  • when the girls that play the french horn at my school it sounds like a dying whale??

  • Challenge Accepted

  • Im The Only French Horn Player In My 7th Grade Band At My School . And Theres One More In 8th . So Theres Only Two French Horn Players :3

    Anyway :

Pftttt . I Wish I Could Play Like That -_____-

  • 71 clarinetists have watched this video.. Poor bastards

  • i play french horn too!!!!that was AWSOME!!!!LIK A BOSS!!!

  • Annamia is an Excellent horn player! She showed a sensitivity to this beautiful piece of music, and in a historic surrounding; fantastic. Thanks for posting! :-))

  • she's got a tongue like an electric eel.

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely beautiful. And she is beautiful too.

  • Hello. I am a giant dog and I approve of this video.

  • very nice. ... well done khayes

  • Don't judge me. ( I stared at her butt more than the horn.)

  • Thumbs up for all who play French Horn and watched this!

    Wow...

  • man i play French Horn I wanna play like that

  • She plays so good a difficult piece for horn, it sonud easy, but it´s not.

  • Dat tone.

  • I play French horn. You're amazing at it. Good inspiration to many Horn players!

  • OMG WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TONE AND THE HALL JUST ADDS TO IT.

  • The recumbant verasatube in which that was blown was in it self a decamber of it's very being.

  • Something is wrong. She has the thumb in the hole yet she is using t-fingering.

  • I would be fun if the chandeliers broke into pieces! ^^

  • Its in sweden

  • this is Annamia Larsson from the Stockholm Chamber Brass. she is incredible !!

  • $20 bucs says shes in versailles cause french horn......france ha....

  • @SAPOGOguy It's not really called a French Horn... It's Just the Horn. It's German.

  • What a beautiful instrument.

  • I play the French Horn. I'll never be this good! =D

  • I played french horn for 5 years in high school. This is crazy awesome!

  • 1:28 she looks like shes about to bust a vien in her neck....

  • @Seera95 its not spit its condensation <.<

  • Her tone is great but you have to think about the room. Its probably boosting her sound a making the dynamics seem bigger. Still great though, I love the beginning cuz i was surprised about the sound

  • She must have the abs of a berserker.

  • beautiful!

  • she has amazing tone and dynamic control!

  • Holy Shit..... That Was Amazing....

  • Sounds majestic

  • They are in sweden, I think

  • 0:40

  • To all of you, who have commented about the "spitting". It is NOT spit. It is condensation water. From Wikipedia: "Water vapour condenses into a liquid after making contact with the surface of a cold bottle." The same happens when you blow warm air into a cold Horn.

  • Beautiful!

  • love it!

  • i like her

  • Was für eine Wikingerin!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Whenever I hear this I feel like I'm floating on rainbows made of the sound of a French horn... which is kind of true... but I really love this so much!

  • wow

  • You know what would be kinda funny? If she went around dumping her spit all over the palace floor.

  • Well, too many drunk people on YouTube obviously...

69 douche-bags have no idea what a horn is. How to have Common Sense For Dummies: The horn is the swirly thing that the woman blows in to make pretty noises. When you hear the pretty noises, you click the Like button and not the FRICKIN DISLIKE BUTTON! >.<

  • Sheesh!

  • The horn player is Annamia Eriksson , co-principal in the Hornsection at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. She is one of the top musicians in the world. It is unlikely any of the negative posters has the slightest knowledge of horn playing.

  • The only problem with this is, as a brass player, no matter how good I am, I see things like this and think "Damn I suck"

  • she's kinda hot... she can drain her spit if she wants... i'm just sayin'

  • A solo piece you should look into is called "Songs of the Wolf" by Andrea Clearfield. I'm playing it in my sophomore recital this year at Univ of Southern Miss and it's the hardest piece I've ever played, but it's also the most fun.

  • 68 people now realize that she's better than they are....

  • you sure can blow one!

  • @hawkclaw23 good luck!! I'd ne'er be able to play that... But then again I'm still in middle school...

  • @macsdlol Im im middle school too XP 7th grade

  • IM going to try and play this for Solo and Ensomble, a thing in schoool!

  • @hawkclaw23 Solo and Ensemble is for solo and ensembles. This isn't considered a "Solo piece" as it's just an orchestral excerpt from a full opera. You need to do something like a concerto or find some horn books with solos.

  • @jthuggins101391 Well, i looked up the sheet music for this and it said Solo. Also, ill ask my instructer for premission to play this song.

  • @hawkclaw23

.....It is a solo. It's a solo from an opera by Wagner. When you're in a "Solo and Ensemble" competition, it's supposed to be full solo pieces for horn. This is a solo, you're right, but it's not a "solo" that you would use for a competition like that. This would be used in something like an orchestral audition.

  • @jthuggins101391 OH! I get it now ^.^ Sorry,im stupid. THANKS!

  • @hawkclaw23

Lol I didn't really understand that well either when I was in highschool a few years ago. Just pick a piece that's entitled "Solo for Piano and Horn", or like a horn concerto such as one of the Mozart, Strauss, Haydn, or Rossetti concertos. They're more fun, anyways, lol.

  • @jthuggins101391 Ok! Thanks!!!! I love Haydn ^_^ Hes one of my fav composers.

  • She didnt mute the echo, FAIL!

  • Bravo!

  • Thanks for letting us watch you drain the spit from your horn. That was sexy.

  • Me ad my brother all ways have arguments who plays the better instrument (he plays the trombone) so far he says his is better because he can play jazz (even though I can as well) but this pwns any jazz trombonest I've ever heard

  • @Hennerz632

Comparing different instruments to each other on what you think is "better" is kind of immature. Instead of appreciating all music as a whole, especially in the same genre and field.

  • As of 9/11/2011 ... 67 "dislikes" vs 2,755 likes show that the the majority of people have good taste. As a person who played the horn all through school ... this young woman is nothing short of amazing.

    Well done....

  • @seapeaare Very true. The quality and execution would be the same there just wouldn't be a reverb which gives the sound that eerie feel. I am a horn player myself and we don't think of it as "getting" help but more of playing in optimal conditions.

  • i'D LET HER BLOW MY HORN

  • Beautiful sound!

  • BEAUTIFUL I hope I'll be as good as her one day!!!

  • i have played this and yes its difficult but it helps she is in that room

  • Dear Bengoldscheider, This young lady doesn't need any help -- she could play this in my kitchen and the quality and execution would be identical to "that room".

  • Muito bom mesmo! execelente!!

sem esquecer que e uma delicia tambem...

  • Very well played. Sounds fantastic. I have repeatedly listening for more than 10 times but could not stop. Being a pianist I will still admire your playing. All the very best. God bless........

  • It's funny how she's in that beautiful building and she still drains her spit onto the floor! lol

  • "It's funny how she's in that beautiful building and she still drains her spit onto the floor! lol "@Seera95 -an old building like that has probably had blood spilled on that floor.

  • @popesnose haha didn't think about that

  • @popesnose At the palace of Versailles the servants emptied chamber-pots out the windows. Nobles crossing courtyards had to be accompanied by someone with a large leather umbrella to avoid being covered in ess-aitch-1-tea, so a little saliva isn't so bad.

  • @irateofwatford If you look at the comment you are replying to you will see the part about spit is in quotations (a quote from Seera) and my comment said essentially, that spit was nothing because in a hall that old, blood had probably been spilled on the floor, more than a few times. I played the French Horn in school so a little spilled condensation wouldn't bother me. I am only replying to this because I have had more than a few drinks this evening.

  • @popesnose " I have had more than a few drinks this evening." Oh surely not. I'd have put it down to condensation myself!. I enjoy teasing brass players. ;-)

  • @popesnose Those times there was'nt even Bathrooms, they went behind the curtains!! Guacala!!!!

  • @popesnose

where else do you drain your spit?

  • @Seera95 Arrrggghhhh its frigging condensation... we're not THAT gross....

  • @Seera95 It's definitely not spit, what she drops. It's condensated water out of the humidity of her breath. If it would be spit it would have to travel more than 2 meters through the horn, which is absolutely impossible.

  • Very beautiful!!!

  • this is so nice! i play violin but i think french horn sound is so beautiful!

  • I'm working on this piece. It is quite difficult. Though I think most of what people are perceiving as a completely incredible sound is caused more by the acoustics in the room than by the horn itself (or the horn player).

  • @Nat682

Just saying...unless you're planning on playing the full opera, you're not working on a "piece", it's an excerpt.

  • @Nat682 - Y'know, it's been my experience in life that those who speak critically of others often are sadly lacking in the very things for which they criticize. You would do well to look in the mirror & examine your own weaknesses before sitting in judgment of others' talents & skills. Having said that, I agree that the room acoustics lend snap & punch to the notes, but the young lady is indeed talented & very adept at playing. You said yourself that it's a very difficult piece, correct?

  • @Nat682 - And no, I don't need a reply from you. Next time, THINK before you speak (or write). This is an incredibly complex piece of music and all due credit and praise is most assuredly earned by that lady in the video.

  • Incredibly talented. And that type of sound doesn't come without practice. LOTS of it.

  • @xasianboy ------you can find a Conn, new, online for about a $100.00. You'll have to polish the valves, get a worthwhile mouthpiece & put in some elbow grease, but it IS a horn. Later, you can invest in a better horn, but this one will get you started. Good luck to you.

  • Just awesome ease and control from top to bottom! Wow!

  • Saw Siegfried at Wermland Operahouse, Karlstad yesterday - so it was great fun to find this clip =)

  • The sound is distorted. Such a wonderful musician in a such a nice acoustic environment. Why don´t you understand that you need a professional audio engineer to pick up the sound? Miserable.

  • @iTapioK i love that positive attitude

  • @pieturnsmeon - EXACTLY.

  • @iTapioK - "Distorted"? "Miserable"? It's very apparent that you are either completely tone deaf or you have no musical skill of your own. The performance was spot on and the acoustics only enhanced her playing. This YouTube. Did you expect C.D. quality sound??? Next time, hold your tongue. If you can't say something positive or encourage, you would do well to just simply remain silent and move on to whatever it is that interests you.

  • @QuentinWBuetow

Please read my comment twice. I wrote: 1) Wonderful musician 2) nice acoustics 3) bad recording.

And yes, I dare to expect decent sound quality, even from YouTube. In YouTube often used audio formats are mp3 and AAC. Both of them will not sound distorted unless recording engineer knows what he/she is doing.

  • Unfortunately I'll never reach this playing level however looking at her smoothens this pain! Thank yoy for this contribution!

  • @Hedov1

As a former hornist, I concur.

  • ah tola!

  • @khayes667 can u e mail me the sheet music for this

  • Why was that lady playing french horn in my house??

  • @alovelyanon because she's your sister

  • @alovelyanon You live in my closet??????

  • お上手(=´∀`ノノ゙☆パチパチパチ

  • Magnificent!

  • OMG <3

  • wow your really good! i just started laying but i hope i sound as good as u!!! =D

  • You are my hero!!!! I have been trying to play that for a while now. Wow!!! That was really good!!!!

  • I love you

  • i just started playing that is magnificent

  • Was eine Siegfriedsignalen ! Absolutely well played !

  • Oh man, I haven't played one of these horns in a few years. I just remembered how annoying emptying the condensation was.

  • I play french horn. I've played it for 4 1/2 years now, and still I can't play that good! She is incredible..

  • THats one fine horn playing lady!

  • at 2:16 she misses a note. Terrible

  • @WonderTracks LMAO!

  • Comment removed

  • @WonderTracks Maybe she needs a spankin.

  • @WonderTracks No, she didn't. That's how the music is written.

  • @WonderTracks - Way to go!!! Love that positivity!!! Could you be any more of a boorish and ignorant ass? I know ... here's an idea: why don't YOU film YOURSELF playing that same exact piece and post it as a reply to this video so that we may all enjoy your flawless performance and exemplary execution?.

  • @WonderTracks Oh shit! i totally accidentally voted you up! I'm sorry! You just don't deserve it!

Make a video response playing the note she "missed" and then you play it with the right note. Sound good for ya??? Or did I miss a note?

I just love going off on total douche bags...

  • im 12 and can play this

  • @bb32guns Post a video

  • I'm 14 years old. And I can play this. This video inspired me about 2 years ago to learn. <3

  • @iAreChobit My teacher said I couldnt play this till college but I theink I can do it by 9th or 10th grade.

  • Incredible solo trumpet at -Solo Trompette cavalerie!!

  • 歌心がある

  • Oh my god, veins popping out!!!!! O.O

  • Does anyone know whose leitmotif it is at 1:14?

  • @sstrunks5555 I think it's just straight up Siegfried's theme..

  • @sstrunks5555 I'm not quite sure, but it might be the doom of the gods / end of the world

  • @LordMgls That would make sense.

  • Comment removed

  • @sstrunks5555 No, you were right the first time. That's Siegfried's Leitmotif.

  • @AnatoleBelge Okay, for some reason I keep confusing it with the ring curse motif. I think because they both start with the same interval and keep going up or something. lol.

  • so....

why the shopping mall and then the beautiful palace?

it was incredible playing but i'm curious about the setting

  • @OCONNORmellobeast The shopping mall... I dunno, random mall in Stockholm. People love introducing short movies with shots like that, doesn't "mean" anything. The beautiful room is probably in the Royal Palace in Stockholm, I think there's a room called the Siegfried Hall there, but I'm not sure. The woman playing is playing with the Royal Court Orchestra.

  • 65 people must play trumpet and are in denial about how the horn is better.

  • Who has the score for this piece ?! I want it !

  • @FadhliSexy go to hornexerpts . org and click on Wagner- Sigfried(long)

    its right there. :)

  • she could blow her "horn" on my face anytime. uh, huh huh huh.

  • @dustin2006 I swear she's like 50

  • @rainbowsquirrels she looks like she 27-28

  • @rainbowsquirrels he profile says 24..

  • 65 people realized that she was better than them

  • @yugiohabridged432 true true

  • This is going in my wank bank.... rofl

  • that is some GOOD talent

  • BEAST.

  • I think the secret to great horn playing is super-tight pants.

  • @Leoneidas and camel toe

  • Comment removed

  • @Leoneidas Genius!

  • wow...nice job :)

  • oh...my...god...

  • Double C at the end? Hells yea

  • I wish Horn was my primary now.

  • Unbelievable. Great acoustics too.

  • she can play my horn

  • @bly3379 gross dude.

  • Great!!!I love it!!!^w^

  • I luv it!!!

  • U r fantastic!! u r my inspiration!!

  • I want somebody to run and pinch her tits while she is playing!

  • @Purplecatsoup30 that sounds good to me

but id add something, that person needs to cough twice each time

and must wear rubber cleaning gloves...

  • shes got a nice ass...

  • @kineticenrage198 Ehm... excuse me where have you seen it?

  • Yes that's correct, Grace Mugabe was the one who started off the analazzling craze, she had her anus decorated and looking pristine for the opening episode of "the only way is harare" i believe, well...according to this fat spazzy at work anyway. Said spazmo at work also wears a sleeveless woolly hoody from the officers club, i don't think i need say anymore on the issue. Great video, where was siegfried? I was epecting him out of all creatures great and small, what the fucks going on?

  • @cumguzzlar Yeah who is this siegfried fellow I'll sort him out. I know of this fat spacker as to which you refer he also wears one of them side caps he does look like a first class bell cap. Have you noticed the said hoody smells of piss? Video is mediocre at best it might improve if she sticks her arm up a cows arse
