@JenWSURN Simply connect your device to your computer and launch iTunes. Select your device and go to the Ringtones Tab. Select to Sync them all.

@Luke130795 I have an iPhone 4S and the quality is just fine. Did you use any program to make a ringtone or just iTunes? What is the original song's quality? Have you tried changing the "import settings" in Edit + Preferences + General Tab + Import Settings... and change the settings to something higher.

@applesandra Thank you! I personnaly set iTunes to automatically organise my music/ringtone library so the m4r file is sent to my Ringtone folder. You can do the same if you want the in iTune Preferences in the "Advanced" tab.

In you case, I don't think you can delete the m4r file (which is your transformed AAC file) since it will stay in your regular folder and won't be transfered to your Ringtone folder. Try it out. If it doesn't work, create it again or do a backup before. Cheers!
