I ran into these guys in Iowa City back in 1988 and had dinner with them. They were very cool. Too gay? I think back in time that was necessary and brave. Otherwise things would have been much different today.
@SubconsciousGatherer On rare occasion, yes. I've heard of gay folks who refused to go to parades because the parades were too queer for them. Most gays don't go around half-clothed, lead each other around on leashes, wear over the top makeup, flog each other, have sex in public, etc. R&P even has a song about that, "What Kind of Self-Respecting Faggot Am I?"
