  • The Germans should have just gone around Stalingrad.

  • @cory2146 hahahaha Troll-Tactics. U mad, Stalin- Fag? :D

  • yeah,"good old honest hard working germans" who s gonna to save the europe that is on the edge of bankroptcy because of the "lazy meditteranians" hahahahahahahah bullocks what money??? and what saving???todays money is worth nothing in reallity, its all just an illusion, the finnacal monetar sistem has to be changed completely, until this happens all is in vain

  • the fourth reich is on the rise-the european union under the dictate from berlin!

  • @hmcccpp A 4th Reich on the rise under a European union?? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

  • @Lennon4ever1 THAT THE EUROPEAN UNION ITS GOING TO BE A FOURTH REICH,the germany will dominate so called eu in every ascpects and segments of life, wtf should supposed to mean!!??

  • @hmcccpp Yeah sure! I'll believe that when I see it..All Germany cares about now is making money you idiot, and rightly so! '4th Reich' ..I never laughed so hard in my life!!

  • @hmcccpp The 3rd reich died with Hitler so get over it, all that's left is a bunch of moronic skinheads who miss the good ol' days! -Stupid

  • @hmcccpp Uhm, you know there are more neo-nazis in america than in most european countrys together?

  • russians killed to little germans, they should killed them all!!!glory to soviets the liberators of europe!!slava rusijji!!

  • @hmcccpp liberators of europe?! you fuckers are as bad the germans- you killed poles and took there land and oppressed those under the iron curtain- fuck stalin and that russia can go to hell!

  • @hmcccpp Russian destroyed over 70% of german war machine.

  • it must have been hell fighting in rat warfare, respect to both sides men

  • I wonder how this battle would've went if Rommel commanded it....

  • @futurebestseller84 I do not think it was entirely the fault of von Paulus who was doing what Hitler wanted. At the end of the day, the stupidity is throwing away the obvious advantage of speed, manoeurability, good radio contact etc to fight a war which suited the other side. The only logical way of capturing Stalingrad was through surrounding it - somewhat difficult with the river behind but not impossible.

  • @alanheath2 Simply, use the method of old medieval siege tactics. Surround it, Bomb it, etc. Until all moral is lost then pound it.

  • @leratao talk is cheap, blood isn't

  • haha that was SO fake at 8:13 lol

  • @prosinz1997 umm u wanna get stab in the heart with the point of my knife

  • I think there should be a call of duty game from the battle of stalingrad.

  • @eastern2western I take it you haven't played through the first call of duty

  • @SmileyBlueCheshire sorry, my last game console is the nintendo 6 bit. now I feel old.

  • @eastern2western I never had a games console. I am obviously much older.

  • The danger was a couple of weeks of chunk ice. Once the river froze over the Soviets lay tracks, and would roll tons of supplies across better than the ferries.

  • Chuikov was an awesome commander. 62 Army went on to become 8th Guards Army, and took the surrender of Nazi Germany. In the pictures when he first arrives he looks young and spry. The next spring in victory-at-Stalingrad pictures, he looks awful.

  • Politics out the way,God have mercy on the poor souls who were affected. German. Romanian, Italian, Hungarian, Ukranian and Russian.

  • Everyone, ignore CHRISTYMOR1 / 2001Horatio . He post nothing but hate filled comments on every video he goes too. He is just a sad excuse for a troll.

  • Well Tebok73509 showed his class with that erudite and gentlemanly contribution. So... if one refuses to believe the Hollywood Version of WWII and the decades of American propaganda since the war ended, one should expect verbal abuse. Wonderful.

US casualties WWII: 400,000 - Russian casualties: 37 Million. Destroyed US cities: zero. And you fools think Reagan "beat" the Russians. Bbbbwwwwwwaaaaahahahahahahahaha!

  • @CHRISTYMOR1

    But he's right.

I'm not American but the USA ultimately helped a lot. No disrespect.

  • And Americans think they were in WW II! LOL

  • @2001Horatio Ummmm they were... Western Front and in the Pacific. Lets not forget that the American's supplied the Russians (as well as every other allied nation) which much needed supplies and equipment.

You sir, are one really dumb close minded, arrogant piece of shit. Read up on History before you make such dumbass comments that make you look like a complete loser.

Do the world a favor, post a you tube video of your parents slicing your throat.

  • It's true, the United States and UK and Allies were at war on THREE fronts, the USA supllied USSR with 2 million pairs of felt boots, Sherman tanks etc. The Russians, yes did win major battles - and were notorious for sending their own soldiers forth to protect their tanks and not the other way around, T34's probably ran over more Soviets than Germans.

  • this is hell on a scale that we, as americans, and also citizens from a democratic country, cant even fathom

  • @futurebestseller84 no shit. this is crazy. horrors unknown!

  • love the shots of the grain station, eagerly awaiting RO2 :)

  • If you want to CRINGE really really hard, just read the comments on any WW2 video.

Farkkking hell, amazing how gay some people can be.

  • thanks for the uploader. no offense but i'm sick of always hearing that US and britain won this war. well they would have not won it in the west if not for the eastern front.

  • @kuyaoyster That's true but it's also the same if it was the other way around, the British Empire survived the invasion, therefore tieing up potential Japanese forces who were looking to take USSR from the East allowing USSR breathing space.

  • @Gooner018 The Japanese invading the Soviet Union? Bahaha.

  • @Gooner018 Learn history dude USSR have an non-agression pact with Japan

  • i think the germans should had continued their advance through the left or right of the city and surround the city through the other side of the volga to prevent reinforcments from arriving.

  • The Soviet Army was in their homeland. They were well dug in and knew the area well + they had numerical superiority. The Germans on the other hand had to storm them making themselfs vulnerable. Thats very brave storming well dug in locals. The Germans still had a 2 to 1 ratio in kills. Making them the better soldier in close combat aswell as mobile warfare. They were the best soldiers that ever lived and that is a simple fact. The soviets knew it. In the end they were outnumbeed and lost.

  • @LootsEr The Russians defeated Hitlers best soldiers on the Eastern front at the cost of 5 Soviet Soldiers for every 1 German soldier. Hitler sent his best troops to the Eastern Front. Why? Because he faces the biggest country on the planet. USA and UK faced mostly young boys and old men on the Western Front and they had overwelming air superiority. Who won WW2 in Europe? The Russian numbers in men, the winter and the Rasputitsa. German population 80 million. Russian population 200 million.

  • @LootsEr Russian population never been even close to 200 mln. It was actualy population of the whole Soviet Union. The real russian population is about 110 mln at the 1940. So why you don't combine the entire forces that subordinate to the Reich on the eastern front wich is include many armies of Europian countries such as Italy, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Montenegro, Albania? Combined they was much much larger than the Soviets.

  • @LootsEr

Biggest country on the planet doesn't mean most populated country on the planet. Population of Russian Federation (139 mln) close to the population of Japan (127 mln).

  • Such a fascinating display of heroism.

  • Thx for the upload-it would be great if more understood history...

  • Was Stalingrad being targeted purely for its symbolic value? Once the bombings had destroyed its infrastructure and general military usefulness, why not leave it alone, or trick the Russians into keeping troops there through feints and misdirection because they value it more than you do?

  • thats why hitler lost!, he wanted to destroy symbols instead of capturing the advantages & use em!!!▐▐▐

  • @Czaendermajer Hitler, would almost never listen.

  • hitler had a impediment, sifili in his brain!, anyways ignorance is worse than impediment!!! check the leaders today!, destroying the economy & mass murdering everybody!, but yeah hitler lost cause getting sifili by being horny HOUEHOUEHOUE ▐▐▐8D

  • @oldbluescott There was a spur line on the East bank of the Volga. As long as Stalingrad held out, that spur line would pour reserves into that bridgehead over the Volga. Pushing the Soviets off the West bank of the Volga, was a necessity as the Wehrmacht possessed insufficient force without the cover of that river-line across such an extended front.

  • @oldbluescott

yes, as that guy in part 1 said: Hitler wants to go for Stalingrad because its STALINgrad! Its really senseless to capture the whole city where it would be enough to destroy the factory complexes. No, it was for Hitler a duel of the dictators.. the struggle to the death and psycho warfare.. and their soldiers were the pawns or to be exact the running cannon fodder. On both sides, it didnt matter how many soldiers died, they were just the tool to achieve their aims.

  • interesting at 6:32 you can see a georgian flag in stalingrad

  • who is that god damned so called "hystorian"?!? he does a very cheap propaganda work, but i don't wonder, he has a quite interesting name ;)

  • sorry not for very good english :D

  • OnziTam ,it's true, soviet soldiers really spartans..without weapons, without manpower resources..fighting only with will power, heroism, love to the motherland.

Stalin more better than Hitler, but he is tiran..

  • well atleast soviets only collapsed in their way & selling lots of crap at sky rocket price (ak47 value $1 foreign price $20) and russia is not shit today or was forced into european neo-fascist union of wallstreet bankers empire!!!▐▐▐

  • @deadmanbl4 The 62nd Army at Stalingrad was properly led & trained for the situation, and knew what to do. The Wehrmacht was bled to death attempting to storm the 4 fortified factory complexes.

  • the soviets freed all the prisoners from the city, gave them 200ml of vodka and told them to rush the germans and if they survive they would be free and the german weapons overheated and after that the russian soldiers charged

  • where can i buy some of these videosb anyone knows n how much ar they?

  • Terence McSwiney the irish revolutionary once said that it's not those who can inflict the most but those who can suffer the most that will conquer.. Stalingrad is a testament to that..

  • what a brilliant saying n so so true in this case, even the germans are known for their toughness n bravery WW2 does not prove this to me battle of Britain the RAF way outnumbered gave them a hummering Monty same thing n Now they faced the best of the best outnumbering the Russians many times in man power n war machinery n they still Lost so they are Not as good as the Britiish n way behind the Russians even they are good same as the japs many times they outnumbered the americans n still lost

  • 8:13 damn brutal shanking

  • I Admire the tactics of the Russians. despite of the obvious fact that they were heavily outgunned. it's true, there were more casualties on the russian side, but its the end that would justify it. and that's russians prevailed at the end. they won. - philippine war research student

  • FALSE the casualties were very near equal even though the Germans had the Russians outnumbered during all of the siege and most Russians were conscripts and villagers. In Stalingrad the Russians dominated the Germans with tactics determination and pure will.

  • Yeah, because after the shtalin decimated his own military by sending his best officers to siberia the only thing the soviets had was their will. The reason the soviets had lost so many men was because shtalin disassembled the military beleiving that shitler would not invade.

  • what i heard on the BBC decisivebatles of WW2 stalin had his best trained n equipted troops the Siberian devision on the pacific to gace the japs when one of th gand of 5 cambridge communits symphathisers was working at the British embassy in japan n he told the Russians japan would attack america Not them that enabled them to pull their best troops to face the nazis in the battle of stalingrad am sure stalin must have send some to siberia whatever the bravery of the Russians is UNQUESTIONABLE

  • very true

  • Not only that, but the shtalin decimated his military because he believed shitlers treaty to not invade.

  • lol

  • @ThunderAppeal Stalin decimated his military b4 the pact.

  • Russia had a stronger military thats why Germany lost in Stalingrad, obviously.

  • more man power, but germans had better weaponary

  • sometimes both sides occupied one house

  • Thumbs UP ! + 30 ;)

  • Russians were dying more from aerial bombings and tank shells. In close range combat Russians were better prepared then Germans.

  • Believe it or not, the shovel the soviets had made the difference. They sharpened it and used it like a sword.

  • even the germans knew (especialy in ww1) that the spade was better than the bayonet!, cause it wont stick in & it may behead anyone!!!▐▐▐

  • @Czaendermajer

Yes, I have one. You can cut pretty well with it. You can also throw it.

  • @tallswede68 i think the soviets sheer nunbers and the incompitence of the german command might have played a bigger roll in this battle than a shovel.

  • @RottenFuhur1488

Maybe the numbers played a role, but what does "command" have to do with hand to hand combat? The spade was better for that type of warfare than anything the germans had.

  • @FreudGroid its all about the moral. the soviets had the moral advantage in every way. defending the home land, great leadership, numerical superiority which gave them confidence. the germans on the other had a leader that basicaly said to bad my battle plan didnt work, you cant retreat so just die. no food, no ammo, russian winter, far from home = no moral. i think the moral makes the biggest difference in hand to hand combat. not just the weapons

  • @RottenFuhur1488 defending the mother land -_-

  • @tallswede68 wow. I thought it would be swung like an axe.... a shovel looks more like an axe.

  • @tallswede68 well sword or not, in these hand to hand combats, a shovel is sure better than ur fist

  • @tallswede68 .... shovels had already been used in WWI...and at all sides for close combat...believe it or not..nothing the Russians invented

  • dude tons of Russians died at just 1 street corner and at mamayev kurgan so i dnt really know what ur talking abt and the most dangerous was rattenkried (rat warfare) in sewers and every single rooms of 1 house !!!

  • ur comparing a war that has every once in awhile fighting to a world war battle that lasted months...next compare the 6 day war of hanoi to a ham sandwich...

  • In this video it looks as if only germans were killed in the fighting. Actually almost twice as many russians were killed.

  • History is written through the eyes of the victor.

  • Yeah...

  • The russians had to attack german held positions in mass waves by orders,Or be shot by there own.

German machine gun wasted most of them. They had the feared mg42 1500rpm. I cannot imagine how hard and bloody the battle was. Let us never kill each other like animals that way again. I hope

  • That's horse shit, stop learning your history from from shitty hollywood movies.

  • When did Hollywood ever make a movie about Stalingrad? The ones I can think of were German, Russian and English.

  • enemy at the gates,

  • British

  • you know what he means,it was a big movie about stalingrad

  • plenty of Russians die in this video, what are you talking about?

  • Stalin and his cronies were no better than Hitler, but the Russian people were true heroes.

  • @stevensw and the germans who fought with the same brave are no heroes, watch at both sides, germans were humans too...

  • @FromDuskTillDawn1992

"germans were humans too..." Did you mean humane fascists?

You have forgotten who started the mess.

  • @ObjectiveObserver2O Hitler the Austrain did btw

  • JUst like iraq! house to house

  • wow really. What about the witnesses?

  • LoL, he is actually comparing Iraq to Stalingrad... oh dear lord...

  • Any time there is fight between man and man or nation against nation ..there is point when one falls on the ground ..If the fallen one can continue the fight he always has the chance to win....This is the one of the few possibility for glory in our miserable human life

  • we're all doomed......

  • when in doubt, frag 'em out at 2:38

  • new Spartans

but actually the defended the cause

    amazing spirit

  • Thanls for the post KoLo2071, we need more dedicated people that are into history just like you, so all of youtube can expose these awesome war documentaries XD!!!
