If everything is divided in quanta's then of course its moving at the speed of light right? We already perceive information at the speed of light, so just think about how much we are being bombarded with all at once. So really isn't everything moving at light speed, even us?
In absolute terms... maybe, but I doubt anyone can prove that. I also believe there is something to this "absolute minimum" division or quanta, but we can all ask why? I mean, there is really never ending to these mysteries. Come to think of it, we reference one aspect to the other, space, time, dimensions.... maybe we can't reference everything. Maybe one day someone will find a mathematical description, formula, the basis that describe everything, just a "few" lines of numbers and symbols.
Teleportation would be easy really. If a human learns how to change through diffrent dimensions we would be able to enter time and space. Therefore if only I would be able to change dimensions freely i could change the position i am in without any of the 3rd 2nd and 1st dimensions noticing.
I watched the video you told me about, and yes I can see what you're talking about. we perceive time in a 3d manner, like you said, in 3d slices through 4d space time. you could also say it was like individual film frames in a strip of motion picture film. that kind of illustrates how us 3d beings have a hard time contemplating a higher dimension much like the 2d flat landers would have a hard time perceiving 3d. if someone could find a way to illustrate 4d to 3d beings that would be cool!
That game is pretty cool! your description of time being like slices reminds me of a great animation sequence that would illustrate that idea perfectly! In the music video Big Time by peter gabriel, there is a lot of great clay animation. in one sequence, the animator sculpted the clay in such a way, that each slice of the clay log is a different frame of animation, and played one after the other, it moves perfectly! The time on the vid where this takes place is from 3:18 to 3:28. check it out!
Yes, I remember that section, it is pretty cool all right, and implies what we're talking about as we imagine our 4D shape as a "long undulating snake" in the original Imagining the Tenth Dimension animation, being sliced into 3D portions.
Here's another video that animates "slices of time" in a very imaginative way, check it out!
Excellent video Rob. I wish I had more time in the day to view more of your videos. Can we reduce the Planck Length so that I get more moments in the day? :)
Either that or maybe move the Earth a little further from the Sun so we can extend my days.
Sure, good suggestion, The game I mention at 3:43 is now linked in the description. I've also added a link to the book I mention. And of course all of these are available as hotlinks in the text version of this blog.
these videos are amazing. i'm suprised they haven't had more views. thank you for making them!

We all search for some ultimate answer, or god for some people.... what if God is just that number....

Einstein died trying to find out that "ultimate answer" he never finished his last theory ...
