@Flanimal01 As the machine passes it lifts the old rail and sets it outside the trackline, it lifts new rail and moves it in on top of the new ties. So the front of the machine rides on teh old rail and the rear on the new.

It's "efficiency" at it's finest. Who is saving the money on it, well the companies, who are saving the money by not giving it to the labour required. Capitalism is based on the rich and powerful taking advantage of efficiencies in time, labour and energy.
