  • Re mikez2. Did you go to Kollidge? sjfmeretsh

  • Hey now let's be fair. I'm an atheist, but you don't have to be religious to find the music beautiful. I'll never judge anyone else for their beliefs and i'll take it as a kindness if that could be returned

  • @mickgotstyle What's not to disagree with? More of an Agnostic myself, but as for the music, the hairs on the back of my neck never lie

  • Awesome JMJ77 all the way love u dad aka J.C

  • Este video es hermoso, que voces para tan llenas de espiritualidad, suaves, que invitan a la meditacion. Gracias Senor por darles este don, para alabarte y bendecirte. AMEN Y AMEN!!

  • I used to be a gregorian chanter like them, until I took an arrow to the knee

  • @mikez2

    No, no, no.

    No.

  • @mikez2 it's the arrow to the head you have to be careful of ;)

  • @mikez2 Yes, yes, yes.

    Yes.

  • @mikez2 Man i been getting tired of hearing those "Arrow to the knee" jokes on youtube but I don't know why yours made me laugh. Probably good timing.

  • Quanto dovremmo desiderare un spirito così intenso per cantare anche noi ogni giorno!!!

  • I don't see atheist as different. Why not love others not because you need to, for the sake of being loved? Why not love others just for the sake of loving? God gave us the freewill to decide things. Why not use it? as long as you can't hurt anyone. =) Spread the love!

  • it amazes me how often i see athiests comment positively on how beautiful the old church music is(seriously, look through the comments on similar videos)while also adding how non-religious they are.im not a preachy or churchy person, but i feel compelled to say that you dont have to be religious to be spiritual.im a STRONG christian, but i havent been to church in 5 years because of how trivial the church environment has become.just wanted to ask that an open mind be kept if God speaks to you.

  • yeah im about as non-religious as they come but i find this very relaxing.

  • @myamiheet1 Who cares?

  • I am an atheist and I don't understand Latin but I enjoy this relaxing and powerful music?

  • @zonkedthug me too

  • Who can refuse a Heart so loving, who gave His life for us, so that we may have eternal life!

  • Racist depiction of Jesus at 3:55.

  • The Top 2 comments enjoy propriety and refer to themselves as Mr. :D

  • Top 2 comments rule

  • All right atheists we get it your atheist and like church music its really not ground breaking

  • @rollerroll505 It's annoying as fuck. I hate how when I watch a video like this it's "I'm an atheist but I love this" or on a Marilyn Manson video "I'm a Christian but I love this". People need to shut the fuck up and realize that no one cares. No one.

  • @rollerroll505

I'm Agnostic and i love Monastery music lol

  • @rollerroll505 im an atheist and i like this music

  • @myamiheet1 I'm a Christian and I think atheists are irrational.

Q.E.D. Does that seal the video topic for you?

  • @rollerroll505 Damn, shit's the same everywhere - I always see this sort of stuff on death metal videos but its usually "Hey I'm a Christian and listen to death metal, aint I the specialist?!". Its really annoying, nobody cares.

  • @rollerroll505 Haha too true.

  • This is proper religious music. As an atheist I can appreciate this beauty, however I cannot tolerate the crappy Christian rock and pop groups of today. Total crap compared to this. It shames religious music.

  • Tolerant atheist here...Gregorian chant is quite awesome

  • i love the music but i dont know what to make of religion i believe that the bible and science intertwine what do you guys think

  • this is so peaceful. Gregorian chant has been around for centuries, so how come people like little wayne are more popular

  • this is so peacful.. thak you for uploading.. it is relaxing

  • I'm also wondering if other folks here know that the Gregorian Chants were originally created with specific notes and tones that have a healing affect on each of the energy centers of our bodies. Some call them Chakras. I've always listened to them because it helps restore me. Love to all...and thanks again.

  • Thank you. This is wonderful. I've been searching for this all night. :)

  • is this lil wayne or what

  • religious or not, you gotta like this (i am roman-chatolic) PEACE :)

  • I am a Roman Catholic and I have always loved the chants, remember the nuns in high school at morning prayers...I think it doesn't matter what religion you follow there is something about these Gregorian chants etc that stirs something in people. My mum when she was at school in Holland they use to sing similar in latin which is beautiful in it's own way too... I have added this to my playlist too.. :)

  • @Rao665 are you stupid? noting is bullshit if you love it or not some people like it some people don't pleas dont say such stupid things a bout others there opinion if you like or not every music are music if u like it or not.

  • Great, we can "see and reach" God with these chants. I am Greek-Melkite Catholic and love this chants too. I always pray with them as background, for the night prayer.

  • Lindo . já assisti os beneditinos do Mosteiro de São Bento do Rio numa missa toda celebrada com canto gregoriano.

  • Beautiful, spiritual and emotional regardless of what else you believe in:)

  • I'm Muslim but I love this! It's so tranquil and enchanting.

God bless all my Catholic brothers (and sisters!) ;D

  • @MrNuney we need more people like you in this world :)

  • @MrNuney "Blessed are the peace makers" said Jesus. Peace to you and yours. Amen!

  • @MrNuney Why is the sister in brackets, we are all equal my friend.

  • @MrNuney God bless you too My muslim brother in faith

  • @MrDavidcf "muslim brother in faith"??

Althought your intentions are good, have you read the Qu'ran ? May I suggest Sura 9.30? It might give you a good idea of what muslims (and Allah) think about Christians...

  • @Gazdo01 i looked it up.... i don't see how that would be very upsetting to a christian. All it said was "And the jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: the Messiah is the son of Allah". Which as far as i know seems to be fairly accurate.

  • @warewolf435 Right... It is true that the Christians call Jesus the "Son of God". But you've only read the first part of the passage... Now read the end of it: "That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who DISBELIEVED [before them]. May Allah DESTROY THEM; how are they deluded?"

Not only are we WRONG (deluded) but their wish is for Allah to destroy us (some translation say EXTERMINATE them).

  • @MrNuney .

Peace be with you too. God Bless.

  • @MrNuney

May we hold hands as monotheistic brothers and sisters one day instead of fighting. God bless.

  • @MrNuney Religion has nothing to do with it bro (Besides its history lol) just enjoy music for what it is and put everything else aside.

  • @LiveSimpIy

This music is made to glorify God

  • @MrNuney God bless you as well my friend. God loves us all equally. :)

  • @MrNuney I'm Roman-Catholic and Jewish. God Bless You Brother!

    P.S I don't eat pork! :D

  • @Masterlink981 how can you be roman catholic and jewish at the same time?!

  • @moushahed2 Well, it's easy man. I just celebrate Hannukah and Christmas, Passover and Easter, Rosh Hasshana and New Year's... You get the idea right? I also don't eat pork. I keep kosher. But STILL have faith in Jesus as Son of God and Messiah.

  • @Masterlink981 i got the idea.. but what you said, i look to it as a contradiction. You celebrate christian holidays, so you believe in Jesus as son of God and you believe in his Resurrection. When you celebrate Jewish holidays ,you are denying what you believe about Jesus, because jews don't believe in Jesus as Messiah and all what he have done! As 4 the pork issue, i will just tell you this sentence from Act 10: "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean"

  • @moushahed2 Ah when I meant I still have faith in Jesus that also means showing it on the Jewish holidays. I don't celebrate Yom Kippur, I have Confession. I eat Chinese Pork, because it isn't as rich and won't give me a stomach ache. If this makes it any easier for you I'm a Hebrew Catholic. I just honor Jewish traditions, but believe in Jesus Christ as Son of God, Messiah, Lord, and Savior. Believe me before I pray the Hannukah prayers I make the Sign of the Cross....

  • @Masterlink981 Hebrew catholic.. that's new for me, i google it 2 know more about it :p... i think i understand what u mean.. u r a catholic christian with a Jewish background ( ur ancestries where Jews) . and about the pork meat, i thought u don't eat it because u consider it sinful or impure.

  • @moushahed2 yeah..

  • @moushahed2 Yes yes I'm aware of the sentence from Act 10. But I eat meat and cheese and shrimp for crying out loud. I just don't like eating pork, unless it's Chinese.... because every other makes me VERY sick.

  • @MrNuney Blessings to you too brother

  • @MrNuney We need more people like you in this world !

  • @MrNuney i wonder if an Imam has thought about combing an Adan with a Gregorian Chant

  • @MrNuney LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

  • @MrNuney Spread the love our brother!

  • Los benedictinos de Silos son los mejores con los cantos gregorianos...

    Excelso.

  • It's beautiful because I can't understand the ridiculous lyrics.

  • i don't know if it's the reverberations in the vocals or the sheer history associated with these types of chants/hymns that make me feel really small and humbled...

god feels real when they sing...

    <3

  • @ilikeitidont yep, that's the point. that's why they make the cathedrals (and malls for that matter) real high, so that you feel small and powerless

  • That was awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • I was looking for this but i had no idea what it was called until someone told me what Gregorian chants were

  • @jcdenton100

the very same happened to me! i kept on searching for chapel music and then one fine i stumble on to this!

    ahh... peace...

    ^_^

  • @ilikeitidont yep i was searching mens chorus music and so i gave up about a few years ago and here i am because of a friend.

  • I found many people in this conversation doubting religion and doubting the very foundations of Christianity. To the believers I would say you are gifted to have strong and utter faith. To the doubters - if not for God, think of religion for its values - it teaches all the precious human qualities we need to possess.

I am a believer and enjoyed the chants.

  • @nikolaidanev I believe that the Big Bang theory provides evidence for a supernatural creator.

  • @nikolaidanev Does that mean you can't have the qualities that we need to possess without being religious?

  • @boreduser99 well, in order to obtain freedom you must be in perfect union with Him. In order to be whole with God you have to be in good standing with Holy Mother Church

  • @boreduser99 being catholic from birth doesn't hurt thank you, jesus, mary, joseph, holy spirit and father in heaven. you see, we have a whole family looking after us. thank you, father

  • @boreduser99 of course it does not, but it is the purest source of values that is well related to almost everything we do. I am not saying you must be religious to be a good man, what I say is that religion can make you a good man and it can actually teach you values long before life can do so!

  • Just peaceful, delighting!

  • Beautiful.

  • Music from heaven or to heaven

  • LONG LIVE CHRISTENDOM !!!

  • @protestsong1 We wish you peace and grace.

  • One of the more enjoyable classes at St Augustine's was choir...I was particularly fond of the drama of the Gregorian Chant. This brings me back. I am still lifted by this music and incense, both are reminiscent of childhood faith and innocence.

  • Welcher Idiot klickt denn hier auf gefällt mir nicht

  • GLORIA A DIOS¡¡¡ SIENTO MUCHA PAZ CON ESTA MUSICA GOD BLESS YOU¡¡¡

  • I'm an atheist but i still like this.

  • @Sangetsuish Same here, sounds fucking amazing.

  • @Sangetsuish Agreed, the most beautiful music I've ever heard was in a French Catholic church, it was so moving I wanted to convert.

  • @obiwanda

Too bad girls think you're nerdy if you listen to stuff like this... and if they dont think so, they're prolly hard-religous and stuff like that... D:

  • @Sangetsuish That's strange that you wouldn't respect the milieu that this music developed in? Perhaps the beautiful things that were developed by people who believe/d in God is enough to make It/Him Real. Atheists take things too literally.

  • @lallimj I do respect it. I cant prove religion wrong, but you cant prove it right. also define god.

  • @Sangetsuish My God is the beginning and the ending, he is the I am.

  • @happyowl92 So the sun is your god? thanks to the sun, we had a beggining. Thanks to the sun, we will come to an end. Because of the sun, you still exist today.

    you have to define more.

  • @Sangetsuish depends on which god(s) you are referring to? for the christian one: perfect goodness, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, eternal and necessary existence.

  • @synal I'm referring to the one he were talking about.

  • Very peaceful and relaxing, you can't beat a bit of Gregorian chant!.

  • God bless you all and God bless Christianity.

  • I love Gregorian chants! Jesus is Lord!

  • I love Gregorian chants so much.

  • This music is amazing, and I'm jewish. It's just awesome, and I appreciate it's uniquely beautiful sound.

  • @Sain240 How nice!

  • @assasincomedy said; "You are utterly deceived, and I will pray that the Light of Christ will set you free."

amy2x says; "Are you going to pray that to Mary? Please pray directly to Jesus. Mary is a false goddess created by Satan. No one prays to Mary in Heaven. That is forbidden by God. Prayers to Mary go to Satan. Catholicism is Satanism. Catholics are not Christians!"

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

  • This music is a blessing. So peaceful.

Pope St. Gregory, pray for us.

  • I'm a Lutheran, and I love this music. It has a cathartic effect that is quite nice.

  • i appreciate this music but if god does exist then he would be way beyond the understanding of people or any church

  • @l3054 He may be beyond our understanding, but Gods teachings are clear, the best we can do is follow them so that one day, after our death, we may understand.

  • @Schism704 none of here can say for sure and none of us can prove that he does or doesnt exist all we have is theorys its for each person to find out themselves when they die im not trying to insult any religous people but that just shows you cant judge people with different beliefs cause you dont know any more than they do

  • @Schism704 his teachings arent clear because god himself hasnt come down and told us alls we have is books some people made thousands of years ago to go by so to say one religion is the one true way is ignorance

  • @l3054 Considering the remarkable detail in which they New testament has been recorded, and the fact that catholics put together the bible in the first place you cannot really say that.

  • @Schism704 but people wrote it we cant say for sure thats what god wants noone does

  • @l3054 but multiple people, from many parts of Europe and the Middle East wrote the same thing

  • @Schism704 you know what is funny about the bible, over 14 books were written for it, but only 4 were accepted, Mathew, mark, Luke and john. who are you to say there is great detail, when in actual fact, we know nothing, because the bible only tells of 4 books, not 14 +. if there was more books we would understand more, but no, so don't be so skeptical to what 13054 says, when he is actually correct, the message isn't fully clear.

  • @Schism704 yea its like a tree of religion with different branches hinduism and buddhism are similar in that respect you can see where different cultures change and add to religions most people forget even before judaism there was zoroastrianism

  • @Schism704 if youre reffering to the old testament and quran they are similar but not the same theyre all abrahamic religion of course theyre similar im not attacking any religious peoples views or anything i say this to athiests as well people have too much pride or conviction in their beleifs and the begin to only see things from one point of view they never even consider the idea they might be wrong

  • "I am a priest who for over ten years collaborated in a work that became a notable harm to the Catholic Faith.

I wish now to Apologize before God and the Church and to Renounce decisively my personal sharing in that damaging project.

I am speaking of translating the new Post-Vatican II Latin liturgy into the English language, when I was a member of the Advisory Board of the (I.C.E.L.)."

It waters down the doctrine that the Eucharist is a true Sacrifice."

    -Fr Somerville, Jan 19, 2005.

  • To be honest, I can't stand mainstream Christian music. I could never put my finger on why, but for some reason it always rubbed me the wrong way. This, however, is absolutely beautiful. When I listen to chants like this, I feel nothing but peace.

  • humans, do not be petty... get past the reptile/monkey mind and enter into TRANSCENDENCE.

  • more Gregorian chants on my channel playlist...PAX

  • This makes me even more Proud to be Catholic.

  • @ProudtobeCatholic100 ...Beware of Pride... Peace be with you.

  • No offence taken little one. For your mother - " I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend with my life your right to say it." Ben Franklin

  • was the 3000 that pressed like on this video... comon, there gotta be more ppl that like this. i will spred this through out the web!

  • Maybe because us, christian believers, are not extremists, and if we complain or dislike something about a parody or a joke regarding our beliefs , we should do it in a different manner , i mean we are not gonna harm anyone just because they make jokes about our faith. On the other hand, if you mock Islam lets say, you expose yourself to be killed , Chistianity does not teach you that at all.. that is my humble opinion. Peace.

  • TCFA: Taxa de Controle e Fiscalização Ambiental

  • Okay I don't want to start a fight on freaking youtube here but I have to say. Why is it everyone who is not christian and sometimes even christian as well, find it reasonable to condemn christians its past and past leadership, or to make jokes about it. Then tell me why is it that other religions like Islam and what not find it wrong for christians or non christians to joke about them? No one seems to want to answer me on that one because frankly its a clear double standard.

  • Magnificient choir music...great work...long live christian Europe!!!

  • Why in the world are you nonbelievers listening to it then?

  • @jacklowprock Perhaps God can still speak to the soul of non-believers in this way. These chants have a way of mesmerizing the soul. Blessings to all who will have them, and peace to those who will not.

  • @DrKerryPrater the religious arguments on this video are pathetic. There are plenty of videos actually debating the topic which you can comment on but this video should be about enjoying the beautiful music. I'm an atheist but I find this type of music beautiful and relaxing.

  • @DrKerryPrater well thx i understand completely... the comment you responded to was writen by my mom cause i forget to logg out. God bless you

  • Quid pulchrum aeternum.
