He committed a crime in which a family lost a loved one. He then escaped from prison and proceeded to live a life on the run. Indeed, he did return and turn himself in. I can't help thinking that if he had served out his sentence, parole may have been granted sooner. He chose to live his 'free days' earlier on the run. Sorry he now may be, but he took a very long time to demonstrate it. That said, I do question why Jack Straw did not follow the recommendation of the parole board.
Jack mills died of leukemia. Nothing to do with the robbery. Even the Coroner said so. Also Biggs was just the lookout, a very minor part in the whole thing. Certainly not worthy of 30 years imprisonment.
