@sotrlmml Personally, I think he wanted Cameron to comfort him but clearly she couldn't/wasn't going to at that moment. That's why he allows Sarah to instead--she's his mother and will allow him to cry and comfort him. Cameron (again just my opinion here) is trying to keep an emotional distance from John here--in a better quality vid you should be able to see that Cam makes a conscious decision in this scene not to do anything. She almost forces herself to not react to John's pain.
@sassy1988 i agree that he wanted cameron to comfort him but he already spurned her offer of companionship earlier in this episode, so this is why i believe she chooses to be cold towards him. it is very sad but at the same time, uplifting because it shows cameron will not leave his side and when he stops fighting his feelings towards her, she will no doubt be the one that comforts him in the future.
@sotrlmml ......... The last scene where John is on the couch between his Mom and Cameron... I personally think ---- He looked at Cameron and saw he will become like her in personality -- unemotional & stoic ---- John then turns to his Mom and cries because he now knows what he will become, she understands the pressures he is under and John can show total emotion with her without reservation.
John have mankind on his back, so when I see crying John, I just understand how hard mission and live he got. It's don't make him soft. He's human, not machine. Everyone cryes. This scene makes me think. Great actor play. Please, make Season 3...
John was attracted to Riley and was grateful to her for bringing some normality to his life but he didn't love her at all, nor did she ever love him although she did feel a genuine fondness for him and later remorse for manipulating him into having a relationship with her, it was never love. John was crying because he was upset by everything he'd gone through in the past few days.
That and because he knew Riley was from the future and could have helped her. He knew she was breaking from all the pressure being put into her, and did nothing to help. And she died. This was the moment he became more of a leader. The moment where he became the cold-hearted bastard General Connor. That's the bigest reason why he cried. The change he went through

@brasilianbabe12 All that mighty personal growth and you're asking why he's crying? have you seen what happened to get to this? Start to imagine to be in his shoes, it's enough to make anyone crumble at some point.
Yeah poor John. i Just don`t like the last scene of this episode, Seeing " John Connor" D` savior of mankind crying on his mother`s lap that was a little bit soft. Well, anyway a good acting by Sir Thomas Dekker! Hmmmmm? i was thinking what if Thomas cried on summer`s/cameron`s lap? that would be also nice! and sexy! = )
@NeoAndersonJunior Any sane person would of cried after all that. You call it soft, I call it strong. If a man can't even cry even once after all he's been through... Empathy isn't your strong suit.
