@CtrlCmdMusic first of the price range is HUGE. This camera costs over 7000$. it allso has a lower megapixel. The MK3 embodies the highmegapixel people who change between studio and high light conditions. I would love to have one for several reasons.

400000 shutter cycles, the price is around 6800$, this means that for every shooting session, like this grand-prix coverage (around 1000 shots) you take of your camera (400000/6800*1000)=17$ in value, around 1.7cents per shot.

@molinobeer But once the 400,000 shutter cycles are up and the shutter stops working you just take it for servicing and get the shutter replaced. You'll probably only ever lose about 10 or 20% value on this camera over the next 5 or 10 years if you bought one new.

I'm the proud owner of a 7D and 550D (T2i in the states) which are used in my video production company. After watching this video, I see NO NEED to trade them in/sell them and jump on the 1D X bandwagon. I prefer cropped sensors for movies which are actually closer to the 35mm frame of motion picture film. The 5D mk II while beautiful, looks too big with alot of depth of field. Increasing record time while nice isn't that big a deal since we've learned to manage the 12 minute record time.

Is this Canons best effort? I know it's early days yet but on the quality of the stills and vids I've watched from the Canon EOS 1Dx it appears the SONY ALPHA 77 doesn't have a challenger from this camera.

The video features seems to be actually integrated with audio in one unit. Combine with dual cards and longer than 12minute run times like the 5D/7D and this is a thoughtful piece of equipment. That is a big step for small film makers who are tired of getting interrupted by card changes mid-shot and comprehensive data wrangling. Easy fixes for Nikon though... and if they simply added integrated audio the 5D might once again take the win for motion. Definitely dig this evolution, we all win!

The canon 1D X is an amazing camera, features excellent shooting speed of 12shot/sec with AF at Full res , It also features three image processors, two (Dual core Digic 5) dedicated to new Full frame CMOS sensor and one Digic 4 for new AF system.

@SSiadat187 Did you do the math ? Uncompressed @ 1920*1080 means 6Mb / frame ! It means 180Mb /s @ 30fps or 11Gb /min ! Are you sure your CF and your HDD will handle it?
