we get stuck a lot climbing steep hills,, reverse actually work,, always play up hill you can always back downhill,, also a 300 is plenty cc for tracks,, they will not climb as fast as a 800 but still climbs very well,, gary
i have one question, What do you guys do when you get stuck and your winch can't reach a tree or something, because i know it takes alot of snow to get an atv with tracks on stuck, and these are not small light weight quads. and oh ya is 300-350cc enough for tracks?

Hey there, I've got a Grizzly 700 and tatou tracks. Only used it a few times just got the tracks in march. I was wondering if you run in high or low range? I've got the 18 tooth gears that came on my tracks and I smelled the belt slipping while climbing a small hill once or twice in high range. Had to get a run at it because it was slippery and icy. Low range was too slow to make it to the top. Tried it in high range and made it up fine but could smell the belt when I stopped at the top.
@dirtdog301 we try to run in low most of the time in very deep snow,, that way for sure we have no belt issues,, in some cases you have to get the speed up in high gear and the first or second time you might have a small belt smell,, yamaha has one of the best belt systems out there and we do not do any clutch adjustments,, but if you want to drive in high most of the time you might have to do a minor clutch spring adjustment,,possibly it was just the new belt braking in , gary
@cummcolt in our opinion they are both great machines as we have had both,, we would prefer the 700 grizzly even without power steering as we have a 07 and ride it hard and have had no issues at all with it,, the 750 king quad has a softer suspension and sometimes requires a lift kit with tracks,, that is the only draw back we think of the suzuki,, they both have diff lock and great power for single cylinder engines, gary
we run in two wheel drive a lot,, when the snow get,s very deep we will put it in 4 wheel drive,, the person doing the wheel brodies was in two wheel drive ,
When you have the 4s do you need to keep the ATV in 4x4 at all times or can it be in 2x4... If you can respond please do it in a YouTube message . Thanks
we all run big bores,, to large of gear and you will burn your clutch out in deep snow,, my stock 800 will go 40 plus miles per hour on flat ground,,speedo still reads 65 mph, in deep snow only 20,, driving in snow is driving in mud,, how fast can you go through a three feet mud hole,, gary
The only thing I don't like about track kits is the gearing down. Makes sense for the smaller quads but the big bores. Would like to see a company make a set for big bores like the grizzly 700 in same gear as stock tires.
i have a 2wheel drive 1986 honda 250 fourtrax im thinking of buying the ktracks kit with the skiis. it does not have any gear reduction like these and has higher performance and better milage. but it probably won't go through as much snow as these. but i live in the praires is sask canada so i dont see really deep snow. so ill be going much faster than this like ill be going the top speed of my quad when it has wheels.
I have probably watched every atv track video on youtube and you guys have great videos, keep up the great work. I have commander wide tracks and love them, how do they rate to the tatou 4s for deep powder mountain riding. i see more and more of the tatou but don't think its worth the money for me to switch. Thanks
@kawirzrfreak the commander is so close to the wide track it is not worth changing,, the advantage to the tatou 4s is you do not have to worry if you have to drive 10 miles on dry ground,, gary
@atvtracks i kind of figured that from the videos on you tube, its supposed to snow pretty quick here so hopefully get some use out of them, keep up the great videos hope to see more. Thanks
@atvtracks by the way if you really want to boost sales you guys should do some comparo videos with the same type machine on tracks and tires, even simple road riding showing how well they work, two wheel drive etc., they really are amazing. People just don't realize the traction and floatation they provide over a set of tires no matter how aggressive the tread pattern.
How does a tracked quad go in deep powder vs a mountain sled? I know they aren't going to run with a sled as far as speed is concerned, nor high mark with one. I'd think that boondocking through the timber would be better witha tracked quad, looks like more total track, and no skis to have to push through the snow.
I'm asking because I'm considering selling my modded RX-1 and buying tracks for my Renegade.
@idahorenegade we run our tracks in deep soft snow in october and november and snow mobilers cannot follow us unless they are good enough to stay around 40 mph,, only problem is when we are boondocking we need to go around tree swells at a slow speed,, runs tracks you will not be able to high mark but you can go up the ridge and still get there,, also you can run your tracks 6 months out of the year snowmobilers can only run about 2,, gary
How much is a set for a 4x4 honda 420 or 500? also do u have any vids of the quads with tracks doing wheelies and donuts?, never seen anything like that before so think it might be cool
@Turbine2k8 3195.00 shipped to a business address,, tracks weigh 75lbs each,, no wheelies,, also 42 inch long rear track and 36 inch long front tracks to much traction to do wheelies except in deep sof snow,, gary
@corness8 yes you will loose 30 to 40% top speed but will increase low end torque by 50%,, instead of a 24 inch diameter tire you will run a 16 to 18 inch diameter drive wheel,, your speedo will still read 60mph, but actuall spedd will be 40 to 45, gary
thankyou, i wish we had the shots of us pulling out our snowmobile buddy six times the same day we were riding in this video,,we didi not get a atv stuck and never do,, gary
