@PWD65 because in motocross you can only ride 250s 2 stroks against 450 4 strokes. 4 strokes are easier to ride and are more reliable. if the engine displacement was the same, and engine cycle wasnt an issue, then lets say, a 250 4 stroke vs a 250 2 stroke, the 250 2 stroke is as good in performance wise as a 450 4 stroke.

If I was you I would stick with a 2 stroke until you are big enough to ride a 250 or 450 4-stroke. Nothing out there can mess with a 450 except other 450s, not even a 2 stroke 500...

Not trying to be a dick, but I have been riding kx450s with procircuit everything for a few years and just got a 2011 250sx as a fun bike. Needless to say, blown the fuck away with its insane speed and 4stroke like bottom end. Its just ridiculous what they have done with these bikes, and now I put a FMF gnarly on it.
