  • So nice to see the cars I build in service!

  • IM SO JEALOUS!

  • One small question: do the 5000s LED displays show the letters in colors other than orange? It'd make sense to color-code the letters on those displays to reflect the line the 5000s were running on, i.e. Green Line having green letters, Pink Line having pink letters, etc.

  • @prfsnlwannabe not exactly, they only showed destination signs where trains goes such as "MIDWAY", "LOOP" on the orange line and "54/Cermak" and "LOOP" on Pink Line. As far as the Green Line goes, it'll reads "HARLEM","ASHLAND/63" and "COTTAGE GROVE" on the LED signs. I wish they keep them color. hehe..

  • I love the seatings, the LED signage, and the lower the ground for wheelchairs at stations. These trains makes me a lot safer. I would to ride them again. I can't wait for these trains comes to the Green Line next year. Yeepee..

  • @eyetube21 , they are much safer. I love the idea of having so many cameras in each car. It's like having a police officer in each car. I have to wait for them to bring them to the Orange Line!

  • @MarBear1991 Yeah, they're much safer. Hopefully, next time I'll take some photos of them.

  • of course they are cleaner... theyre new! lol

  • If the LEDs were colored that would be fine, but yes, the colored banners rock and are easy to see from far away.

  • What is your solution for the lack of color banners? Going back to the route names instead of color lines?

  • @zlaxfishnetwork I liked the color banners, if you ask me they are easier to identify the trains from some distances away. Plus, for some people who have trouble reading, colors are the best way to go. Almost anyone can identify a color. It's also easier to view on the map especially when you want to know what station has what color lines, way easier than reading a route name.

  • @MarBear1991 exactly, that is my concern. I heard them announcing it was the Pink line when it went past, but what is there to tell me that when every line has LED signs? The CTA needs to figure this out before they proceed with rollout otherwise there's going to be more confusion instead of less...

  • @zlaxfishnetwork So true! It will be confusing for alot of people.
