Hey guys, please check out my channel, I've got a Burial style beat on my page. It's a screen recording of the beat in Logic, so you can also see the different elements of the beat and such. Please gimmie some love, as im struggling to get the beat heard by the public as SO FEW PEOPLE APPRECIATE THIS AMAZING MUSIC!!
@Herbaholic666 Google Burial's myspace. You'll see that he himself labeled his music as garage/2step. Why dubstep labels then? Probably because 2step and dubstep are very strongly connected with each other.
@FeralWitchchild it says garage/2step because "dubstep" isnt on there to choose lol. dubstep was underground when myspace was "popular". its dubstep because of its 140 bpm and numerous releases on hyperdub. iv also read a interview with him and he catergorizes it as his own genre nand he doesnt want to be pidgeon holed. good song tho
@Herbaholic666 Now I feel a bit silly. Yeah and I agree it's hard to categorize his music. Most important thing is it's simply awesome music so who cares whether it's dubstep or garage or whatever else.
@Herbaholic666 Know both of them already. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Volor Flex, Desolate, Mount Kimbie and that free EP that Sorrow release on his soundcloud page. I heartily recommend you give 'em a shot if you haven't heard them yet. Especially the first two as they make music really similar to Burial's. Some people even call Volor Flex Burial 2.0.
@Herbaholic666 Because in 2005 Kode9 saw potential and must have thought South London Boroughs e.p. was a fitting third release for his own indie label. Vex'd released a Dubstep album on Planet Mu, does that make them an IDM group? No it doesnt.
@sockmonkeynumber1 and the most amazing part is that the production is better than the thousands of retarded brostep tracks produced on Logic, Cubase and Pro Tools.
dose anyone know if there is annother music video for burial, i remeber watching it and its like a paper man in a power plant, can't remember anything else please reply if you know the song name
Hello everyone im 14 and love producing with a passion, been VERY inspired by Burial lately and producer a track of my own PLEAASSEEE check it out and give feedback!!
To me Burials music has a distant and ghost like feeling. As if his songs are sometimes comprised by old iconic rhythms throughout the past that seamlessly come together to form a sound that is very layered yet strangely simplistic.

@ilaydaksk not "intelligent." Emotional, unique, and well-written. That's what this is. Music has nothing to do with intelligence, with the possible exception of the lyrics. I'm sick of people claiming they're smart because they listen to good music
@Ajapam34 Well, that's silly if ones believe that they are smart bc they listen to good music. What I meant by 'intelligent' is to refer to IDM music. It's a term used for music full of distinct features. Intelligent music does not mean you listen and get smarter. People call it 'intelligent' because all noises, beats, bass lines, drum patterns, vocals, ambience or whatever used by music makers fit each other "intelligently".
@TheGuGeZ Its called the Sqweegel - its in the background as the team walk into a place that sells gimpsuits - its playing in the shop on their stereo..
Shut up and listen. you all know what it is, because you can feel it, most of us have been in some dark places, sometimes we find beauty from what comes out of those times. Whether you've changed, moved on, or you're still there, you are listening to burial, which is definitely a step in the right direction.
The awkward moment when you all realize that genres are something to help people categorize music in order to find artists doing related or similar music/choose music fitting current feelings
Genres do not exist for people to put artists into clearly defined and fixed roles and judge them on how good or bad they fulfill the conditions being prescribed in the definition of a genre.
As if one said:
I really like chinese noodles but they're 2cm too long. So i don't like those.
@Gunta554 you have a really really sad and small view of music my friend. every sort of music defines to what you have said, and many people LOVE music which is more than "2cm" long.
@fagatron97 Trust me mate, 2step is what the 'step' in dubstep means. This is the kind of stuff dubstep is derived from, like early garage half beats :)
@CannibalWhirm As if you'd come listen to a Burial track, and the best you can contribute is your knock knee'd theory that somebody in cyberspace might not have pigeon hole'd it correctly. Nobody else felt awkward. Just you. Everyone else couldn't give a shit if its ambient 2-step, future garage, dubstep, or anything inbetween. Please GTFO.
So many bangers that get their panties in a bunch when they hear the word dubstep. Dubstep is just a word people like to say, they don't even know what it means. I like listening to music. This is music.
@skillson753 not gonna lie, love those guys too, but this right here is soulful man, and thats something rusko, datsik or chrispy will never be able to do. I recommend u listen to this with your eyes closed, in the dark. fuck off with that weed shit, cuz this'll be all you need.

Why are the two comments just people dealing with people's ignorance?
Why can't we have top comments that actually display something beneficial; esp. on a wonderful track such as this one?
Can't you see that you only spread the depth of this ignorance, and not actually state something that breaks this void of ignorance?
You aren't proving anything by stating the obvious. What do you think ignorance stands for?
This song is beautiful. Great song to listen to while philosophising. ^^
