I remember Stern got interviewed by Conan sometime around 2000, and Conan called Stern out for being such a dick and joking about how doomed Conan was right when he was starting out. It was pretty obviously a comedy bit though, and a funny one, although one of the meanest I've ever seen.

Did Stern really try and bash Conan O'Brien in '96? O'Brien had been on for 3 years by this point, and was by that time begun to get steady good reviews, decent viewership, and was pretty much guaranteed to be around for a while...Sometimes I don't think Stern has any idea what he's talking about, he just likes to make it sound like he does.
