Every vehicle responds differently to varying exhaust setups, that is why testing is so important. In our testing on a stock 5.0L, the H was far superior. Forced induction may make a difference, we have not tested it.
I know as far as sound the H-pipe is better. Was just wondering why HP is more with Hpipe, especially since the X-pipe as a smoother flow. Also why pretty much every upgraded Mustang uses X-pipes. Would forced induction have a role? How would the H-pipe affect a blown or turbocharged mustang? Guess the X-pipe would be better in that case?
I would think H pipe would have a smoother flow. The pipes are straight...with the middle "H" part there in case there is an imbalance of pressure. Look at the X-pipe...it's curved, and that curve will FORCE air partially into the middle "X" part, which will cause a "back and forth" battle of air begin pushed across the middle. It makes sense to me why H pipe is better. "X" seems cool but it's not.
Just purchased the stainless cat to axle h pipe with no flowpacks to complement my roush axle back, i have a feeling alot of people are interested in this combination so ill post a sound clip when I get it installed.
@warphace Just got the 1429060 409steel cat to axle system installed on the car with my roush axle backs, this is a straight through h pipe setup with no resonators/flowpacks , sounds amazing, increases sound by about 10-15% over just the roush axle backs, changes up the tone slightly to a more burly sound. Performance wise its snowing out so I cant really test anything out using the butt dyno, but I will report back when the roads dry up.
you should do a before and after sound bite , people wanna hear what it sounds like more than they do all the other stuff. SOUND SELLS. The quality is there im sure, but what does it sound like ?
Hey John, I'm gonna try this syatem out on my new GT ,f i like your hands on style. just a suggestion that would help sellthis exhaust system, you should change the title of this video to 2011 Mustang Exhaust Heartthrob, unless you are on your website you cant find this video on you tube, it would get you more visits i guarantee it. just a thought, and if it works out maybe you could hook me up with a discount ? Good Luck and thanks for your video and dedication to my favorite car the Mustang.
Yes, Please post more videos w/ quality sound of the 5.0 mustang exhausts. Cat back and axle back clips of drive by and interior sounds. Also, any drone issues?
Great video but i think everyone watching including me,a potential customer 2012 gt,was waiting for a sound review.
