  • hhahahahahahahaha funny as hell

  • That's what I wanna see :D

  • the showy moves are to intimidate confuse and to create unpredictability on where the opponent will attack

  • Doesn't work... See the guy on the left in an actual stance holding the bo the way you actually should. He just sat there and waited for the guys coolness to leave and opening big enough for a real hit. He smacked his elbow with an actual attack that has power behind it which would most likely leave that guy with a either hurt very bad or broken elbow, either way he would have dropped his staff and stumbed backwards holding his elbow, then he would have died =D Cool = Dead in real life.

  • Guy in black = Just for show.

  • The guy at the right in black didn't really do anything useful.

  • 0:11 He left himself a bit open spinning his body. Isnt a move like that risky if the opponent can stop the attacking bo by planting his in the ground, throwing the other guy off and countering?

  • @Mastermind8908 You'd think so, but keep in mind that the other guy would have to swing at or stab the guy who's spinning, and he'd have the risk of getting hit in that time.

  • @macburl2 seeing as how the video specifically states that they are using a bo staff style generally the bo staff was made out of a flexible wood that if it hit the ground would give the opponent the thought that you had but it would bounce back and a simple forward strike would follow through and be quicker than the counter attack

  • The guy in black is wasting a lot of energy spinning and twirling and in the end he is the one who get hit....LOL!!

  • i'll be taking up some weaponds forms over the summer and am looking forward to staff training.

i know there will be alot of shaolin staff training so it wont be like this necessarily, but i still enjoy these vids :)

  • lmao

  • Right on the money.

  • the guy doing those showy moves was open for an attack alot of times. showy moves are no good in a sparr.

  • It can look scary for people that don't know how to fight, but when fighting other people that are good with the weapons, they will just sit and watch you till you're open then smack you lol This video is a perfect example of this xD

  • @FALLEN9336 spinning the bo staff with two hands if you know what your doing puts up a good defense and gives any attacks your opponent throws in the middle of your spin the opening to easily block and counter

  • WoW

  • Well, in my opinion, the "showy" moves are to possibly confuse the person, or at least build momentum at an attack. But then again, who am I judge, I know nothing about this stuff, LOL

  • @LysolRox No the showy moves are to look cool, and to look COOL is everything.!!!!!:D

  • Notice how the guy who was not trying to look cool would have cracked that guy's elbow which would most likely disarm him from his weapon... All the guy did was sit and wait for his coolness to leave an opening... Then WACK!!! Nothing cool about real fighting. =)

  • I knew all those showy moves would do him no good. ;]

  • KOTE UCHI

  • geez i wanna learn that! ^^

  • Well put. Neither seemed eager enough to attack, though.

  • As it should be.

  • Black guy: Much effort, no effect.

White guy: One strike, game over.

    Very nice lesson.
