I just got back from the North Dakota allstate choir disappointed because the festivle was canceled due to a blizzard... But we were going to sing this, we sang it better than they did... And I honestly about cried just hearing this. Our other major song was O fortuna from the carmina burana
The first time I ever heard this piece was at a St. Olaf Choir concert when I was 16, a junior in high school. I remember it pulling at my heart strings from the very first chord until I caught my breath when it ended, like I had seen the face of God. I didn't hear it again until the following year when a college choir came to my high school. But I recognized it as soon as the choir began to sing- and I felt this surge of joy come over me, and I literally cried right there in the chorus room.
Get to sing this Monday night for our High School's Chamber Choir. First year choir, and I'm a Senior, and I got chosen for the Chamber Choir. I'm actually pumped, or as pumped I will ever be to sing infront of a thousand people. Great song.
We sang this in an honor choir today. It's such a beautiful piece. I think it's my new favorite piece. My favorite parts are where it says water and it goes minor and the part where it goes all wonky ("As pieces of cloud dissolve in sunlight..").
dr. fenton was just in south dakota and he had this song for honor choir, it was truely the most beautiful song i've ever heard...it made me choke while i was singing it
This is made me melt. The Iowa All State chorus is going to sing this (just got the audition packet today!) and I hope it sounds half as beautiful as this.
@fuzzyweezerman We're singing this in choir because it's in the All-State packet. Love so much! Great sound and text. Good luck at auditions, I'm not auditioning this year but I know how much work it is...
This is absolutely wonderful. I sang this at the FSU summer music camp the summer of 2009, and Dr. Fenton was our choir director (and still is ;D). This piece was so moving, and when he dedicated it to his wife, it made the whole choir tear as we sang it. Bravo! Great job!
@fonsworth91 I was there too, I sang in Bass section, Dr. Fenton is an amazing Director...this song makes me cry everytime it gets to the epic "This is how I would die, into the love I have for you, THE LOVE!!!" section... Ritmo was kool too
Heck yes! Thanks so much for uploading this. I love this song so much. I am with a group that will be performing it in Carnegie Hall, and i am so glad to hear it,

Whenever we sing this in choir we all comment on how different parts sound like different Disney movies.
