Thats so ironic. The Sharplaninac is far from a pure breed. It is a mix of several breeds. C'mon this dog is the biggest in the canine community and most bad ass especially for guarding purposes.

I had a Sarplaninac and Shepard mix, greatest dog ever, named him Rambo, gentle giant, but his looks scared alot of people, he died at a rather young age from cancer :'(

Strange... My sarplaninac (5 moths old, male) is playin with the children from the 'hood. Children like him, at he like them. Maybe it's because he's still young, but it's cool for now. The one thing he doesn't like is touching his tale, I guess I'm the only one with granted access, lol

Very untrue, a family member had one and they were very very loyal to the owner as well as the owners children. The children were able to roll all over it, basically use it as a punching bag (young children) and it was all for it. It loved children.

That is a big dog... thats a Serra da Estrela. The famous dog for the Star Mountain, a big sheep dog used to snowing climats... rare in fact, but there are lots of them in Portugal, whith diferent colors from Black to that exact comon color.

Some texts says that they exists since the roman times at least. But no one realy knows.

I had one once, my favorite dog for sure.
