  • so I need to know how big is the volume difference between the two models? pretty much any gig I'm gonna be playing will be with just this amp for ALL my volume.. is the iv worth it then?

  • @TopDogX64 There will not be that big of a volume difference but the IV will sound fuller because of the bigger power amp and extra speaker. Both are loud enough for gig's.

  • Too bad Fender doesn't make Mustang II with same number of controls as Mustang III then I would want it. That jump from 40 watts to 100 watts is too big.

  • I like what you did show, and the demos were good. What you did not cover, which I am guessing is important to any potential buyer, are: Effects Loop, Footswitches, AUX in, Headphone out, USB connection to work with the Fender software to tweak all the settings on the amp and PRICE. These are a steal at their current price.

  • Ah, did you try this amp to hook up with multi effect pedal? I'm just planning to buy this one next week and I have a multi effects pedal. I need an advice.

  • @32mhalilz It does take pedals well but you really won't need it....The amps rocks with all the built in effects as well!.

  • @NstuffMusic How did you hook up the pedals? Did you use the send return outlet or just on the input?

  • @32mhalilz It depends on the processor. If it is something that has distortion or a preamp in it then I would put it in front....If it is strictly effects, then use the loop.

  • Sooooo I have a serious question about effect pedals. I have a pedal board with 8 (will be more as time goes on) pedals on it, I was wondering how this amp reacts to pedals being put on the front end of it. Excuse the "soooo" it's a bad habit I picked up from my friend. But I like it.

  • @JaySon33883 It accepts pedals very well. I just bought one last week! I am very very impressed!

  • im getting 4

  • I have a 150 watt Mustang 4, my neighbors hate me.!

  • "ORANGE" r good too

  • vox ac30 valvereactor or this fender mustang?

  • @DieToFleshNotSpirit I really like the Mustang amps for the money you get so many sounds.

  • @NstuffMusic over the mountain!

  • @DieToFleshNotSpirit I'm in the same predicament.. what did you go for in the end? :)

  • How many custom presets can you keep?

  • @hazuinf I Pretty sure you can alter all 100 presets.

  • why cant i find a soldano sound in a cheap amp damnit

  • Do the user's presets reset when you turn off the amp?

I was thinking about buying it.

  • @GuitarZile You can "unlock" the presets and save up to 100 of your own custom patches! Very very cool.

  • @NstuffMusic love your chucks. btw, can pedals be plugged in? i know the frontman isnt able to have pedals hooked up. which is gay imo

  • @GuitarZile no it has a memory and you can save the presets, and then if for instance one day you decide to alter the gain while you are playing and decide you prefer the sound that way you just click save and it will create the same sound next time you select it, you can also reset all the presets to factory setting if you change the and then decide you want to start again. well worth the money !

  • getting a Mustang IV for christmas! this vid. convinced me :-)

  • This amp sounds fucking awesome!!! Love it.

  • I'm thinking of buying this amp, or the vox vt80+, which one do you suggest?

  • @CrossHolder92 I think the Vox VT80+ has a more professional sound with the real preamp tube being used but the Fender Mustang is a better value.

  • @NstuffMusic Thanks, so you mean that the mustang IV has better value for money? The Vox is 120 watt mono, I think, and the mustang IV is a 150 watt stereo. Because the IV is on a holiday sale, I can get it for 360 euros (normally it is 470), and the vox vt 80+ is 350 euros, so the price difference is neglectable. But mustang has FX Loop and the Vox doesn't. Is that important? Don't know what it does. Also, mustang has one channel and vox has 8. Is being mono or stereo important?

  • @CrossHolder92 the stereo feature is great for playing at home or when you are using the amp un-mic'ed to a PA(which is usually mono). the stereo sound really fills a room with a pleasing "dimensional"sound. as for the effects loop, that is just a circuit that allows you to add extra effects pedals or rack mount processors more ez,but you probably won't need many extra effects with the many the amp comes with. hope this helps. go with the mustang

  • At 4:04 you sure changed the #23 pretty fast with that "fizz" noise ???? I just ordered one and I hope when it comes in the mail that they have fixed this with later production line. I have read that Feb 11 models still had this problem.

  • @ctguy1955 My amp has FIZZ, where at the 4:04 on this vid, its just a hum. I am returning my amp tomorrow and will get something else, as my GC store has not received any new ones in over a week and a half.

  • whats this fender like for thrash metal sounds, im thinking of buying the mustang v or a line 6 spider iv?????

  • @cakeslice1988 Both amps are comparable. They could both do the thrash metal sounds.

  • @cakeslice1988 i have the liine 6 spider 3 and the distortion for it is terrible

  • just ordered one yesterday

  • This video really sold me, I'm off to buy a Mustang V on Monday.

  • @Luca1369Brasi Excellent choice!!! You will be happy with it!

  • I found alot of info about this AMPs, they really rock! Only Positive Comments for Mustang! :D

Highest ratings :) I hope i buy one :) Thanks!

  • I just think of buying new amp, so , i need amp, with wich one i can play with band :)

Becouse my 25W isnt enought for playing in band :(

I have for choice Fender FM212R, Fender III mustang, -Peavey Bandit 112, or vypyr 120 :)

  • @BaDG0oD Well the Fender has the edge with built in effects and tuner. And the amp sounds great!!

  • And also, is it good for playing with band, is it enogh loud?

  • @BaDG0oD I probably wouldn't go with anything less then the Mustang IV for a live band. The III might pull it off if the amp was pointing up at you or you had an extension cabinet. great sounding amp.

  • Is this amp good with pedal effects, like Boss DS-1'?

  • @BaDG0oD Yes it id...but you really wouldn't need it.

  • Does the amp make a humming sound when turned on I hate when that happens so was jut wondering because I'm interested in getting this amp

  • Master of Puppets...

    lol

    Really a good amp anyway...

  • 03:00 looking at the Tuner button it looks like it's flickering compared to the other lit buttons. Glitch? Also that "fizz" is unacceptable, this is Mustang number IV you'd think Fender would have their sh*t together by now.

  • @lockpicker2k Te tuner button also shows the tempo of a delay or speed of a modulation effect

  • Using the clear twin, about 4:00 on timeline, I can hear a "fizz" noise. The amp is very good, but this noise really sucks.

  • Can I make the distortion more heavy than the one shown at 5:25? Sorry for a noob question, but I'm not into electric guitars and amps that much.

  • @wogen20 Sure you can..it gets pretty heavy

  • I was wondering if you could do a review on the Fender Mustaing I cause im probably getting that one soon.

  • Hey, thanks for the review. I have a question....I'm flipping back and forth whether I will get the mustang II or III. I'm a house/room player only. I think it's worth the extra money for the screen and better celestion speaker in the III. What concerns me is if it is too much for the house. I know modelling keeps it's tone for the most part regardless of volume but do you need to crank the III a little bit to get it to sound better and get the speaker moving? Thanks.

  • @presatito It actually is PERFECT for the house. I was actually going to but one for myself for practicing because my rig is usually in the band truck. It is portable and could even handle a band rehearsal if tilted up towards your ear.

  • ho keeps saying emm in the background???

  • Can you tap in delay time 'live' using the Footswitch pedal or are you stuck with what you've programmed only?

  • @jdminor7b5 It can be done for sure with the two button foot switch...it is an assignable function in the amp utility menu. I am pretty sure you can use both two and four button foot switches at the same time to really increase the foot switching possibilities

  • Can you save the fender fuse sounds into one of the amp presets and not have to play through the computer?

  • @TomHopkins24 Yes if you have it hooked up to your computer with a USB cable.

  • Hmmm... What was the sonfg you played in the Intro? Reminds me of Megadeth...

  • @Jonathanpoll dude its ozzy i dont know

  • @MrShredder666 Nope its not Ozzy. ITs 502 from Megadeth, I just checked. google ti, and about 15 seconds through you will recognise it.

  • @Jonathanpoll hate to say it mate its not he eveen says he playing an ozzy riff

  • @MrShredder666 Oops, my bad, Still, its similar

  • a friend of mine is interested in this amp, the Mustang IV, is it compatable with effects pedals such as a Boss ME 25 multi effects? would it be good on stage?

  • @21otakugirl ....It is compatible but the effects and tones in this amp are really good alone too. It would be great on stage.

  • Is the mustang 3 loud enough to play in a blues rock band? or will i have to mic it?

  • @TheZimmy84 It's a 100 watts so it will be loud enough. $259.99 at nstuffmusic with coupon code

  • will the mustang IV be capable of doing some gigging and get those really high volumes?

    Thanks a lot, guys

  • @DrugsOfPeace Yes it's a 150 watts.

  • I bought the Mustang III from my local music store. I am very impressed with it. Great sound and patches. Am going to use the clean and crunch settings for playing country and rockabilly.

  • are there many differences between the mustang iii and the iv other than the wattage?

  • @wretcheddog The IV has a extra 5o watts and a extra 12" speaker.

  • @wretcheddog It's good until Fender raises the price. Any questions let us know. Thanks, nstuffmusic.

  • this is an exceptional amp, i bought it yesterday, i cant be more happy with it, but there's something bothering, why is it so cheap?? does it have any problems?

  • @feewert42 dude $500 aint that cheap. i don't know what amps you're looking at? all comparables are in that price range. maybe you're thinking of all tube amps which are much more expensive because tubes are expensive and the warmth of a tube amp is hard to match with transistors. but this mustang amp is a great sounding amp

  • Awesome video guys! How long is the coupon valid for? I'm still saving up for this amp, and $259.99 is the best deal out there.

  • You've convinced me to buy this amp. I was eyeing it but now I will buy it.

  • @DuoSkye The Mustang III is $259.99 and the Mustang IV is $454.99 both with free shipping at nstuffmusic with coupon code. If your interested let me know and I will send you the coupon.

  • @NstuffMusic Could you send me that coupon code as well?

  • @BlueBarrier782 COUPON CODE: 33633740

  • @NstuffMusic Thanks!

  • @DuoSkye You will be very happy with it!

  • I DON`T KNOW at the beginning! great!

  • is there any way to disable the knob that changes the sound to the amp because i need a cheap but more powerful and reliable solution to my busted fender 212r, but during live use i tend to jump off my amps and standing on them for show, so i don't want to be worrying about accidently hitting the knob and changing the tone to my sound when i'm all over my amp during a live show?

  • @twist6466 No you can not disable the knobs.

  • I'm just wondering why didn't they built in some distortion type of effects?

Can you add effects to the amp with help of FUSE software?

  • Will it work ok with 7 and 8 string or Drop-C 6-string guitars? I'm thinking of getting one for home practice and recording use. It only has to sound reasonable for that use, not as ballsy as my JVM stack.

My wife calls it 'a noise problem' so the idea is to have good sound at really low volume, like listening to a cd or so. Is it ok with headphones?

Is there any noticable latency when playing really low notes?

    Thanks.

  • @lostingravy At lower volumes it will be fine, even at moderate volumes it will surprise you! It's great with headphones.

  • Let me say I just bought the Mustang IV for 499 minus 20% from an internet coupon I had the Mustang IV is AWESOME!! I have been a blues guitarist for 20+ years and a former friend of SRV's I use a 1971 Dunlop Crybaby Wah Wah and a vintage TS9 tube screamer along with one of the presets I wont tell you which one, I get Stevie's tone....not his sound, that came from his fingers via his soul but the tone I can get recording tracks with the included software is awesome this amp rocks I rate it a A

  • This amp sounds WAY BETTER than my 2,400 all tube Marshall TSL. I'm getting a Mustang!!!!!!!

  • @supercarboy2

    somehow I doubt that!

  • @DisposableHeros423 Yes to both. I can't say enough good things about these amps. So many features for the buck! And it sound great too!

  • Can you pluck in a MP3 player in the aux to play back tracks?

  • @PIlotrcm YES YOU CAN!

  • How reliable are these amps? And what is the wattage? Im looking to purchase an amp, mostly for blues playing a Strat using Tube Screamer, Small Clone for playing in small clubs. Overall how do they compare with the Vox AV series?

  • @Gideon6640man They have a perfect track record with us so far, I don't think we have seen one come back with a service issue. The quality of the sound is comparable to the VOX, the effects are better in the Fender in my opinion. The Mustang series is in more demand as far as I can tell.

  • how will this amp sound with the js100, also how will it sound with an electronig drumkit plugged into it?

  • @KBo24o It would be great with the JS-100!!!! the drum machine would be okay up to moderate volumes using the aux input.

  • @NstuffMusic

Ok, I'm currently using a Samick LA40R (it's not very good), do you think there will be a noticeable difference if i switch to this amp? It's gonna cost me $550 here in Australia, do you think it's worth it? Thankyou!

  • @KBo24o YES!!! IT IS A GREAT LITTLE AMP FOR THE MONEY!

  • 2 questions:

Will this amp sound good with the JS100?

    also

Since it's a digital modelling amp, does that mean if I hook up my electric Drumkit it will sound good?

  • Great demo!!!! thanks!

  • Holy crap!!! Research in amps stops here!!

  • I am a big metal player i play mostly metal but also alot of clean stuff and i thought of buying this amp do you think it would be worth it for me?

  • @maxime323 For the money this amp is great and it will do any style of music. $259.99 for the Mustang III with coupon code at nstuffmusic.

  • can i get a death metal or deathcore tone out of this amp?

  • @theillsofmodernman12 Yes it has alot of gain and EQ control.

  • @NstuffMusic thanks ur vid helped

  • I fucking loveeeee this amp!!! Im getting it once my American Standard Tele Arrives!!!! Cant wait!!!

  • i became in love with this amp, but why is it to cheap? is it a bad amp? does it have problems?

  • @feewert42 No it's not a cheap amp and we have not had any problems. Fender put out a great amp at a price point to be competitive with Line 6.The Mustang III is $259.99 with coupon code at nstuffmusic.

  • @NstuffMusic well i dont mean cheap like a crappy amp, its a fantastic amp, but then why are the sampled amps on this amp way to expensive than this? or simply this is not a high end amp?

  • @feewert42 The Sample amps are tube amps which are more expensive because of the design and the cost to manufacture them compared to a solid state amp.

  • @NstuffMusic then im so buying this amp!

  • @feewert42 The Mustang III is$259.99 with free shipping at nstuffmusic if your not out of the country. Use this COUPON CODE: 33633740 at check out to get that price online.

  • How does an ibanez iceman sound on it?... I have the amp but im getting a iceman and I want to know if it sounds good

  • @SOAD390 Should sound great.

  • Sure..it would be over kill, but it will handle multi-effects well!

  • Question: could you use a multi-effects pedal on the mustang III? Like the RP500?

  • Question: Fender Mustang or Marshall MG50 and 102FX series?

  • @Trakstar84 I personally like the Fender Mustang amp much more.

  • @Trakstar84 nstuff is right on, even though I bought the 40 watt Vox, the Mustang is WAY better sounding than the Marshall MG. I just played both again today.

If you want ONLY a Marshall sound, the MG may be the choice, if you wqant great tones, go for the Mustang.

I am looking at the 150 watt Mustang because the 120watt Vox does not have the effects loop.

  • So, the only diference between them is the power right?

  • @DisposableHeros423 The Mustang III COUPON CODE: 33633740 will make it $259.99 with free shipping.

  • Fender Mustang Kicks !!! Its Loud &Great Sounding LIVE !!!! I use The Mustang V Head With a 4x12 Marshall Cab- Its a BEAST LIVE- Check out my covers using The MUSTANG- Its The Real DEAL !!!!!!

  • Personally, I think the Mustang range does a great job of emulating classic Fender Amp sounds (not an easy thing to do), but doesn't come close to producing an authentic Marshall sound. The first amp manufacturer to do that will get my money!

  • @yakiburger Marshall JMD?? ;)

  • can u gig with the Mustang 3?

  • @musicman243 Yes. $259.99 at nstuffmusic with coupon code.

  • @musicman243 no

  • @jw2113 why?

  • Hi. I am thinking about buying Fender Mustang amp, but I'm torn between IV and V + 412 cab - which one is better for occasional smaller gigs and jam sessions?

Also how safe is the nstuffmusic site for buying things? I have bought my guitar in thomann online music shop and was very positively impressed by their good services and safeness of buying there - is that also the case with nstuffmusic shop or do I risk getting scammed if I buy stuff there? Oh and is the shipping free in Europe as well?

  • @Neimenljivi Hello I would go with the Mustng IV it's easy to carry around and definitely has enough power. Since you are out of the country we only except bank transfer as payment so we would do the transactio not online. Since you are out of the country we do not offer free shipping. We have been a family owned buisness for 43 years we can assure you that we are safe and have great service.

  • what is doing the UTIL button???

  • does it come with all of those ?

  • Dis is crap----digital crap !! piss on this

  • @hacker54189 Tubes are expensive!

  • Can anyone tell me what this amp's hi-gain side is comparable to? As much or more than the Supersonic, 5150, Blackstar? The cleans sound fantastic but those gain samples sounded "off" maybe thin sounding. Any help would be appreciated

  • @JDizzy6606 It's a modeling amp so it has all kinds of gain settings from blues to metal.

  • whats that jazzy tune at 3:47? or is that just improv? very nice song and demo either way

  • Killer amp. I now want a Fender amp. Would the Mustang III be good for small gigs? And does it also still have the model pre-sets and the same ones? The last riff reminded me of Killswitch Engage their song My Curse.

  • Do you think the mustang 5 would be too loud for using in an attic with a band?

  • @theARMYOFMETAL9 No that's what is so nice about the modeling amps the sound good at lower volumes and higher volumes. The Mustang Iv is $454.99 with coupon code at nstuffmusic.

  • you already responded once about useing a mustang 3 over a mustang 2 to play over the drummer. but you didnt mention the mustang 4. Would you thin the mustang 3 or 4 would be better for fairly sized house parties and possible backyard parties

  • @surpluscow Both would work the Mustang 4 would sound fuller because of the extra 50 watts and extra 12" speaker.

  • does it go to 11 ??

  • i would not recommend spending the money on the 4 and 5, the valve models of amplifiers are WAYYY better, and an amp header can always add that extra shit in. but a small mustang would be acceptable because the volume issue for home play is crucial, but it is negligible to me. the valves are better imo

  • do you thin the mustang three would be loud enough to play at a house party in a medium sized house to cover mabye 2 or 3 fairly sized rooms. and cut through a fairly loud drummer. i play light to heavy rock and a little metal. should i go for the mustang 3 or the mustang 4. im tight on money so i am hoping mustang 3 will work

  • @surpluscow The Mustang 3 $259.99 at nstuffmusic with coupon code is 100 watts it would definitely be loud enough for a house party. The Mustang 2 $189.99 with coupon code I would not recommend if you have a drummer it's not loud enough.

  • how do i use the fx loop

  • fender distortion still lacking something..

  • @TheTiagoSerrano it lacks that valve tone that makes a fender a fender

  • @TheTiagoSerrano no not at all, its one of the best solid state amps ive ever played with the sound is out real

  • Think the Mustang 4 wouldn't be too loud for home use?

  • @SundanceHAJ It's more than you need for home but the nice thing about solid state amps is that they play at lower volumes well. The Mustang 4 will sound fuller because of the 2 12" speakers.

  • @SundanceHAJ i have my Mustang 4 and home :b but when i wanna have fucking fun i put the amp on the street #.#

  • i have the mustang I amp and i realy like it. it haves 24 presets and with a computer you can have infinite presets. mustang I haves 20 W and its loud for a home.

  • really good quality demo, does the mustang 150watt head come with all these same features?? Thanks

  • @chickabuka Yes.

  • the ping pong delay just made me buy that amp

  • when you say the Mustang IV has stereo is that in the mods or a function of the amp itself?
