@Sergioantoniox I honestly don't pay much attention to amp setting, I just fiddle with the knobs until it sounds OK. But this one sounds like gain up fairly high (with the volume eased back on the guitar itself), bass down fairly low, mid-range fairly low.
@privettricker Uh uh. Look at Page's tele, I think, or maybe it was his shirt on some Yardbirds video around this time. Anyways he had a nice tele stolen around this time. Could have been the one used on Led Zep I.
@12stringsforme Jimmy's wasn't paisley and it wasn't pink. He stripped his Tele to bare wood and painted a psychedelic swirl design on it. Some people call it "the dragon Tele," but there's no actual dragon on it. He used it on the first Zeppelin album, then switched to the Les Paul.
The pink paisley Tele was most famously used by James Burton when he was backing Elvis and Emmylou Harris.
Sorry but there was a Dragon on his Dragon tele. Watch the video 'The Yardbirds - Dazed and Confused (1968)' uploaded by Wolffishfish @ 2:54 you can see the dragon on the upper right horn. That video has the best shots of the Dragon tele ive seen, you can see how thick the paint is.
He also used it on the solo to Stairway to Heaven
@cgravier I've seen that Tele a thousand times (including just now when I did a search on google images) and for the life of me, I can't see any dragon on it. Don't see it, never have. But still, that's irrelevant. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the Holy Grails of Telecasters!
@privettricker yeah but sadly it died because when he went out on tour with his les paul a friend thought itd be a great suprise if he painted jimmys tele over. i think he painted it red or something and put it back together wrong so jimmy took the neck and put it on his other tele. its a sad sad story
I have watched this performance about eight times. You are an amazing guitar player. Thank you.

Wow...this is GREAT. You are AMAZING. Thank you. When I first heard this--at age 10--I thought the opening riff was a violin! HAHA. This is TERRIFIC.

Nice paisley psychedelic tele!

@12stringsforme I've always thought of it as more country & western than psychedelic!
