  • ...And then Disney just had to go make a sequel. </3

  • @superasianspy

and completely have her go off with some other guy..

  • @SameshitdifdayFails Well they messed it up from the start I guess because the sequal annoyingly holds more truth in it, she was far too young to be with John Smith and they were never romantically involved, she did indeed marry John Rolfe but yes! They should have left the first movie altering her history and left it at that, not try to go back on themselves and make it truer! pffft what a total mess they made, not to mention this film's unbelievable and 2nd is crap!

  • Miko's face is priceless at 3:11

  • its funny,, in real life pocahontas and john were never together, she was 12 and he was 28 when they met

  • This meeting scene was the most epic and romantic of all the meeting scenes in Disney animated films :P

  • 1:01-1:04 best pic ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not a single word was said, that's what makes this "meet" so beautiful <3

  • I always thought of this scene, this moment (0:32 to 1:33) as the scene that let you know you are in for a good movie, that you didn't waste your money on this movie, you didn't waste your time watching this movie, and I always thought that the ending of Pocahontas was the scene that let you know you just saw the most beautiful Disney movie ever made, I mean especially the music too.

Pocahontas has the best Disney Soundtrack too, and this video and the ending is why.

  • the iconic scene!!!!! it's so good.

  • my fav scene, i can watch this scene over n over again haha, but omg the MUSIC for this mysterious beautiful MOMENT especially the way he first looks at her, hes just totally love strucked n so is she..*sighs* im still waiting for my John Smith :D

  • 0:36- BEST DISNEY FIRST MEETING

  • So he lit the gun's fuse thingy and then jumped through the waterfall. Good thing it was just Pocahontas :B

I love this movie so much

  • @YenTwiHeart As far as most people go, the sequel never happend. Disney I believe now considers it non-canon to. John Smith is still Pocahontas' boyfriend.

  • Pocahontas had the best love story, the best kisses, best music and best ending.

  • im so fuckin in love with this movie ♥

  • @18elana yes but watch the second movie, she dumped him, and goes with another man

  • @lovemaria15 yes i've seen it. i like to pretend it doesn't exist

  • @18elana I do the same !

  • @lovemaria15 Forget the 2nd movie. For most people, it never happend. I believe Disney considers it non-canon now to.

  • Being hot saved your life there, Pocahontas. And sweet jesus the music is gorgeous <3

  • this particular scene always gave me chills....0_0

  • This is so romantic! I love this, makes me wish I had a man like that<3 :')))

  • I love this scene :) okay so if anybody wouldn't mind, could you check out a video i made of pocahontas and john smith? I just made it! Warning, it is the first video i've edited on windows movie maker so don't be too harsh :) i'll leave a video response also! Thank you :)

  • wow just realised that john smith is mel gibsons voice

  • When I was little I had long black hair and I have kind of more dark skin, I would always reenact this scene, its still my favorite!!

  • It's almost like...when he put down his gun, it was the moment where he abandoned his discrimination, and sought to understand the strange, but beautiful woman before him. Very symbolic.

  • BEST FIRST MEETING EVER :'))))

  • Lock eyes, from across the river! And then he jizzed, in, his pants!

  • He reminds me of Owen Wilson ! :)

  • ...Is anyone else expecting the guy calling himself "John Smith" to whip out a blank piece of paper and a pair of glasses and say "Allons-y?"

  • Mary Sue meets Gary Stu! Yay! :D

sorry... don't hate me for saying that... just had to :)

  • I just absolutely adore the way Pocahontas's hair is animated <3

  • Ya see, this is what I love about Disney movies: I learn so much stuff from 'em. Here all this time, I thought Pocahontas was a 12 year old American indian girl, when the Jamestown colony got there. Now I know that she was a fully-grown Cambodian-looking woman, who fell in love with an immaculately groomed white explorer.

No... But I still love this movie.

  • A beautiful scene. But I hate John's accent. He's an Englishman, dammit...

  • John's thinking "How come my hair isn't blowing in the wind like hers?"

  • This is absolutely the most beautiful "love at first sight" scene in Disney history. I always get shivers! I don't care how old I get, this kind of Disney I grew up with as a kid will never be old to me.

  • The power of leaves blowing around your face can make you automatically bilingual...duh.

  • who the hell would trade John Smith for John Rolfe?

  • can't you just see the drool on his face when he sees her? ;)

  • BEST SCENE EVER!

The music and her face all so beuatiful and mysterious!

  • @ArtemisThorn I agree. This is probably the most beautiful introduction in Disney history. The scene where the mist clears and he sees her is just breathtaking!!

  • @ArtemisThorn I so agree! one of my all time favorite movie scenes, even if it is from a cartoon.

  • She is soo gorgeous!!

  • Lol i bet he's didn't shoot cuz he remembered he'd just jumped through a waterfallnd if he'd fired the gun would have blown up in his face. Wet gunpowder!

  • @lesyllphide lol

  • 0:57 That's the face of a man in love at first sight!

  • Ohhhh this is my favourite scene, i love it <3

  • The stuff in the history books are LIES. This is actually how they were!

  • I really like the way they made it so her hair blows in the wind as she looks at him. It's so beautiful.

  • such beautiful music!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't John Smith have an English accent...........

  • @CApoppy752 he's a rogue englishman. hence anything is possible.

  • i wish it was that easy for ME to learn a new language.....

  • @TheRandomlass i kinda feel like they didnt have to do it that way. i could've done it better.... >.>

  • He just jumped through a waterfall... Even if he wanted to shoot her, wouldn't his gun not work anymore?

  • @Jessika80 you got that right lol the powder would be wet so yea you got a point

  • ahahahahhha. i wish i could listen to my heart and speak another language.

  • @tigerswell lol, I was thinking the same thing. I wish it were that easy. Even when men & women speak the same language it's like we're not.

  • sexiest moment in disney history: pocahontas rising out of the mist!

  • @cassiedarlingalways I'm more for the scene where they kiss while John is being held captive and his arms are tied behind his back :D I learned what lust was through that scene at the tender age of 4. But that may just be the sadist in me that loves that scene. But yes this scene is extremely sexy too.

  • Her presence is just so powerful. She reacts from a terrifying encounter by merely standing up with such calm poise and looking at him without fear.

  • Why can't I learn how to speak another language by just "listening with my heart"? So much time saved...

  • OMG! There's something so powerful and moving about this scene!!

  • who's the voice of john smith sounds familar??? wait it not who im think of is it SUGARTITS!!!

  • Does anyone actually like the second movie? I felt like they messed it all up -- how Pocahontas didn't even MARRY John Smith instead some otha man! That movie is just MESSED UP! I will always love the first one, though :)

  • @MultiArtist13 Both movies are based on the history of it, and in history Pocahontas ends up with John Rolfe, NOT John Smith...but still, John Smith shuldve married her, this movie was EPIC

  • @Gemini114 Well...yeah, true. But I still enjoy the first movie better. :)

  • @Gemini114 ya, but in real life Pocahontas is 12 and john smith is like 30 something

  • To everyone commenting on the fact that she was about 12 years old when they met... John Smith also wasn't aryan, he was an ugly older man with a large beard, there were no musical numbers or talking trees, pocahontas and john smith never met before she saved him, she couldn't speak english until she learned much later in her life, the two were never in love and so on... it's a children's movie, not a documentary, just try and enjoy how beautiful this scene is, k thanks :) <3

  • it was my favorite movie when I was a child !

And I always wanted her hair :$

And today I want her hait , too ! :D

  • in real life she was 12 when she met him so Disney is perverted...

  • How i envy her hair

  • Most beautiful meeting in a movie <3

I wish this is how i meet my husband too ,where the wind brings us together and an old Willow is singing in the background lol

  • Who knew a sparked gun could go through a waterfall without it getting put out?

  • Comment removed

  • I always get chills at this part. This is the most beautiful 'love at first sight' moment... :')

  • haha, ya she looks 12 years old.

  • @saral123456789

In the real story, that actually happened, she was 13..

  • @IreneMarie94 lol, sure, when they met she learned english by believing and leaves started to spin around her. and all i said was she was very young when they first met and in the movie, she looks a lot older.

  • Thank God he didn't pull that trigger.

  • It;s not the same watching this knowing Mel Gibson voices John Smith, its just weird now

  • ya i tried to listen with my heart in spanish class and it didnt work

  • @shulternuctin Doesn't work in French or German either....Dammit.

  • @shulternuctin damnit disney, giving false hope (*this is SARCASM*)

  • How funny John SMith is supposed to be English but has an american accent...

  • I think I figured out how John Smith and Pocahontas can communicate so easily.

    TARDIS translation, anyone?

  • @Garanta27 The Doctor is taking over Disney now! Yes! Lol.

  • Anyone ever watch that pocahantus movie with the talking boat? o.o

  • This is the best scene of any movie. The beauty of this scene is beyond comprehension. Emotions like this can not be described.

  • One of my favorite Disney scenes.

  • Has anyone else noticed that this is like the only disney classic that does a close up on a girl's face.

  • lol flit and meeko at 3:07 and 3:08

  • I love this film. And the music that starts at 0:38 is Beautiful and Romantic.

  • rofl at 3:08, so cute. (:

  • @CommandoGrey

they show that kind of in Pocahantas 2 :)

  • Thats the hottest Mel Gibson has ever been.

  • @champagnecherrypie Ugh, don't ruin it by reminding me that a crazy racist is doing the voice.

  • I remember how much I wanted to be just like Pocahontas when I was little. This will always be one of my favorite Disney movies. (:

  • I wish I was Native American heritage, nope, only english danggit. >:(

  • this is funny cuz when they met pocahontas was 11 and john smith was 20 or 21

  • love this scene. It's funny John Smith seems so sexy but he is crazyy Mel Gibson haha

  • lol the animals face when she tells him her name! :P x

  • I've had stare downs like that with my crush and his name is John too!

  • This is why John Smith and Pocahontas are the best Disney love story :)

  • I have no idea why they made the second movie. They should have ened it with this one. It's like they make this whole love story, then totally transform it and make it backwards in the next film. Really. They should have ended with this beautiful love story, instead of her betraying Smith and marrying Rolfe.

  • @Starlightkitty12 the only thing is to ignore the sequel is tht simple

  • I love this scene the music is the best

  • what's the score for this scene?

  • my favourite scene in the whole movie!!!

  • I HATE how they made john smith look like a complete asshole in the second movie... :P they were meant to be together!

  • @slandie12 FYI he was an asshole to begin with. that's what made him so charming, in part. XP

  • Why doesnt he have a british accent......

  • @MikeAlessi33 Because he's American? It explains in the film, bro.

  • @Excuseify Americans back then were from England

  • my favorite part.

  • Funny....I never saw Grandmother Willows magical leaves flow around her and Rolfe...

  • @chopchop8916 Thats bc john smith never tried to change pocahontas like john rolfe did. And john smith truely loved her

  • @chopchop8916 that's because Rolfe was actually a girl ¬¬

  • @chopchop8916 ikr, I could've done without the part 2. In fact I try to forget it exists. I spent the entire movie rolling my eyes & mentally telling Rolfe to go the fuck to hell, there's no way he's coming between Pocahontas & John Smith their love is real, even if it is fiction :) They are by far the most beautiful & genuine Disney couple.

  • Screw history. <3 This is beautiful. The music kills me every time.

  • 3:08 sums it up

  • damn.. i wanna be in a disney love story :(

  • 0:40-1:05 looks like love at first sight

  • Shame they made a sequiel u.u

  • In real like she was 12 when she met him and he was 28............

  • does anyone know the song/ost on when Pocohontas and John smith see one another for the first time? 0:39-1:25

  • @LadySakuraHime If I Never Knew You. It's sung in the credits......

  • @LadySakuraHime listen with your heart

  • Exotism

  • am i the only one that noticed that the princess always seems to run from the prince at some point? Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Pocahontas, Ariel...

  • @Kerriangel I dont remember, how ariel run away when see the prince.

  • @Kerriangel They're very shy! XD

  • it's more realistic in English

  • LOVE THIS! It's intense and passionate and filled with all kinds of longing--and yet, not a word is spoken. This is the best hero-meets-heroine in all Disney films!

  • 0:38 to 1:30 I love the Beautiful music playing. :)

  • every time i watch this, i get chills down my back.. so beautiful :)

  • @JendayiFaith Exactly!

  • @JendayiFaith let's just not mention that the sequel ever existed.

  • @1:59 WTF why is she speaking a different language and she was speaking english a few minutes ago weird. Anyway I also liked the romance between John & Pocahuntas I wanted her to run off with him in the end of the movie. Pocahuntas is one selfish princess grrr .

  • @Disney65Fan she was playin stupid lol she did it in hopes that maybe he'd think "she doesn't know english....I should go"

  • @Disney65Fan It's because she really doesn't understand him until you can hear the "listen with your heart, you will understand" song playing and she listens to it and voilaaa...she can suddenly understand him.

  • @Disney65Fan I think its because they speak English for us to understand, but she would be speaking in a different language really, its what it would sound like to us...to John :D Then 'listen with you heart' allows her to understand him :)

  • I also liked this part as you hear this sad piece of music playing @0:38 (If I never knew you). Ahw and the way they look at each other ahw this movie was so cute.

  • @HappyBunny0023 I literally discovered that like 5 seconds ago.. I never realized and I am writing an essay about Pocahontas (the person) and looked up the movie and there it was... Im still in shock

  • Still cannot believe that John Smith was voiced by Mel Gibson.

  • I desperately want some of those magical translator leaves for my Spanish class.

  • 2:39 "Nigga, chill."

    lol

  • CHILD RAPE COZ HES OLD ENOUGH TO BE HER DAD

  • thnx for the responses but i meant the song that starts at 0:39 when they first see eachother. sorry for not specifying it

  • @AlexisMelaniDesigns i think it's "if i never knew you"

  • @AlexisMelaniDesigns It's called Listen With Your Heart II

  • nothing is as magical as disney

  • 0 dislikes ! :)

  • Pocahontas is so beautiful... DAMMIT NO ! I LIKE BOYS ! I LIKE BOYS !

  • @TsukiyoAndAsahi What's wrong with it? I think she's beautiful too

  • SHE AND JOHN SO SOULD HAVE GOT MARRIED

  • @Redskittles101 I thought so, too.

  • When I first saw this movie when I was little, I honestly saw Pocahontas as a goddess. She is so beautiful and peaceful, I just saw her as nature. This has to be my favorite movie.

  • cam somone tell me the name of the sonf on the backround its beautiful i love it

  • @AlexisMelaniDesigns Listen With Your Heart II :]

  • Comment removed

  • So the animals also learned English, but long before.

  • Mico is a BA

  • Of all the disney princesses, Pocahontas possesses not an amiable nor a charming personality. She is very different maybe because she's isolated. But honestly I find her very compelling. Especially during 0:41-0:45, a very spirited girl. Very serene and very very different. I just dont like the part 2, Its not her and john smith that ended, well at least on the real pocahontas story, it was really the other john whom he ended up with. I love pocahontas, very inspiring
