i got both glock and sig. they are both damn good stuff. sig wins on disassembly over glock and the optional frames and triggers. but glock won the durability with their metal treatment tenifer and that matters more than others.

The SIG was a great fit (for me) compared to the others, and am now in the process of getting the appropriate license, joining a club and of course shopping for a SIG. So guys, ADVICE please: with accuracy as the priority, which model am i looking for???

From Springfield to S&W to Ruger with their new XD's sigma and SR9 designs. It would be like Glock making a 1911 and claiming its better than the Colt or SW. Glocks are the original so deal with it. OFTEN IMITATED, NEVER DUPLICATED as S&W found out when they got sued over the trigger of the sigma and had to change it.

Sig is the golden standard. Beretta is combat proven, over and over again, Glock is the weapon of choice for LE. HK USP is the most overrated 9 on the market. You can buy a CZ-SP-01 for half the price and get better accuracy..the 75 is modeled after the P210 (unlike. let's say the HK , the CZ has a the slide runnning on the inside; much tigher fit and better accuracy. CZ's issues are not performance, but asthetics. The 250 may very well pove to be the finest pistol made, however.

The HK23 was adopted by SF (green beret's) to replace their Beretta's. If you get a jam in a sig or hk or cz or any other world class pistol..99% of the time it's the ammo, not the weapon.
Well,anyone on this forum that owns a sig knows that is very uncommon story. They also know that H&K is one of the most revered brands in firearms..however their USP was always considered a flawed weapon, ergonomically. Holding it is like holding a 2x4. Great pistol, terrible grip.

If you have a Glock, SIG, Kahr or Beretta, CZ, etc...you have a world class handgun. HOWEVER, because Glocks offered Law Enforcement a great price point on their weapons, they became ubiquitious throughout the US and that created many ambassadors for the brand. The fact is that SIG does probably have the best reputation of all the brands and that is reflected in the fact the Navy Seals, Secret Service use Sig. Definitely most accurate and reliable.
yeah i had a p229 .40 for about a year i got tired of it setting in the bed room while the HK got all the work so i sold it. sig is used by the seals but the MK23 is used by alot more seals. if you doubt my owning a sig i have a video of it. It just didnt shoot as good and it jammed 3 times in a year i have had the USP for 6 years and have had 1 jam.

not really... glocks a cheap guns for the quality and thats the reason theyre used so widespread among police departments. I've seen nothing about them winning any awards in marksmanship etc. There's a reason why they arn't used by special operation units, etc.
glocks are cheap but they're still good quality. they're widely used in police departments as well as special forces. i don't know where you got your information from that they aren't used by special operation units. they're actually one of the preferred handguns for those units. they are excellent value for money and the quality is excellent too. i'm not saying they're the best, but they are pretty damn good. and plenty of marksmen use glocks for competition. you talking lots of b.s.
There's no military units period that use glocks as far as I'm aware. I think they use to use the glock 23 but moved on to the berretta. Glocks are like the Walmart of the gun world, they are just the cheapest reliable alternative.
if you're talking about the states, then maybe not. if you're talking international, many military units use glocks. to name a few australia, sweden, france, sweden, south korea, austria, poland, netherlands, israel...many more. they're cheap, high quality and reliable....i don't see a problem with that. they're maybe not as "exclusive" as a chromed sig or gold plated desert eagle but it depends what you want out of a gun. cheap, reliable, high cap, light weight, quality...that's why glock =win
I just recently purchased the full size P250. Have not shot it yet but probably will in the next few days. Love the feel and lightness of this beautifully crafted gun. I will say that the night sights are not really night sights and why they claim this is sort of confusing. This weapon is 2nd to none in craftsmanship. The price? Well, it's like anything else. You get what you pay for.
My roommate has a SIG in .45 and it's pretty damn awesome. Easy to shoot, accurate as hell and lots of fun. I think I like it just slightly more than my Kimber 1911 if only for the weight. I trust my 1911 with my life but damn it's heavy to carry concealed.
I was all excited about this gun for its modularity, until he got to the 600-part detail strip.
At least the basic field-stripping looks to be easy and quick, although people already bitch about how "complicated" it is to strip a S&W M&P (a considerably simpler process than this Sig requires).
i was a fan of sig until they went with their big price increase a couple of years ago. one definitely can't argue with their quality though the prices obviously are geared toward the hoity-toities of the world.
Why Sig over H&K? Both superior guns. Both super reliable. Both super accurate. Both used by various special ops (both SEAL guns!) Yes H&K little more pricey, but not an issue IMO when defending your life. What it comes down to? Hogue aftermarket grips (especially w/ finger grooves). What a tremendous difference compared to the factory designs by both SIG and H&K. Something to consider.

3 grips x 2 triggers x 4 calibers= 24 possibilities. Close enough.
To julebuggy: I agree SIG's are great, but HK is a fantastic handgun company too. IMO USP's are almost as good as SIG's, although there a bit heavier, harder trigger pull, worse ergonomics and are a little less accurate there fantastic guns and very sexy. They also have less recoil, and the SIG gets more muzzle flip because of the barrel. S&W does suck tho
me and a few of my co-workers are looking into getting one of these guns but man watching him field strip this gun with all those parts that does look somewhat complicated to me
DAO guns have their place in my opinion. I like them as compact carry pieces(think mini Glock or Kel Tec), as training wheels for teaching a new shooter, or as dummy-proof defensive weapons for those who don't shoot much. Otherwise, I think SA only, DA/SA, or some sort of light DA is best for a full size fighting handgun. Why limit yourself when you don't have to? BTW, I'm picking up my P225 tomorrow!! :-)
Man, my 226 is my fav; I love them. However, I realy do hate the 9 mm round. I just love the gun. It is my fav, but I do wish it had a saftey that would allow for you to carry it "locked and cocked." Otherwise, it is a great gun.
I have had a few sigs. They're VERY good guns. I have a mosquito that's been good. The 250 looks nice. A bit scary how many pieces come apart. For a tinkerer that'd be good....Not too sure I'd take it all down like that. LOL it'd take me a while to re-assemble it.
Although I am a SIG fan, I think it is too early to call this new release "the best" or even "one of the best." Then again, maybe you have gotten your hands on one already and have shot it extensively. I have not seen one in person yet. I trust SIG Sauer to do plenty of research and development before bringing a new one out though.
My one problem with the video? "Revolutionize the auto pistol market?" Good luck pushing the Springfield XD off the block. Love or hat Glaocks, they have not been knocked off either. After more than 20 years.
I sell guns, and I work my hardest to sell the XD over the Glock each and everyday, But I always tell my customers that if they can afford the Sig or an HK to spend the extra money as they are two of the best made guns on the market, nest to the 1911 of course.

yeah i had a p229 .40 for about a year i got tired of it setting in the bed room while the HK got all the work so i sold it. sig is used by the seals but the MK23 is used by alot more seals. if you doubt my owning a sig i have a video of it. It just didnt shoot as good and it jammed 3 times in a year i have had the USP for 6 years and have had 1 jam.

not really... glocks a cheap guns for the quality and thats the reason theyre used so widespread among police departments. I've seen nothing about them winning any awards in marksmanship etc. There's a reason why they arn't used by special operation units, etc.

glocks are cheap but they're still good quality. they're widely used in police departments as well as special forces. i don't know where you got your information from that they aren't used by special operation units. they're actually one of the preferred handguns for those units. they are excellent value for money and the quality is excellent too. i'm not saying they're the best, but they are pretty damn good. and plenty of marksmen use glocks for competition. you talking lots of b.s.

There's no military units period that use glocks as far as I'm aware. I think they use to use the glock 23 but moved on to the berretta. Glocks are like the Walmart of the gun world, they are just the cheapest reliable alternative.

if you're talking about the states, then maybe not. if you're talking international, many military units use glocks. to name a few australia, sweden, france, sweden, south korea, austria, poland, netherlands, israel...many more. they're cheap, high quality and reliable....i don't see a problem with that. they're maybe not as "exclusive" as a chromed sig or gold plated desert eagle but it depends what you want out of a gun. cheap, reliable, high cap, light weight, quality...that's why glock =win

I just recently purchased the full size P250. Have not shot it yet but probably will in the next few days. Love the feel and lightness of this beautifully crafted gun. I will say that the night sights are not really night sights and why they claim this is sort of confusing. This weapon is 2nd to none in craftsmanship. The price? Well, it's like anything else. You get what you pay for.

My roommate has a SIG in .45 and it's pretty damn awesome. Easy to shoot, accurate as hell and lots of fun. I think I like it just slightly more than my Kimber 1911 if only for the weight. I trust my 1911 with my life but damn it's heavy to carry concealed.

I was all excited about this gun for its modularity, until he got to the 600-part detail strip.
At least the basic field-stripping looks to be easy and quick, although people already bitch about how "complicated" it is to strip a S&W M&P (a considerably simpler process than this Sig requires).

Why Sig over H&K? Both superior guns. Both super reliable. Both super accurate. Both used by various special ops (both SEAL guns!) Yes H&K little more pricey, but not an issue IMO when defending your life. What it comes down to? Hogue aftermarket grips (especially w/ finger grooves). What a tremendous difference compared to the factory designs by both SIG and H&K. Something to consider.

To julebuggy: I agree SIG's are great, but HK is a fantastic handgun company too. IMO USP's are almost as good as SIG's, although there a bit heavier, harder trigger pull, worse ergonomics and are a little less accurate there fantastic guns and very sexy. They also have less recoil, and the SIG gets more muzzle flip because of the barrel. S&W does suck tho

DAO guns have their place in my opinion. I like them as compact carry pieces(think mini Glock or Kel Tec), as training wheels for teaching a new shooter, or as dummy-proof defensive weapons for those who don't shoot much. Otherwise, I think SA only, DA/SA, or some sort of light DA is best for a full size fighting handgun. Why limit yourself when you don't have to? BTW, I'm picking up my P225 tomorrow!! :-)

Man, my 226 is my fav; I love them. However, I realy do hate the 9 mm round. I just love the gun. It is my fav, but I do wish it had a saftey that would allow for you to carry it "locked and cocked." Otherwise, it is a great gun.

I have had a few sigs. They're VERY good guns. I have a mosquito that's been good. The 250 looks nice. A bit scary how many pieces come apart. For a tinkerer that'd be good....Not too sure I'd take it all down like that. LOL it'd take me a while to re-assemble it.

Although I am a SIG fan, I think it is too early to call this new release "the best" or even "one of the best." Then again, maybe you have gotten your hands on one already and have shot it extensively. I have not seen one in person yet. I trust SIG Sauer to do plenty of research and development before bringing a new one out though.

I sell guns, and I work my hardest to sell the XD over the Glock each and everyday, But I always tell my customers that if they can afford the Sig or an HK to spend the extra money as they are two of the best made guns on the market, nest to the 1911 of course.
