in the Fire Department of Torhout(Belgium) has crashed also a fire truck it was a mercedes atego a new truck who crashed on the highway!!! good filmed :)
Yea the driver went a bit too fast through that curve. I hope he didn't get hurt. Too bad the old Scania from ca 1990, were so damaged. But maybe they can replace the cab, hammer out the tank, and continue using it. The wreckerguy with his old Scania 76 from late 60's did a great job. Interesting film, thanks for sharing.

This driver is an example of a much too common fire house ASS! SPEED KILLS! If you
disagree, then Google: Guide to Model Policies and Procedures for Emergency Vehicle Safety ...then list the ways you feel your training and experience [IGNORANCE] supersedes these directives written to prevent RISK of INJURY and DEATH! What BENEFIT is apparatus and personnel that NEVER ARRIVE!?!
I live in estonia and it was on the news. The Driver had been working a long time on the job already. The problem was that the tank was half-empty, so the water greated a high gravity and combined with excess speed in the corner causes this stuff.
its a lot easier to flip a firetruck than people think because of the water...the water tanks usually hold 500-1000 gallons and even though the tanks have baffles that water still sloshes around and that much water can really effect how a truck handles
Hea video... nagu nägid, visati mind koos kõikide videodega jne tubest välja ehk kustutati terve kasutaja..., nii et sumoiiz pole enam olemas :) Kitupunne jätkub kõikjale, isegi tasuta kohtadesse, nagu näha :/
looks like they put the wheels on upside down?? but any way it is an engeneering marvel im sure,it dosent seem to move very fast for a fire truck though???
Um correct, but When we took delivery of our new rescue pumper, and I was driving it back from the dealer, it went up to 67mph, now mind you I did that just to see what it would do, and there was clear highway infront, behind, around me. Not fast no but 67 mph in a 40k plus truck is still preety fast. and i would never do that going to a call even on the highway.
very lucky guys n gals, could of been worse. take it easy out there people, i've never actually seen a fire truck on its roof before!! good video, btw i'm a firefighter in Australia.
amazing to see. My son will find it interesting. He and his wife are in a Colorado fire/rescue dept in the mountains. Lucky the engine did not burst into flames.

how the fuck?! well, thats half a mil down the drain. poor driver though, anyone know how this happend?
mrrocker1993 2 years ago
@mrrocker:
I've known it to happen because of the shifting liquid load.
The "slosh" effect can nearly knock a truck over. You need to time your shifting and turning with the roll/slosh of the cargo.
Some truckers who haul hanging beef have similar problems cuz the load is constantly shifting while you drive.
I've seen these water tankers upside down a few times, although the drivers had far less experience than a professional fire fighter.

its not so hard though. Tha truck is full of water and if the tank is not toped up, than its very dangerous.

That truck looks more like a tanker, i would guess 3000 to 4000 gallons
xgromx 4 years ago
yea...they hold a lot more than that, the tanker at my department holds 2500 and the tanker in the town south of me holds 3500

Fire trucks cannot actually go fast, they just seem that way because you are never moving when they pass, you are stationary.

Yes, they were hurry to fire. But other fire trucks reached the fire.
I was taking some photos of the truck, some of them were published in newspapers.
