  • This is a great track!

  • very good

  • You can tell he was having a hell of night. Awesome feeling.

  • He's one of the best

  • true talent is always overlooked

  • I like this guy, first time iv'e heard him,I read he had addiction problems so I immediatley found him interesting

  • @steptoesaunt What is so interesting about someone elses addiction problems?

  • The "sloppy technique" is his style... its supposed to be dirty... if you want clean mechanical precision this aint your guy. As for the tone- if you're judging that based on a youtube vid of a live performance id guess you havent been playing very long.

Ive seen the dude live. Pure unadulterated evil murder guitar from hell that eats souls does not translate well into digital camera. Get out of the house more. No one at his show was bitching about his tone.

  • @jamest45acp I really like Eric Gales but to play with absolutely clean technique should be every guitar player's goal it is just a professional thing. Also I have a DVD of him playing on the Experiance Hendrix tour, and his tone has WAY to much top end he needs to tone it down, add a little more bass on his amp, otherwise he is alright.

  • @rams1528 Absolutely clean technique usually comes at the expense of emotional nuance in one's playing, so to make that "every guitar player's goal" would likely make for a very boring musical universe.

  • @rams1528 sorry man, I'd rather have passion than precision any day of the week, and twice on a Sunday! ;-)) Not criticising your opinion in any way, but just taking a different point of view. This guy's playing excites me, and as a semi-pro guitarist for many years, I can't say that about many current players! :-)

  • he is The music... awsome... really amazing.

  • it's a 1959 bassman bitches

  • been there

  • The bass player looks like David Labrayia's evil twin...

  • more like Burke Shelley from BUDGIE ;or TY TABOR from KING'S X

  • amen to that...

  • Nice tuning in C # - He must use 12's to get that tone and tunned down that much

  • He's tuned to C#?

Wow, that's probably my favorite key/tuning to play in but it never sounded any good on electric because my strings are only 10s.

    Thanks.

  • Yeah and this is a right handed guitar just turned upside down.

  • Yes of course, that's one thing that helps give him in his unique sound.

I realized he tuned down, but I assumed it was Eb or D, not C#.

I attributed the "different" sound just to the fact he's Eric fucking Gales, and never took a listen to figure out his tuning.

That'll definitely help once I try to figure out some of his songs...thanks.

  • sounds like drop c sharp

  • he looks like he's straight for once..awesome awesome guitar player!

  • Thanks for posting these -- there's just not enough EG out there!

  • Agreed
