I actually had my wife clock me in the car. She followed me going 42 mph. Granted, that was with the governer held open. When governed, it is probably artificially limited to 35 or so. BUT, remember, this thing has a HUGE back sprocket. If I went to a smaller one, it would go a LOT faster.
@BigBlockMoparMan That's the ticket...More hp= better acceleration. But.... With the same redline, no more top speed than smaller engine...Gear it to the MOON!!
Actually, top speed is about the same since both engines rev out about the same which is about 42 mph. The big difference is how quickly the 8 hp gets there, which is something like 100 yrds or maybe less. I cant keep the front end down while giving it full throttle on pavement. It needs a wheely bar. I can be rolling at 10-15 mph and whack the throttle open and it will flip right out from under me. It's a lot of fun.
ill say about 35 top speed not 42
