  • so basically a pedal for guitarist who cant be bothered to put a bit of effort in. tuning down and feeling the loose strings is what its all about... for trivium fans... who are shite

  • @greenham1 try tuning down a 8-38 std. E guitar to std. A ;)

  • yes, my only question is, how much for the pink guitar?

  • Nice. So if you want lets say Db or drop c, like if you want to play lets say August Burns Red or someone like that, tune the e string down to d? I think I might be getting a pedal for christmas. Also does the pedal have distortion too and if so how good does it sound in person? If I get the pedal I will be using drop d mostly. When you use drop c, can you still do power chords like, 000 111 000 333 222 000, etc? I just made that up randomly to give an example. xp

  • @jedimastergarcia87 It just change the tuning from one octave to another while keeping a good tension and definition in the sound. It's the same change you can do on a sequencer but on a pedal. It doesn't have a disto in it

  • All I can say is that this is by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar the best guitar pedal I've ever both heard and seen...

  • It's two hundred dollars. Not that expensive. Especially for what I need and want in my band.

  • @fraser. Thanks. I'm sure I can figure it out. Does it come with a booklet to show which settings are which and all?

  • I just want to know which note symbol is for drop c for when I tune to drop d. I might do a cover of Disturbed's Another Way To Die when I get this pedal and its in drop c. Is it like the 3rd note symbol?

  • @jedimastergarcia87 it tunes down in semitones, so press the 'down' switch twice and you'll go down a tone, which will take down from Drop D to Drop C

  • Not for me. I'm just wondering which note symbole would be for like standard d or drop c. (Say picture if I want to jam it out to Pantera or August Burns Red). I don't have one yet but I think any guitarist should have this pedal. Would be alot easier to do drop tunings and would save alot of time especially for shows.

  • Nice. Hoping to score one for my birthday this year which is in October. I was just wondering though, when you're in drop d, which note symbol thing would be for like d standard and drop c tuning? I like those tunings alot but can't get in tune that low. Thanks for the info. =]

  • @jedimastergarcia87 its very expensive

  • At 4:50 I'm coming in to steal all those pretty acoustics :)

  • @Falling2Grey29

    Hehehe

  • Hey man, you are pretty good at demoing.

  • this thing is insane!!!!! I need it so badly!! are there any other ones that are less expensive??

  • @Kostas1601 You pay for the quality man!

  • @theysayfall sostos!

  • If anyone is interested in this pedal go to Ebay and look up Great Morpheus Drop Tune w/ Box and Power Adapter!! :-) Its practically new and in great condition and $100 cheaper than what you can get it for at Sam Ash, Guitar Center and Musicians Friend.

  • I can drop tune my Floyded guitars to drop d no problem. I do it with the tuning pegs. They all need re-strung though.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 cool story bro

  • Comment removed

  • They meant dropping all strings because you can play drop c stuff but you'd have to play it like youre in standard, that means you cant do bar chords for power chords.

  • I actually called samash a few weeks ago and they said you didn't have to drop tune any strings at all. Quote, "Thats whats nice about the droptune pedal is that you don't have to drop tune your guitar strings".

  • @jedimastergarcia87 I was in Sam Ash like three days ago and tried this pedal out and you have to drop down to D for a Drop C or Drop B tuning etc. But the only string you need to detune is the low E and then you can use the pedal which isnt too much of a big deal unless you're using a floyd rose. The pedal is a polyphonic pitch shifter meaning it drops all the strings, so you cant drop one string a whole step and keep the other strings the same key.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 i hope you bought one then!!

  • So do you have to detune your e string down to a d to be in lets say drop c tuning on the pedal or no? I know you have to do that on the DigiTech Whammy but this pedal might be different. Do you have to detune any of the strings at all for like a drop d or c setting? If not then which octave is for drop d and drop c? I play alot of drop d and c metal so. I'm thinking of getting this pedal next week if money allows.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Yes exactly ... you must tune your e down to a d in order to play drop C

  • this would be great if you had a floyd rose :)

if only i had 200 dollars.....

  • everyone complaining about the price tag 200 bucks is a steal for such a piece of equipment

  • hey man im having trouble loading the video so i'll just ask before watching lol... does this pedal bring a harmonizer or something, if it does it would be just too perfect haha

  • what other pedals can do this?? the much cheaper ones?

  • The pitch shifter on the Line 6 Spider 4 does this as well its what i use, a floating bridge ibanez dream come true lol

  • just installed the latest firmware update for my droptune pedal, the pitch is gonna sound a lot more accurate now. Definitely worth buying if you got a floyd rose, and its good for metal songs if you wanna get from drop d to drop c. I play a lot of stuff in drop c these days coz of my band, so at the touch of a button i can get from drop d to drop c. with the firmware update the pitch will be a lot accurate

  • OMFG DO WANT

  • @IBurntTheCross go for it dude, if you're into metal and got a floyd rose i defo recommend this. i just installed the latest firmware update for it so the pitch will be very accurate now. i can get from drop d to drop c in the touch of a button with this pedal coz my band plays a lot of drop c metal songs (machine head, bmfv, cradle of filth)

  • I so need this. Recording an EP in drop B and one song is in drop F#, lol. This will work wonders! What's the price on this beauty?

  • @Archeron33 about 120 pound sterling in british currency, where u from?

  • @calumfmetal I'm from Sweden! :)

  • @Archeron33 i got mine for £135 so that's 157 euros. r u into metal? coz if u r, u need this pedal

  • @calumfmetal Oh god, I must have it. Can't wait for my money to arrive. Yeah, I'm into metal. But hm, there are just a few questions I have.

    1. Can I use it for recordings where I run the guitar through software such as Guitar Rig, via an external soundcard?

    2. My friends guitar is currently in Drop C, I believe. For my upcoming EPs the songs are in Drop B, and I know for sure this pedal can do that. But some songs are in Drop F. That's no problem, right?

  • @Archeron33 no/1 yeah u can use it for recordings, it shouldnt be a problem man.

no.2 yes it can handle really fucking heavy tunings, such as drop F. fucking hell ive never played in drop f thats fucked up! u can install the latest firmware update once u get the pedal

the pedal will be absolutely fucking ace once you've installed the firmware update!

  • @calumfmetal Holy crap. I actually think I'm gonna buy it.

One last question though, does it work for bass guitars as well?

  • @Archeron33 yeah it should work with bass guitars! it worked with electric violin so i don't see why not

  • @calumfmetal Sweet! Well then, I consider this pedal as mine, then!

  • I have been gigging with this pedal since it came out. It is much easier than keeping all the guitars setup with fresh strings all the time. I love it. I am a tone purist so hear is my complaint. It puts a slight chrous to your sound and you have a very very little volume drop again little, you have a different sustain loss. The sustain drops out digitally instead of smooth. It is hard to hear and that is after a while. It is worth the purchase, worth the tone diff. for the perks.

  • @bsosnoski

    Hi,

Can this actually retune each string, so as to tune the guitar to an alternative like open g or Dadgad etc?

    Cheers

  • @SONGSTICKS no sorry man it detunes ur whole guitar and every single string. so if you wanna try dadgad tunings this pedal aint for u, but if you're needing to get from drop d to drop c very quickly then get this. if you're into metal bmfv the sword and any other detuned metal songs like drop c, drop b, drop Bb and drop A. Parkway Drive has a song called Sleepwalker which is in Drop Bb/A# SO THIS PEDAL IS VERY CONVENIENT THOSE THOSE KINDA SONGS, ROCK ON DUDE!

  • Love the idea of this pedal, definitely going to have to check it out. I usually keep a separate guitar tuned down, but the reviewer is correct in the fact that your intonation goes to crap the lower you tune, the tone goes to crap because of the lack of string tension, and generally the music sounds less than stellar. Gotta find one of these and check it out for myself.

  • .ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180636147521

  • can you drop tune one string like keep the rest standard there is a song i need to switch between drop d and c tuning?

  • Is this pedal True bypass?

  • dose it work with a bass guitar?

  • @hitl666 I've heard that it sounds bad with a bass. Not really sure though.

  • 4.12 Hendrix only ever had octave up

  • Does it alter your sound ?

  • @AceFire117 it doesn't alter your sound that much, its just a tiny bit drier, but u wont notice it

  • thats what IVe been dreaming of ..

  • @Loganator259 yes it does help thanks

  • also when i try to play the song in teh tuning its supposed to be in, it doesnt sound the same

  • i dont understand how to use this. like each half step is what tuning exactly?

  • @HAGHH half step is eb, AKA, e flat, hope that helps.

  • If my guitar are tuned on standard tuning B, can I then also down tuned 8 steps to Tuning F# or something, or is then also already finish at Tuning A?

  • does this work with acoustic guitars??

  • @phreebeere Good Question Peter!! If thats the case Im gonna invest in one!!

  • @Rob919Gore I would think so if you can plug it in, 'cause i've seen it demo'd with an electric violin which was quite cool XD

  • @Rob919Gore Hey dude, i read online that they dont work well with acoustics, but im getting one in a few days, its being delivered :P if you'd like me to let you know how it works i could pm it to you. just lemme know.

  • does anyone know where to position these on the pedal board, would it be at the end of the chain(Next to Amp)?

  • @DemirGuitar94 I'd say it could go anywhere.

  • @DemirGuitar94: well, in this cases you want to modify the sound straight from the source, so I would say it should be the first thing after the guitar.

  • Could you imagine this thing with an 8 string guitar...the brown note?

  • @DustieWaggoner Imagine it with a ten string guitar! You'd kill people!

  • @DustieWaggoner 5 string bass...

  • @DustieWaggoner Imagine it with a bass with a sub octave pedal on it.. That's the brown note right there!

  • @DustieWaggoner 9 string dude . . . . .

  • i see your 9 string and raise you a 10 string!

  • @DustieWaggoner wanna hear the fucked up part? Agile is making those now. . . . theyre custom order only but still. thats so much fucking string

  • this thing is 180. but. its. fucking. worth it

  • dear santa..

  • Damn, that thing actually works. I might try it out.

  • mmm.. i have pitch factor maybe i can use it

  • i want this SOOOOOOOOO BAD!

  • Probably one of the best ideas for guitar in a while.

  • what happens if you tune to drop a for example then drop tune some mre with the pedal

  • Wow, he's playing a DBZ guitar. You don't see many guitarists playing those. And I'm impressed by the pedal. I thought it was going to sound like crap and very digital but it sounds pretty good.

  • This is a great demo! Thanks!

  • Has anyone tried this on a bass?

  • Killer box I wan one. Your gonna loose distortion anyways when you tune that low changing presence and mids and trebles should fix it.

  • I wish i saw this before i got my floating trem rg set up in d standard

  • The sound of this box is great, but has anyone measured the latency?

    (I'm picky)

  • @cableaddict

nothing wrong with being picky :)

  • with one of these i can use my 7 string and bring it to 8 string tuning (F A# D# G# C# F# A# - half step down) which is great cos i dont need to buy another guitar :D one of the best ideas ive heard for guitar

  • i need me one of these

  • you look and sound like Aaron (ex underoath drummer)

  • @snapascrew and current The Almost singer

  • will this work with a combo amp?

  • can it tune to drop A ??

  • @CHICKMAGNET1713 That's what the man says.

  • @CHICKMAGNET1713 If you're in Drop D it will bring you to drop F or lower, i forget.

  • @CHICKMAGNET1713 well he went all the way down to Drop G so yes, drop A is feasible

  • Nice guitar.

  • i play in Drop C, Drop B, Half step down and one Step down, so im fucking running to buy this thing :D

  • Would this effect or change your guitar tone??

  • @dongsun24ify yes you lose alot of gain especially further down ( i now own this) im gonna try an overdrive pedal to compensate

  • @dongsun24ify did you watch the video? it's up to you to decide whether the effect of any specific mode of the pedal is acceptable or not, so listen to it again and pay attention as to whether the tone changes too much. then go to guitar center or whatever and try one out to see if you like it

  • the 200 price tag is kinda unappealing

  • @SSJ2Starscream its cheaper than multiple guitars

  • @SSJ2Starscream if your main guitar is worth say, 800 bucks... this offers you 7 more guitars. it's worth it my friend.

  • @SSJ2Starscream The idea is for gigging musicians, not the random person at home. Most succesful gigging musicians 200 bucks is like $20 to the random joe. Sad reality of the music world.

  • @SSJ2Starscream I'd say it's worth it when you think of the electronic engineering and the time and money it saves you from retuning or having to buy new strings for lower tunings. You get what you pay for most of the time. I bought a blackstar valve distortion pedal which i prefer over any mxr, digitech, or boss pedal.

  • @SSJ2Starscream that;s probably because you have no job.

  • @SSJ2Starscream whats unappealing is re stringing a floyd rose

  • im buying this.

  • for those wondering, a whole step down on the E string is like having an 8 string, then doing a droptune on it like drop D, i think its a little excessive for most players to be honest, but im sure that someone can do something really cool with it

  • lol railroad tracks for strings! xD

  • Awesome review, great sound!

    Thanks

  • Is it able just to drop tune the 6th string only? (eg, DADGBE)

Because if it can do that, im insta-buying it.

  • @ProgressiveGuitarist no it cant

  • @RobertSnyder808 thats gay

  • @ProgressiveGuitarist

It can't, but Line 6 Variax guitars can do that if you buy them with the interface cable. However, harmonics sound weird in dropped tunings.

  • I just came

  • The video crashes at 0:42.

  • how do you take off the octaver? its so annoying

  • acually there was one question that this video never answered

how would this work with different pedals like the boss mt-2 and other effects

  • great demo answered every question i had about this pedal you convinced me to buy this they should pay you to do reviews and demo pedals and guitars and amps thankx

  • i want!!!!!

  • This must be why one should have several guitars in diff tunings......?

This is best for one guitar owners...

  • Awesome video, great pedal, great demo, I'm getting this pedal!!! I'll soon be able to play Slipknot songs!! Tasty and tidy!! Fucking A!!!

  • I was really hoping this pedal would work as the ads say... I am satisfied!

  • Absolutely best demo on this pedal, good info, good sound, and great riffs!

  • Too bad it couldn't go UP 3.5 steps as well

  • @HalfBillion I heard they are working on a Morpheus "Capo" to do just that!

  • @upnorthbacon That would be cool, then they should combine to two, and that would be awsome.

  • what type of guitar is that black acoustic?

the one in the background with the broken up inlay around the soundhole

  • I really hope this catches on and more units like this find their way into music stores. Nothing is more irritating than having to re-tune every damn guitar in the place from drop C or D back to 440. If drop tuning is your thing, cool. But there's still plenty of great music to be played in traditional tuning.

  • i need this. i got a floyd rose and yeah.. enough said

  • Agreed, I need one of these for my floyd rose.

  • @Darkdevil1584 yeah my floyd gets pissed when i screw it like that

  • @Darkdevil1584 if you're looking to recreate the 1/4 step detuning that machine head and megadeth have used on their albums, unfortunately this pedal doesn't do it, but a digitech whammy pedal can help you out if u need to recreate the tunings on killing is my business and peace sells and burn my eyes etc, what kinda music u into?

  • @calumfmetal lool, hey top comment!, and i got this pedal like a month ago or so, but saddly it sounded like crap on my tube amp.. so i returned it:P and im into Arch enemy and stuff likethat

  • @Darkdevil1584 I'm a bot disappointed man coz this pedal is good if u get used to it. I'm in a band and we're playing a lot of covers that are in Drop C at the moment like Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, Cradle of Filth etc and Drop B like Slipknot as well, so I can get from Drop D to Drop C or Drop B in the touch of a button. I just installed a firmware update on my Droptune so the pitch is really accurate now! Shame about ur Droptune but oh well!

  • @calumfmetal i really wished it worked for me.. make my life really easy :/ but it sounds like shit on tube amps.. ohwell!

  • Great video sampler! My guitar teacher told me about this pedal (as well as the MXR Fullbore). Both are great, but if i could only get one, it would definitly be this

  • It would be great to demo the morpheus also with clean sound and crunch sounds, because here the distorsion hide the limitations of the morpheus. This demo is not very honest.

  • Best Reveiw of this pedal I've seen..thanks for posting..

  • only for guitar???

  • anyone knows how much it costs?

  • @itsdida123

they go for $199. There is a new one on ebay for $169.

  • would it sound ok with a distortion pedal and a compressor?

  • Hey, just wondering if you know how the firmware updates work? i got the pedal the other day, and plugged it into the computer, and nothing happened. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get updates for it - any help would be much appreciated.

  • Yeah like I keep getting this sound out of mine that is like octave harmonizing kind of its annoying, I don't know why... everyone else has a nice clean sound with it. Can somebody help with that?

  • I'm getting one tomorrow. Can't wait!

  • Just got it today. Great pedal, already my favourite piece of equipment. This pedal is gonna save me lots of time, energy and frustration. It doesn't alter the quality of the notes being played and it sounds fantastic! Highly recommend this for anyone who plays Metal.

  • How do you turn on and off the octaver?

  • Very informative video! I hope you do more. This guy knows his stuff.

  • I have customers who have to tote around a few guitars for different tunings. It doesnt seem to change the tone of the guitar. I like it

  • That's it. I'm selling my POG. This tracks remarkably well.
