice age takes millenia, not days or weeks. Second of all, North Dakota has one of the more religious population distributions in the country so if God is punishing us by flooding, I don't get his angle.
Actually climate change could be responsible for such an event. You see when the air temperature at the poles rises a few degrees (and I am not saying that this is caused by humankind; maybe something else is happening) the ice caps shrink dumping millions of gallons of cold water into the Earth's oceans. That cold water gets into the jet stream through evaporation and cools the upper atmosphere. It rises, it cools and dumps more precipitation. So warmer temperatures actually cause more snow.
this flood is NOT caused by global warming. didnt you hear him say we're fighting this flood in snow? that means it's COLDER than usual. come on people lets use our heads.
It's actually warmer than normal; that's why there's such a scramble. We were told to expect flooding in April, and it warmed up in March and things started going crazy. Snow in March is very normal for this area; the rain we got for a week straight is not.
um yes it is caused by globall warming. in 97, there was much more snow and the flood wasnt as bad. if ppl didnt litter than we wouldnt be in this mess.
yes there was a lot more snow in 97, but not while we were fighting the flood. floods are natual. they happen all of the time. every time some natural disaster occurs we cant just blame it on global warming. it doesnt exist.
@cantstopsingin Global WARMING does NOT mean that temps will get warmer only or steady. it means ERRATIC weather, a break in the seasons, unusual shifts in temp and humidity. Many ppl get confused with the confusing term. Global warming can cause torrential (?) snow storms such as we saw in NOrthern NY state a few years ago while taking away seasonal cold of winter and a steady 10 weeks of snowy conditions to be broken up with 70 degrees and such.
actually, the 'disaster', caused little damage to most residents because of intense sandbagging and emergency dikes being put up. so, in a way, we did tell this 'disaster' to go fuck itself, and it did. i think we beat it, and so do alot of other people.
It's funny that you start with "enough of the christian conflict ok" and go on to further it with the I'm going to heaven and you're not ridiculousness.
Considering the behavior of the disciples, you can keep your religion.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Fargo and the other rural communities along the red. I hope you never have to go what we went through in '97 in Grand Forks.
hola mis estimados les envio este mensaje para promocionar mi video q suscribi la pelicula gladiador en audio latino solo pongan en buscar : gladiador audio latino . y mirenla esta bravaza!!!
if you care, get the heck off youtube an fill some sandbags. you don't care obviously, If I was in Fargo I'd be filling sandbags or trying to get the heck out. No offense and if you are handicapped or disabled please accept my apologies.
Actually I've been working about 12-14 hours a day for the last several days helping my community and friends and I'm not leaving, my home and family are here. I'm just taking a few hours to catch up on my sleep and check the internet. Arsch.
winnipeg will be fine because we have the flood way, you think that North Dakota would have learned from the flood of 97, fargo should get a flood way! The Red river floods every year, it was a matter of time it was going to happen again. Dumb ass people should stop pointing fingers at Obama, when this problem could have been prevented years ago.
Listen to me young people, Turn to the Father that is in HEAVEN, you are placing all things before GOD. You must have Holy love in your heart and put him first. I beg you this economic crisis is a stage for Satan. The bible is being fulfilled. Get your hearts right before you are lost.
Pour 1/2 cup water on your kitchen table. Now take two straws and push the puddle together with a narrow channel in between. Now you can see what these folks have to deal with. Ten days of warmer weather ahead. Only U.S. river system flowing north into Canada. Our Canadian cousins facing massive ice jams around Winnepeg. Tough times. But tough people and always looking to help neighbors.
That's just it; there IS protection. People here are used to regular flooding (18 feet). My in-laws bought riverfront property not too long ago. Their lot is at least twice as long as it is wide, with a very tall dike so they didn't have to worry about flooding.Their lot is 41 feet above river level. They had to sand bag. All of the houses along the Red have some sort of system where they are protected from the river in the spring - just not to these abnormal levels. It has NEVER been this high.
These are the same people that are forcing legislation in North Dakota to End Abortion in that State...Most of North Dakotans are hard working moral people...The salt of the earth..God Bless you North Dakota..
Excluding insess and rape....But it is a start for Pro Life....Ripping a child of there arms and legs from what is supposed to be the safest place in the world...There mothers own womb...It should not be a right...Its against everything that is right and moral..
Farout woman... grow up!!! I suppose there is a black person living in Fargo as well... and holy christ, maybe even a homosexual!?! Man, even jesus would just slap you in the face for making such irrelevant and disrespectful comments. Actually do me a favour and try and just have 1% the compassion of the supposed christ.
Lets start with the Black community as long as you mentioned it...One out of every four has been Wiped out because of Abortion..President Obama is really helping out the Black mans cause by helping them wipe themselves out of America..And sorry I'm a Man..Not a farout woman...Wake up and grow up...North Dakota is leading the charge if you like it or not...
I suppose in your mind God made people black because they are dirty sinners so that incredibly intelligent white people like yourself know how to tell good from bad. I am surprised people with brains like yours can even navigate your way to a church or work out how to post comments on youtube. Do you know Jesus was an arab? Not an white american?
This incidence of abortion has resulted in a tremendous loss of life. It has been estimated that since 1973 Black women have had about 16 million abortions. Michael Novak had calculated "Since the number of current living Blacks (in the U.S.) is 36 million, the missing 16 million represents an enormous loss, for without abortion, America's Black community would now number 52 million persons. It would be 36 percent larger than it is. Abortion has swept through the Black community like a scythe.
And thats a bad thing? Do you know that there was a massive drop in crime roughly 18 years after abortion was legalised in its initial states? Thats the time when these unloved children turned into criminals. Now, you're probably living in safer streets because you don't have 16 million unloved children roaming the streets. Choice is not a sin muskie. Thinking you are JC, or God, when you're a smorgasboard of judgement and ignorance is much worse then choosing to not bring a unloved child 2 life
Choosing who lives and who dies??....Isn't that what the Nazi's did back in WW2...No this is man's killing law not Gods...God made us for life not to be killed in the Mothers womb..Everyone no matter what color or race should have that chance WITHOUT man stepping in to snatch that away...To snuff out the innocent like a lamb that is taken to slaughter...Say that I witnessed a murder and didn't come forward to say something..I could be held in contempt If i was found out to be there.
You won't be held in contempt for being in the presence of, or by being aware of an abortion. The soul of the baby does not enter the fetus and is essentially just an extention of the mother, like an organ, until a long way into the pregnency. As long as its in the first trimester aborting a baby is about as harmful in gods eyes as removing a wart. There's nothing evil about it... I know people who have done it and clearly god is still shining and smiling on them. So move on, thanks.
Don't give me that garbage..Tell that to Mary when the angle appeared to her and said that she was to CONCEIVE a son...This son was God incarnate AT CONCEPTION !!....
If you were right, my friends that have had abortions would walk around with clouds of darkness following them. And yet, strangely, their prayers are answered as though they are loved by God. Could it just be, that you're wrong? Could it just be, that a 2000+ year book is not totally relevant and translated properly? Could it just be, you just want to have problems with people in general and abortion is the easiest thing to point a finger at and judge? Even though JC said don't judge? Convenient
lol. actually I think it was angle obtuse who descended and told that to mary... either that or it was really good herb she was smoking. I hear they called smoke 'spirit' back in those days as well and so when the 'holy spirit' entered you, in other words, they were really fucking high.
F_____ high.....Oh, that is an awesome comment for someone that is preaching to me Morality...You do not have a clue or will you..The fact of the matter is I was like you..Before I started praying every day in church and my eyes have been opened...Jesus was conceived by the Virgin Mary and was God incarnate at conceptions therefore we are all with souls at conception not rocket science...or maybe you would want me to draw you a picture cosmicmutt..
Oh didn't you know those guys did psychedelics back then? Moses and the burning bush, his Daddy was a shaman and introduced him to magic mushrooms.
Of course thats the logical way to look at it, that that there were mind altering things happening... but lets throw rational out the window though so we can blindly believe stuff... because there were just demons and angels just flying around the skies back then for no apparent reason... it had nothing to do with ancient natural herbs they took.
And no, its not rocket science, infact its not science at all... its based on blind faith... its completely removed of logic and common sense. Its totally unprovable and the perfect way to severe yourself from any real sort of personal development. Because its such a giant myth, it can't be challenged, but also means you never have to challenge your intelligence again.. just surrender to the lord and you can be a numskull for the rest of eternity. Very convenient indeed.
An angel just told me that Jesus would slap you sideways for saying that I will never have a clue about life. The angel said that how dare you limit my potential to journey towards God, and for that, they have marked you as not being able to enter the pearly gates at the final judgement and that I have been upgraded to heavenly VIP. Apparently I will be able to see Jesus' backyard from my window.
Yes, people do move their stuff up from their basements - if they have time. You need to realize that we were told that the river wouldn't begin to get to flood stage until mid-April. Then we got notice that it would be at flood stage in a matter of a couple of days! The people of F-M (with the help of people from all over who traveled to help) bagged over 3 million sandbags and created over 30 miles of dikes to save the city! Your callous, insulting posts say more about you than us.

Good Job Fargo people! Fight this son of a bitch until the end! Hey at least in North Dakota we dont have a bunch of stupid apes crying because the help from the goverment didnt get here fast enfough! Stupid coons in NOLA the chocolate city haha!
It always saddens me to see people loose all that they have worked for through natural disasters.
As homeowner, wouldn't a little time have been better spent moving possessions to the upper floors in hopes that only the ground floor might flood?
I am surprised at such callous remarks in the comments, human nature itself can be a disaster. Again, my heart goes out to these people and I hope for the best for them.
You live on an island, the same thing could happen to you. What a brave little boy you are, giving it large from the other side of the ocean. Come to Fargo and say that, one of our school kids will take a break from sandbagging to beat the hell out of you. Stupid troll.
People from Fargo listen to what I tell you, global warming is a lie from the stupid liberals, global warming is not real, and stop watching cbs they lie to you, watch fox "news" they tell the truth, because they are fair and balance.
Good luck to the decent normal people from Fargo N.D.
seriously people! are you that self centered! how DARE you say that "people knew it was coming they should've been ready". Well no kidding that they knew it was fricking coming! we've known for about 2 weeks, but do you think that is enough time to just decide "hell, lets forget about our homes and just run away" I don't think so! this is the proof right here on tv that people get together and help each other in a time of need. WAY TO GO FARGO/MOOREHEAD!
Whats more important? your house or your family???
I live in Houston, TX, and when Hurricanes like Ike come, not all areas are required to evacuate, just the hot spots, but they say you should evacuate, you should do it.
Nobody is asking you to cry for us. We don't need sympathy from a pathetic little troll like you. I hope your perfect little world is never bothered by a natural disaster. You wouldn't have the strength to handle what we've been going through the last few days, so STFU.
no matter where you live there is always some kind of danger..i mean should no one live in new orleans because they had one bad hurricane?? maybe you should just keep ur mouth shut untill you know whats really going on..
Exactly natural. This stuff happens. It isnt't "God" or anything like that. Just Mother Nature claiming back what is hers.
Whatever we build will no matter what eventually come down. Anytime you hear it will never erode, blah, blah, blah, yes it will. That is the way nature works. It may take thousands of years, but nature will break it down.
Man vs. Nature. We can win every battle, but in the long run nature will always win the war.
Another Winnipeg resident here I really feel badly for everyone south and north of the 49th " U.S.A. and Canada border". But what really irks me these people that hide behind religion for mother natures doing If you really feel this strongly about something then print your name, address and phone#. I'm sure we could arrange for a quick up and a dip in the Red River. Good luck to Fargo/Moorehead,Grand Forks then to Winnipeg. Winnipeggers are happy about widening Duff's ditch now "the Floodway"
Winnipeg, Canada resident here. We got hit hard by the flood in 1997 being in close proximity to the Red River. Best of luck in dealing with this situation to my Fargo friends south of the border.
To all who think this is "Canads Fault"; the river flows NORTH... towards Canada. We fight this flood every few years, and in 1997, we got hit harder than N.D. Manitoba has invested 1.1 billion since 1997 to keep Winnipeg and other areas safe.
Lol i live in fargo and I gotta say it ain't that cold. I've been out there every day. It's only cold if you don't live here. But now they've told us to stop sandbagging so all we can do now is hope.

ROTTIWORLD 2 years ago
The neighbour engineer said we aren't. I'm an engineer and this is so and so feet. Neighbour engineer knows he is right and scratches his head. He finally calls the head of the Houston engineering firm that was hired by Moorehead and HE TAPES THE CONVERSATION. The head guy tells him that they were ordered by Moorehead to measure all of the dikes one foot lower than what they actually needed.
ROTTIWORLD 2 years ago

His wrath is coming upon America, for she has forsaken her first love, and turned her back on God Almighty, when you remove God's Moral Law from the Schools, and then the Courtrooms, then the work place, what do you think will happen?A world without God, will leave chaos and confusion, death!
dvining40us 2 years ago

But you don't see them reporting that now do ya?
dvining40us 2 years ago

LutherAirborne 2 years ago
this flood is NOT caused by global warming. didnt you hear him say we're fighting this flood in snow? that means it's COLDER than usual. come on people lets use our heads.
cantstopsingin 2 years ago 3
It's actually warmer than normal; that's why there's such a scramble. We were told to expect flooding in April, and it warmed up in March and things started going crazy. Snow in March is very normal for this area; the rain we got for a week straight is not.
lanen23 2 years ago
um yes it is caused by globall warming. in 97, there was much more snow and the flood wasnt as bad. if ppl didnt litter than we wouldnt be in this mess.
bugonthescreen 2 years ago
ummm...how does littering cause global warming?? its the methane gases released mostly by cattles excreting (cow farts)
and in 97' we didnt have the saturated frozen ground, which was the main problem here.
i'm not saying global warmings fake, but i think it had alot more to do with the patterns of snow melt combined with the ground thawing out.
Dethkill14 2 years ago
yes there was a lot more snow in 97, but not while we were fighting the flood. floods are natual. they happen all of the time. every time some natural disaster occurs we cant just blame it on global warming. it doesnt exist.
cantstopsingin 2 years ago
Are you honestly kidding me? There was snow sitting on the ground during this...
X04trailblazerX 2 years ago
@cantstopsingin Global WARMING does NOT mean that temps will get warmer only or steady. it means ERRATIC weather, a break in the seasons, unusual shifts in temp and humidity. Many ppl get confused with the confusing term. Global warming can cause torrential (?) snow storms such as we saw in NOrthern NY state a few years ago while taking away seasonal cold of winter and a steady 10 weeks of snowy conditions to be broken up with 70 degrees and such.

First of all, why would people want to build houses RIGHT next to a river?!?
Bloo128 2 years ago
For the same reason they build cities (or parts of cities) on the coast below sea level
Shad0hawK 2 years ago
but still, they shouldnt build a WHOLE bunch of houses and stores right next to a free flowing river withought protection.
Bloo128 2 years ago 3
That's just it; there IS protection. People here are used to regular flooding (18 feet). My in-laws bought riverfront property not too long ago. Their lot is at least twice as long as it is wide, with a very tall dike so they didn't have to worry about flooding.Their lot is 41 feet above river level. They had to sand bag. All of the houses along the Red have some sort of system where they are protected from the river in the spring - just not to these abnormal levels. It has NEVER been this high.

cosmicbdog 2 years ago
This incidence of abortion has resulted in a tremendous loss of life. It has been estimated that since 1973 Black women have had about 16 million abortions. Michael Novak had calculated "Since the number of current living Blacks (in the U.S.) is 36 million, the missing 16 million represents an enormous loss, for without abortion, America's Black community would now number 52 million persons. It would be 36 percent larger than it is. Abortion has swept through the Black community like a scythe.
csmuskie 2 years ago
And thats a bad thing? Do you know that there was a massive drop in crime roughly 18 years after abortion was legalised in its initial states? Thats the time when these unloved children turned into criminals. Now, you're probably living in safer streets because you don't have 16 million unloved children roaming the streets. Choice is not a sin muskie. Thinking you are JC, or God, when you're a smorgasboard of judgement and ignorance is much worse then choosing to not bring a unloved child 2 life
cosmicbdog 2 years ago
Choosing who lives and who dies??....Isn't that what the Nazi's did back in WW2...No this is man's killing law not Gods...God made us for life not to be killed in the Mothers womb..Everyone no matter what color or race should have that chance WITHOUT man stepping in to snatch that away...To snuff out the innocent like a lamb that is taken to slaughter...Say that I witnessed a murder and didn't come forward to say something..I could be held in contempt If i was found out to be there.
csmuskie 2 years ago
You won't be held in contempt for being in the presence of, or by being aware of an abortion. The soul of the baby does not enter the fetus and is essentially just an extention of the mother, like an organ, until a long way into the pregnency. As long as its in the first trimester aborting a baby is about as harmful in gods eyes as removing a wart. There's nothing evil about it... I know people who have done it and clearly god is still shining and smiling on them. So move on, thanks.
cosmicbdog 2 years ago
Don't give me that garbage..Tell that to Mary when the angle appeared to her and said that she was to CONCEIVE a son...This son was God incarnate AT CONCEPTION !!....
csmuskie 2 years ago
If you were right, my friends that have had abortions would walk around with clouds of darkness following them. And yet, strangely, their prayers are answered as though they are loved by God. Could it just be, that you're wrong? Could it just be, that a 2000+ year book is not totally relevant and translated properly? Could it just be, you just want to have problems with people in general and abortion is the easiest thing to point a finger at and judge? Even though JC said don't judge? Convenient
cosmicbdog 2 years ago
Was it a right "angle" or acute. I assume it was acute.
zombievsrobot 2 years ago

cosmicbdog 2 years ago
F_____ high.....Oh, that is an awesome comment for someone that is preaching to me Morality...You do not have a clue or will you..The fact of the matter is I was like you..Before I started praying every day in church and my eyes have been opened...Jesus was conceived by the Virgin Mary and was God incarnate at conceptions therefore we are all with souls at conception not rocket science...or maybe you would want me to draw you a picture cosmicmutt..
csmuskie 2 years ago
Oh didn't you know those guys did psychedelics back then? Moses and the burning bush, his Daddy was a shaman and introduced him to magic mushrooms.
Of course thats the logical way to look at it, that that there were mind altering things happening... but lets throw rational out the window though so we can blindly believe stuff... because there were just demons and angels just flying around the skies back then for no apparent reason... it had nothing to do with ancient natural herbs they took.
cosmicbdog 2 years ago
And no, its not rocket science, infact its not science at all... its based on blind faith... its completely removed of logic and common sense. Its totally unprovable and the perfect way to severe yourself from any real sort of personal development. Because its such a giant myth, it can't be challenged, but also means you never have to challenge your intelligence again.. just surrender to the lord and you can be a numskull for the rest of eternity. Very convenient indeed.

An angel just told me that Jesus would slap you sideways for saying that I will never have a clue about life.
