@KingDecahedron Thats true, i have heard of several people getting bad cameras, the most common i think is color issues... However if the only problem is that the image is blurry then what you need to do is just open the cam and adjusting focus by turning the lens... :-)

Both cameras are OUT of time now. In Year 2010 that was maybe OK but now look for 808 HD #11 Key Cam. And watch: GumCam is similar 808 HD #11. Only that GunCam is a lot expensive ;)

@2009jimmy2009 That would not be a good idea, the battery would run out within an hour or so, however now there are a new model that have a sound activation feature, that will start record when it hear sound, a shower turning on etc. Also you do not want to put it to close to the shower, it is not very water resistant. I would recommend that you get a gopro hd hero, a little bit more expensive but have better video quality and also comes with a waterproof housing, might be a bit harder to hide..

@kabuky1 They do not turn of the light when full. I guess an hour would be enough, but i usually keep it connected over night...

got one of these cameras last week I plug it into the usb port and windows vista states unknown devise no matter what I do it wont play on the screen is there a driver for this and where do I get one for free ,,you buy camera $35.00 I thought it would have been preloaded with driver so now its a waste of dollars

@kaiapoi55 They do not require a driver, they are standard "usb mass storage device". Try another usb cable, had the same issue with a broken usb cable..

Interesting that 640x480 camera had better white-balance. The other camera make the florescent-lit warehouse very yellow. Also, the video from the 640 model has way less jumpy-ness.

I actually prefer the 640 by 480 one in this video. Although the quality may be a bit worse and the colors a bit off, it definetly looks alot smoother and not choppy.

nice comparison buddy. i just bought a "720x480" cam from ebay,but the pic quality is real bad !! it seems it is interpolated heavily. the color of the light is also orange and not blue, as u told it shd b. have i been ripped off?

Bra jämförelse! Dock undrar jag om man laddar kameran med USB:n som man får med den nya 808:an (72=*480)? Jag har nämligen köpt den på Ebay idag och i villkoren står det att USB medföljer, dock ingen laddare. Hur kan det komma sig? Vad jag har hört så är USB:n sjävla laddaren också. Hur ligger det till egentligen?

Is there any way to tell if I have a poorly made knockoff version of the one you have?

Also, do you think this will work okay, if I'm recording a Theater Play on Stage from the front row? My wife gets very shy when I point a camera at her while she is acting. Or do you think the lighting will be too dark?

@JunkieHeretic It depends on how light it is on the stage, these cameras have very small lenses and require a well lit up place to take good video.. The best way to tell if it is a different version i think is to look at the video because all of them looks the same. There might also be new versions out now that are better, i do not know.. It's like a lottery when you buy them :-) but at least they aren't very expensive

The video is actually 640*480 image stretched to 720x480. The camera requires a lot of light to get decent image. The video image is decent under ideal light conditions.

The video is compressed in MJPEG, which is the same most webcam use.

For a small and cheap device it's quite good actually.

@RealStuntDriver I use a command line tool named ffmpeg for all my video convertions, i use linux but i think there is a windows port of it also. There is a free program, VirtualDub for windows, that is the best video converter for windows i think. But the first thing, make shore that you have a mjpeg codec installed on the computer, so it is not because of that adobe complains..

Det är röd lins på den jag har, har beställt en till få se i fall det blir samma färg igen. För det priset behöver man inte va rädd om dem heller, så det kan bli roligare filmer och man kan ha flera kameror på samma plan. Fast har testat att använda två kameror för att filma i 3d fast det verkar inte funka så bra. De blir inte helt syncade med varandra. (två 720x480 kameror va det jag testa med)

What i have heard is that the 1280x960 cams are fake, they only have a 640x480 sensor and interpolate (resizes) the image to 1280x960. I think the 720x480 is the best at this point.
