  • He can actually pray the nasheed quite well without the music.....

  • I am not specificly Muslim so I am not sure of the reason of this but why do so many Muslim songs say something like "caution contains music" ? i think these are beautiful

  • Some people avoid music as it may lead to fitnah. Fitnah is something that leads us away from Allah SWT or in English, God. Therefore out of respect for those who avoid music a warning is given. :)

  • music is haram(forbidden) when the lyrics are filled with sex drugs and a lot of other things and also when it leads you away from prayer and from islam, other wise there's nothing that says its haram.

  • @lenny12p are you sure there's nothing that says its haraam? (Bukhari) "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks, and the USE OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS as lawful...

  • " i am not SPECIFICLY muslim" whats that supposed to mean lol , thats a new one,

  • means i find some truth in all faiths even if i don't claim them as my own

  • @yodamaster00 only muslim on fridays :)

  • We stay away from musical instruments because Mohammad(peace and blessing be upon him) warned us from its danger of drifting away from Allah. If you see all music now no matter what genre, music can move you, like a puppet, juking, belly dancing, moshpit. Turn the music off, none dance, turn it on cover your ears and watch how people react to the music and you will find them dancing around like monkeys on drugs.

  • music isnt haram

  • didn't Arabs invented guitar

  • @chickenfevers They didn't invent the guitar, but they added frets to instruments for better tone and accuracy in playing, They also wrote treatises on music theory and musical practice.

  • I am not a scholar but alhamdu lillah allah has given me a little bit of knowledge. Music used to be part of my life until i realised that it was haram and made no excuse in throwing it all out. If only i had known sooner! We as muslims should make more efforts in learning the truth rather than closing our eyes only because it fits our own purposes! And allah knows best

  • omg why the hell do we always lok at the flaws, listen to the lyrics, and the intention he wrote this with, its all for allah.

  • you tell them sister

mashallah we need more sisters like you

    religious namaazis

  • this is not a nasheed. this is rock. the guitar kills his nasheeds. the other instruments are fine like the drum but the guitar it totally kills his music. I wish he went back to his old style like in his nasheed albums such as a whisper of peace, color of islam and the prophets hand with a couple others. They were way better. Well thats just my opinion

  • Lets just remember that some hadiths arn't authentic, and the paticular one on music is weak in substance. It also depends in how one defines hadiths, alot of scholars, use black and white opinions on this...However Allah knows best, so therefore we shouldn't say it's haram, only Allah can make that judgement, because you never no, by the will of Allah, this song may have converted a non muslim to islam.

  • subhan allah it does not matter whether dawud, yusuf islam or any other munshid uses instruments or not. It is sad to see how people make forbidden things allowed. Rules were made by the almighty and not by man. Our greatest example is the prophet (saw) read the sunnah, what he said about it and them make up whether it is still important to know who does and who does not use them. And allah knows best.

  • he uses a guitar..and its allowed in islam 2 use it..an yusuf islam uses a guitar aswel.

  • then why dnt u sing some nasheeds and spread the word?!!!! get off his and all the rest back...ever wondered hu pioneered the piao? the violin? the muslims did. go and study histroy and yes hadiths on music are mainly weak. keep up the good work brother dawud!!!

  • subhan allah..what a way of responding! masha allah first learn the way to engage in conversation with fellow brothers and sisters who happen to share the same religion which bonds us all! second of all it is from hadith etc. that we get the information regarding the use of instruments. If the isnaad ( the chain of information) is correct than the hadith is not weak.

  • there is more than one opinion on music as there is on other stuff..there are instances like that aswel in hadith like the prophet allowed aisha and her friends eid day..its one thin tellin people NOT to listen to music as the four schools of thought because it is beter not to.its a completely diffrent thing sayin that they are making something which is haram in islam allowed. if that ws the case then the muslims who came b4 us..were they wrong?! have we really got a beter undrstandin dan dem?

  • he shouldnt use instruments man

  • Well its better than nothing..atleast hes trying to send a message across but hes using a guitar for a cause
